DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY BUYER or SELLER. Horrendous experience from start to finish, i used the Nottingham branch. I am a first-time buyer and the whole experience has put me off altogether.
i went to view a property in which I decided to put in an offer- this offer was the asking price. 4 days had passed, and after numerous amounts of phone calls I still wasn't clear as to whether the offer had been accepted or not, all i was told is the venders are very happy with the offer but need further details. At this point i had emailed numerous amounts of documents all proving i had the deposit, how the mortgage was being funded, evidence i was able to get the mortgage. Yet they continued to push for more documents bearing in mind the offer hadn’t even been accepted at this point. I would not be surprised if this company hadn't even made the owners aware of my offer in hope they were going to receive a higher one as it was all very odd.
I was pushed into having what they described as ‘Free financial advice’ phone call. I agreed and she called me. She was extremely rude to me and very pushy when I told her numerous amounts of times I had already sorted out the mortgage side of things. She then went on to demand I sent over the evidence after I had told her 5 times I had a meeting later that afternoon with the bank manager so couldn’t in fact do anything until then.
After a few days of waiting the guy i was dealing with assured me he would be in touch Friday, to let me know whether the offer had been accepted. It turns out he was on Annual leave so i had a call from the 'branch manager’ I am a 23 year old woman and I can honestly say I have never been spoken the way he spoke to me, he was very belittling and patronizing. I am absolutely disgusted with the way I was treated and I certainly will not be using this company again
the worst real estate company in all of…
the worst real estate company in all of england, I had the viewing in Cotgrave-Nottingham for 12:30am on 05/01/2022 but not address for the property, no text message or email literally nothing at all, I spoke twice with them and they promised to send all the details in 20 minutes, but nothing again! If you are invited in property’s like me, please avoid this company if there is any possibility!
Unprofessional
Awful experience selling my property through Pygott & Crone. Very lengthy process and the soliciting firm they recommended (Stonebow Law) were absolutely abysmal.
My property was empty with no chain, direct to a first time buyer. Whole process took over 25 weeks from sale. In retrospect earlier in the year I purchased a property with a chain in less than 3 weeks with another provider.
Avoid Pygott & Crone, you can do better.
By far the worst experience I have had with any estate agent!
Inefficient and incompetent! These agents do not care about the customer they undervalued the property this was evident upon survey being completed. Failed to carry out the most basic checks causing the first sale to fall through literally at the completion stage!
After 8 months they were still unable to facilitate a sale on the property despite being told its immaculate and marketing it as a featured property.
Then having decided to withdraw the property from the market because of the awful service they provided I was told they will land me a £300 withdrawal fee.
Greedy and disgusting I am surprised they are still in business!
Shame I can’t give zero stars 1 seems too generous.

Wrote to who I believe was their CEO a T Downing concerning an issue about disability discrimination.
I received no acknowledgement from him at all, nor did he reply to my concerns about a blatant discrimination act. To me if they will not take this seriously, what else will they ignore - racial discrimination, gender discrimination. On that basis people should not use this company
As a buyer who has bought a house with…
As a buyer who has bought a house with them, Im only giving 1 star. Here are some of the reasons why:
1. So greedy, they sometime dont even tell the seller when you've given a counter offer, but kept pushing you to give better offers.
2. They would give you stupid reasons to push you accepting ridiculous prices, remember to do a lot of viewings with the others before dealing with them.
3. They would help the seller to promise a lot of things, but they wont make sure that the seller actually fulfill any of them. When the seller failed to fulfill any of the promises, or even failed to fulfill the contract (leaving rubbish and mess and unwanted furniture behind, missing paperwork, promised work not done, etc.) Pygott & Crone dont care and will only say its not their job to make sure any of that. This is REALLY serious matter, and very immoral. They wouldnt even offer to contact the seller for you at the first place.
If you are buying a house through them, BEWARE.
Worst experience ever!!!!
Worst experience ever!!!!! Very unprofessional with bad manners and bad service, they worked more for the buyer (but who was paying their bill???? not the buyer!!!!!). We have moved previously but they made this move even more stressful than any previous moves. Would NEVER use this company again...... would suggest going to another agent!!
Absolutely atrocious customer service
Absolutely atrocious customer service, including from the manager I spoke to about the numerous issues encountered. Unapologetic, and tried to but the blame on me for them not calling me back.
They obviously don't want your money, don't give it to them.
Brilliant service & Customer care.
Brilliant service , especially to mention ,Tammy , Guy & Fiona , there attention to detail , professionalism & general customer care was outstanding at all time’s.
A massive big thank you .
All much appreciated,
Kindest regards
Chris & Lynn.
Roque estate agent!
In 2018, I placed an off-plan property with the Lincolnshire branch of Pygott and Crone.
Whilst they found me a buyer, my own estate agent, who was meant to be acting for me, colluded with the buyer's solicitor MJP Solicitors of Norwich
and developers Jackson & Jackson along with the buyer and basically stole the property from underneath me.
This resulted in a loss of £14,000 deposit and an additional loss of £15,000 profit.
Total loss was £29,000.
The estate agent never even called ,me to offer an apologise or give an explanation.
It's as if I never existed!
I have all the evidence, so if any names mentioned in this review has an issue, I will back it up with substantial proof and evidence!
