Software is great. Customer service stinks. Sounds like a company populated by computer geeks who don't know how to deal with real people. Downloading was unnecessarily difficult. And it was full of u... See more

The software is good, but the pricing is very unfair. We purchased iClone 6/7 and CC3 (Character Creator), plus the 3D Exchange pipeline. We now find that iClone 8 and CC4 no longer require the exchan... See more

DO NOT BUY. They screwed a whole class of students over.
I am part of a 3d art class and our dumbass professor, advised us to get this program because it was very useful or whatever, as he was a teacher "for them". Well everyone in the class got screwed over in a different way by them. Everyone had an orrible experience and they just sucked our money out.
Do not buy their products! You have to spend money to do anything, even to export FBX file.
Do not buy the stupid plugins that are useless for the price they ask for.
I bought it during the Christmas holidays and there was this offer where if you spent mmore than 400$ you would get cc4 upgrade for free. So I put some extra stuff in the cart just to get to that amount. Well after 3-4 months cc4 came out and I didn't get the upgrade. I contacted the support and told me that i wasn't actually gonna get it because of some ambiguous thing that was not well specified. They offered to give it to me if I bought more expensive stuff!
They are just a scam awful company please don't waste money on them.
Reallusion makes expensive toys, not professional software!!
Professional software has tech support.
Instead of focusing on releasing a unified product, where all parts of its functionality work together - for everybody - Reallusion has focused on compartmentalizing every single facet of their functionality in order to monetize them to the highest degree possible.
The result of that, is not only having to pay exceedingly high prices for their software in order to get everything you need, but constantly having to deal with compatibility issues, due to their various components being built on out-dated software like directx9, which was made for Windows98.
That was my issue with them - 3DXchange. Because they dragged this ancient relic along for so long trying to sell it, even though customers KEPT having massive problems with it, we begged them to just integrate that functionality into iclone for literally 4 years, only to find that they were finally going to do that... for iclone8. I had paid $1,200 for their software package, only to find that a large chunk of it would never work for me.
Their response? "PAY ANOTHER $1,200 for iclone 8, and CC4"!!
The more you spend, the more you need to spend with them.
Dealing with them on a customer service basis is a nightmare, and they offer no direct tech support unless you allow them full remote access to your computer. GOOD LUCK even getting that opportunity.
Customer support will tell you to do the same things over and over again, even though you just tried them and they didn't work, say the exact same things, verbatim, over and over again - making you wonder if you're actually speaking to a human being.
Always the answer is the same: "BUY IT ALL AGAIN."
That will NEVER be happening, which is a great shame, because their software is truly amazing when it works correctly.
...But this company treats its customers like garbage, without regard to how polite their various agents appear, and at the end of the day their software is just not worth paying more than your computer is worth for.
So in spite of the fact that my particular problem MIGHT be solved with iclone8/CC4, what other carrots are they waiting to dangle in my face, so that I'll buy iclone9/CC5? Who knows, but you can be absolutely sure there will be one - it's part of their business model.
The software is very expensive and sh**t
The software is very expensive, I have been using it for a long time, I can guarantee you that these are really useless, especially do not buy! Save your money this really is a big scam this software , and I pass the many bugs and also the clothes that don't adapt to any character, these really really suck
Everything went well
I bought a software bundle and testes it through. Although it was a great set of softwares it didn't however meet our studios standards. Money was refunded and everything went well. Maybe in the future we try it again.
These people are just mentally Ill scam artists.
These people are just mentally Ill. I don't know if trustpilot let's you post screenshots to your reviews but boy do I have a couple of doozies!
I'm doing some spec work for a nonprofit start up that teaches and gives children music instruments and music education. These are underprivileged inner city and rural kids that are dirt poor. We wanted to use their software to do some animation in our teaching curriculum but the experience of speaking with people at the company was just unbelievable. I feel like I just exited an episode of the twilight zone. What kind of sales person tells you I doubt you work for a nonprofit and calls you a liar when they're trying to make a sale?
No, there's something very wrong with this company. I have the screenshots to prove it. The sales person was far more interested and starting some kind of argument than selling the software. Who acts this way in a civilized socity?
I've seen people working at companies that are terrible places to work that react in negative ways but nothing this outlandish. This is truly the CooCoo Nut Farm stuff! There's absolutely no way this is a legitimate company. These five star reviews here on this page, I don't believe any of them are true.
The software is exceptional but...
