Good supplier. Delivery contractor not so much.
Placed another small order with Rapid Metals - all prep'd and ready to go just a few days later.
Delivery contractor then seemed to mislay and re-find the package before delivering it a day later than they indicated. The driver simply dropped it on my path and walked away....
Might be time for RM, (a good supplier in my experience!), to review their delivery contractor's performance.

Your service was excellent but let down…
Your service was excellent but let down by the postal arrangement. I placed the order Friday about 14.00, within an hour or so you confirmed dispatch. I accept there was a weekend in the way but I expected delivery Tuesday. It arrived today Thursday.

Slow dispatch
We placed an order with three items on the order one of which was very urgent. It turned out that another of the items was out of stock and so rapid Metals held the entire order waiting for the third item to come into stock.

We would usually wait for the entire order to be ready to send together, rather than splitting it, unless it was an extended lead time on a certain product. When it's only a day extra which was the case in this instance, we felt it would be best to keep the order whole and send it all once the outstanding item had arrived. The "Rapid" service isn't very rapid…
The "Rapid" service isn't very rapid anymore.
It used to be a couple of days at most.
The material is always on point and sized correctly though.

Trusted supplier to Ashland Engineering Ltd
We are a fabrication and machining business in Milton Keynes and often have a requirement for small sizes of assorted materials where buying in bulk does not make sense. Rapid metals stock a good range of materials; they cut to size and deliver promptly with good tracking information. For materials not on their website the sales team respond quickly to our RFQ's. Prices are reasonable for an online seller. Rapid Metals is now one of Ashland Engineering's trusted material suppliers and I would recommend them.