This review will remain, as it is a reflection of the truth and corruption within the estate agents industry!
Coral Bennett has been incredible at making our house move happen!
We have just had a very long journey to purchase our new property through the Boston office, partly due to an unreliable chain behind us and then the coronavirus lockdown. Coral Bennett at Boston has been fantastic. She has chased everyone and constantly checked back down the chain to find out what was happening and kept us informed every step of the way. She has been efficient and friendly and we don't think we would have actually got to this point where we have exchanged contracts without her perseverance. We can't praise or thank her enough.
Very poor service
Very poor service. No communication at all. I had to ring them all the time. Only managed to get 3 viewings in 20 weeks. Then had the cheek to send a bill for £150 for marketing fees !! Would not recommend at all.
Pygott and Crone
Pygott and Crone had my property on the market for 2 years. They failed to get many viewings and completely failed to market my property effectively. They only took 4 photos of the apartment for the brochure. I left the property with them only because they charge a fee to exit the contract with them. So I had to pay them for their total failure to sell my property. I would not go anywhere near them. They are the worst estate agents I have ever come across
This company cannot get enough of…
This company cannot get enough of marketing unsolicited mail.....
After receiving email confirmation from director Paul Wood, that I would not receive any more marketing by post, I have since received two more items.
PLEASE READ THE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK ON THIS SITE TO SEE WHAT THEY ARE REALLY LIKE.
Appalling company who will do anything to make money, and I mean anything.....
Sleaford branch.
Sleaford branch.
We was buying a property in North Kyme, everything was in place - surveys, solicitors, we even cut our holiday short because it appeared that the move was progressing quicker than expected. However when we came back the move date repeatedly got pushed back and back. The man in this property would not get out of the house, he wanted contracts to exchange with no move dates. We repeatedly booked time off work for each suggested move date and then he’d push it back.
Everyone in the chain was disappointed, and we have just been notified by our own agent that our buyers have pulled out. So we have lost a lot of money through this seller messing around. We then checked the north kyme property this morning to see he has taken it off, we checked with the agent and it appeared it was a mistake. So the man selling the house has not only put it back on the market but he has the nerve to put it up for an extra 20k!
I would have thought that the estate agent would have more responsibility to the buyers, we have lost a lot of money because of this seller. I wouldn’t recommend this home, and I have lost faith in the agent for continuing to advertise properties like this.
Unprofessional and Uncommunicative Service
We recently tried to buy a house listed with P&C. The agents were highly unprofessional, and, frankly, edged us out of a possible sale because we were not cooperative (we refused to apply for a mortgage with them because we already had a DIP from a lender). We made an offer and then waited without updates for 5 days. When we enquired as to why we'd had no updates, they told us they had tried to contact us the day prior to see but couldn't get a hold of us, and then that the vendor didn't want to wait. We didn't have messages on either mobile or landline, so there's no evidence that they tried to reach us. Nor did they email us (which they had done previously when unable to reach us by phone). Frankly, we think they purposely failed to update us in order to push us out in favour of another buyer because we didn't want to apply for a mortgage with them.
AVOID - VERY POOR customer service
AVOID - VERY POOR customer service. Even when trying to complain they treat you with disrespect. Disappointed as I just wanted an apology as the company was not upfront with all their requirements
For the fees they are asking for they should try and actually understand that clients have different life circumstances
Back to the bad old days
Spalding branch.
We were told on introduction that commission was 1.5%, there was a £150 fee for photos and energy plan, and P&C also 'reserved to right' to charge £150 admin fee if we withdrew the property from them. He told us he'd recently 2 or 3 couples interested in a property like ours. Commission was slightly higher than local competition, but we gullibly presumed this was spent on extra marketing.
After seeing only 2 couples in 3 months (1 of whom made it clear from the outset they had no interest in our house) and despite dropping the price by over 8%, we decided to sell elsewhere.
We were told we had to pay the admin fee and also the £150 'arrangement fee' for the photos (we could not keep or use them).
Having sold a property elsewhere recently, I really thought estate agents had changed. Well, Pygott & Crone haven't!
If you are thinking of selling or letting/renting I'd strongly recommend you look elsewhere.

This company sent me an unsolicited letter......this is deemed as a service provided by the company as per Trustpilot guidelines.
You can show that you used the services - you haven't bought or ordered anything, but you can otherwise document your use of the business or company's services. This might be by showing correspondence with the company or documenting some other interaction.
This company search the property portals looking at properties that come to the market with another agent.
They then try to find out the vendor's address. They then send unsolicited post to sell all their other add ons like, relocation services, mortgages, conveyancing, land and new homes. This is where they make a fortune.
They finish the letter by stating, ' To opt out of any further communications from us please write or email us
This clearly breaks the new GDPR code on privacy protection. This estate agent will do everything possible to gain business so be warned.
I hope that the High street estate agents disappear sooner rather than later. Rip Off businesses who charge a fortune for marketing a property.
Update: They have now reported me as I have never used their services. You could not make it up. Unprofessional parasite of a company. Avoid at all cost......
Bought from P&C Sleaford
Bought from P&C Sleaford. Were blatantly lied to by the agent regarding the activities of the bus company next to the house. This kind of behaviour does not give estate agents a good name.