The software is exceptional but the way the purchase system is setup is borderline a scam company. Complete money burner. They will charge you several times for one piece of software as you will be required to buy another product in order to use the product you just purchased. With game engines such as Unreal rocketing at the moment Reallusion should be one of those companies settings the standard for third party connections instead they seem to be ripping off artists
Money Burner
Be careful of this company. OK, I've tried demos of most of their products that are apparently 30 day trials. First of all, my trials lasted 3 days!! I also found out that if you make something in CC3 after paying $149.99 for CC3, expect to pay another few hundred just to be able to export as FBX! Ummm, shouldn't this be included in the $149.99?! Then don't get me started on iClone. .. Until this company get's is butt in gear and stops trying to milk to the community, I suggest that they stop trading. It's only a matter of time before the majority of their customers figure out that their money is being swiped from in front of their face, Such a shame really, because the software has a hell of a lot of potential (regardless of the lack of useful content).
the iclone system alone must have cost…
the iclone system alone must have cost millions to create. it is an outstanding piece of software. try it and see for yourself. THE creators are constantly improving and creating and connecting via pipelines almost immediately with current platforms.
REALLUSIONS DOWNFALL A TOTALLY CORRUPT COMPANY to the CORE!
My experience with Reallusion has been the most Terrible and Horrifying experience of my entire life.
Do not buy Reallusion. Because if you do, then complain to the forum or Peter Edwards, They will act like 1930's Germany and try to exterminate you. I bought i-Clone expecting to be able to join the forum and discuss issues related to the software.
I noticed a BAN strike through my name.. I asked customer service why they banned me, They told me because I was harrassing a user, which is not true. How could it be, I wasnt even in the forum to harrass anyone. I later found out exactly why they banned my account,
its because I am a competing vendor and I sell motions through a company called Truebones.. My forum status was ELITE MEMBER. Until PETER decided I wasnt welcome anymore. these people are picking on their own customers calling them THIEVES... And thats not the worst part.
REALLUSION IS CORRUPTED! I see they had several contests, where the contestants actually USED STOLEN CONTENT from ROOBOO 999 and others...
Its no secret that a lot of free content is available from RROOBOO and others, and it is quite easy to use that evil little program called X-CHANGE to take this Free content and convert it to i-Clone format.
Now I see that not only have they stolen content in the contests they run, They also have STOLEN CONTENT in both of there marketplaces. This is very SUS at least... They have 2 Stores and they charge twice for the content, one is for a use rights and the other is for a export license. And thats illegal!
ie CHARGING twice for the SOftware and then charging twice from 2 different stores, one is a points system, and the other is cash. CREEPY at best.
This means that i-Clone is misleading consumers with their LIES and DECIPT. And... I find out that reallusion is trying to sell content that was stolen from Mixamo and Truebones.. If you go to the content store you will see that it is a SCAM they are selling the same MIXAMO motions that you could of got for FREE from MIXAMO. DO NOT BUY REALLUSION software, They will send the goons LIKE BEN TUTTLE out after you if you speak up about there stolen PIRATED content.
Thats not all. I asked for a refund and they wont answer me back, They have stolen all my motions from Truebones and then out them up in they're marketplace under different peoples names as if to try and hide the stuff.. Take a look at this misleading video IT shows a user named adolf ironically enough.
Supposedly using iclone to make great videos. But it is a total SHAM because it contradicts it self.. First they say he bought all the content from the content store, We can see plainly now, that if that content was from the Reallusion Content Store, then WHY is it all stolen stuff From video games.?? Also the CONTESTS are extremely and highly suspect as they called it a GAME character animation contest. Again thats fine, BUT why is theyre stolen content from VIDEO GAMES all up in the contest? We checked into it and what we found out was appalling,
They actually USED theyre own customers as PIRATE Patsys to STEAL for them or used them as fences to fence off stolen copyrighted goods.
We saw the list of winners and people submitted, we found over 100 instances of copyright violations including 1st, second and 3rd prize winners all had content in the contest, that they has just BOUGHT from the content store.. I dont know about you but usually when people run a contest they have to use theyre own WORK, this is no different than MILI VANNILLI all over again, ITS A SHAM FOLKS and the end is NEAR for them..
In all we found out that REALLUSION is nothing but a hardcore PIRACY HAVEN and they work their own customers to STEAL and LIE for them under the guise of a contest.
ITS DIGUSTING STAY FAR FAR AWAY from REALLUSION or i-CLone they are living in a FANTASY BUBBLE that is ready to burst at any moment. You dont want to be around when that happens,
The very last thing you want to report or say to PETER from REALLUSION is.... Hey! why are my motions in your contests and stores?
THEY WILL BLOCK YOUR ip and BAN YOU FOR LIFE and they dont care if you are an ELITE MEMBER or not.
I AM A VERY ANGRY and CONFUSED CUSTOMER REALLUSION! WHERES MY REFUND?
P.S. PIRATES CONTROL REALLUSION not PETER, Peter is just a patsy pariah primaddona, put in place to protect plagiarists and pirates.
I've worked with Reallusion software…
I've worked with Reallusion software for over 2 years now and surprised by the comments. I've personally found them very helpful to my requirements and I've emailed them a few times for things here and there which were always met with high standard.
I'm quite a strict person when it comes to professionalism, as you may see by my more scathing reviews, but none of that here.
A good platform with a good service. Grab stuff when there are discounts and you won't lose.
