The Radiacode devices do what intended to do. It is not just a classic Geiger counter, it is a full scale spectrometer. Hard to learn but easy to master.

The RC 110 is a high quality counter / dosimeter / spectrometer. Very sensitive to beta and gamma radiation and intuitive in operation.

Fifty and sixty years ago in a different life I used nuke spectrometry tools that were rack mounted. This little Radiacode 110 is as close to magic as I can come. At age 81 I am now reduced to doing my old science jobs as a hobby and right away I am witnessing gamma background I CANNOT explain easily. Life is fun again!

it is known why WINE doesn't work-- one needs the custom USB driver, which is not so surprising. It would be nice to have written down an established Linux path-- does it need an Android VM, will Waydroid work, (bonus: if so will weston+Waydroid make it work in X11)?
Or is there no reasonable way for the designed connection, bluetooth or direct usb, to work in Linux?

Build quality is great. Also accessories. Functions well and i like the ability to view spectrum and identify isotopes, however i would like a more explanatory and detailed user manual for beginners. Additionally a Bluetooth connection for the PC app is welcome. Also i would like more instructions about the battery and how to take care of it (charge level and state) because it will possibly be off for long periods.

It was a fun little toy at first, but a lot of things were not intuitive - even turning the device off, much less features of the apps. I found it the manual clunky and virtually worthless. Lots of descriptions of features without actually telling you how to use them. Without Google and Youtube, I would not have known how to do anything. When I was finally starting to figure things out, except how to actually view and save my spectrographs that I spent hours recording, the desktop software crashed and I have been unable to use it, even after uninstalling and reinstalling. It may work on my phone, but I'm a little apprehensive about trying anymore.