Absolute scam
Absolute scam
artist and really good ones you'll will need to spend 500 $ at least to make a video. Yep and they have the worst support team I have ever came across taking 3 days to respond each time. And honestly what you get is shitt just get blender. Terrible software terrible support team overpriced and just a failure honestly. DO NOT BUY
Disgusting server
I bought Crazy Talk Pro with a bunch of add-ons and enjoyed it very much. Unfortunately my e:mail address was hacked and it was also my Reallusion account name. I cancelled that e:mail account and, through Reallusion Customer service, using my new e:mail address and account, I asked them to send me the information to be able to use my new account name with the Crazy Talk Pro software, which is still installed on my computer. The serial number has disappeared and the programs will not load. Can anyone on this forum help me with this. I had two auto replies to my service requests, the last one was signed "Eva" but is so inane that it must have come from a machine. It cancelled the ticket and told me to make a new ticket using the hacked e:mail address that no longer exists
Borderline Fraudulent Company
This company borders on fraudulent. They lure people into buying their super expensive animation software with fancy graphics on their website, but they offer NO SUPPORT. You won't be able to reproduce what they show you. You will be on your own. You are basically dealing with an automated website.
The only thing they are good at is taking your money. That software works without a hitch.
They are not located in America, contrary to their claims the headquarters is in San Jose. It's not. Their supposed address is just a phone and mail service they pay for. They are a foreign company and as such, they couldn't care less about customer service.
Very underhand practices
Be very careful if considering buying Reallusion products. Their marketing and advertising is misleading at best. Bought character creator for $200 and want to export what you`ve made to Iclone, which you forked $200 for as well, for animation? No problem as long as you`ve bought the "pipeline" version. Want to send everything you`ve made to Unreal/Unity or other external program? You`ll need to buy 3DXchange 7 for another $500 just to be able to export as .fbx as they have greyed out the export function. Really?? $500 for the privilege of exporting what you have already made in the $400 of other software you`ve purchased. What they have essentially done here is created lots of barriers between their software solely for the purpose of charging the consumer for "pipeline" products, plugins and addons. Take the headshot plugin for example I think initially it was $100 or $150 and as soon as it launched the Headshot Morph 1000+ plugin was for released for $100.Now in order to get any joy with making something with headshot you really needed this plugin. My feeling was that this was similar to the greyed out fbx exporter in iclone. That the headshot plugin had been developed with the morphs included and that these 1000 morphs had been stripped away to be sold separately. There is a real lack of base content in CC3 too. A handful of hairstyles and clothing assets that are pretty much useless means you`ll be needing a trip to the content store for assets. Here you will find the "Essential Bundles". On this point I agree with Reallusion entirely. These are indeed essential if you want to get anything done in CC3. These bundles at the time were around $150 each at the time and had all the usual tricks like T-Shirts in one bundle and shorts in the other. They even have a tutorial vid to make a Barcelona kit labelled to the effect make this from "essential bundle number 1 pack". In which the dev makes the top and goes to make the shorts when he realises there are no shorts in the pack. So he calmly says "I`ll just get them from this pack then" not mentioning that would be another $150 for those assets. Now it was obviously known at the time of filming that the title of the video was incorrect and misleading but they chose to go with it anyway. These kind of practices are right across the board where Reallusion are concerned. I urge you to watch their promo vids with this in mind as the narrator tells you how seamlessly things all work,CC3,Iclone,3D exchange, pipeline, headshot plugin, motionlive, addon. I could go on! Whilst not mentioning these are all separate things you have to buy and there`s no "sold separately" indicator onscreen. Bottom line. If you think cc3 looks good for $200 and want to animate them in iclone for $200 then send them on somewhere. You are going to need pipeline and 3DXchange as well which will cost you another $500. All of a sudden the idea of making something in CC3 is $900 and you still have no assets. No headshot plugin or morphs ($200).No body mocap ($199). No facial mocap, ( $100-$1600 approx) depending on what you need. Another thing to be wary of is content store assets which will be advertised to you at the lower "Icontent"price. To clarify this "Icontent" cannot be exported and is stuck firmly inside CC3 or Iclone. So assuming your work flow ends in CC3 I.e you just want to look at your creation on your screen then all is well and good. If you like most others I imagine are making characters and using them for games etc. Then you will need an "export" version of the asset which is at an additional cost of 30% and of course...3DXchange $500. Again my feeling is 3DXchange is partly in place to milk you of this additional 30% whilst maintaining almost Stasi levels of control over what comes in and out of 3DXchange. I would complain, but the last time I tried that the helpline advisor couldn`t even determine if my complaint was a complaint or a technical question. I bid you farewell.
Ridiculously overpriced
Ridiculously overpriced, very narrow refund system and unfunctional. They'd expect you to pay $450 ontop of whatever you spent on their original products to export to fbx files to use outwith and software except their own. This is ridiculous for what they do, especially for small startups. If you can, use any other service than this.
