Absolute waste of money and time
What an absolute waste of money. We paid upfront, my father’s property, which we are having to sell to pay for his dementia care, has been on the market for 7 months with only 5 viewings!! Once they have your money, there’s no incentive to market. Agents changed at least 4 times so no consistency, and a nightmare to contact. We also lost 2 sales from atrocious advice, one was a cash buyer!! We have now moved to a local agent and had 5 viewings in 2 weeks!!

Didn't go with purple bricks in the end but they we courteous and professional.

I do not know why high street agents exist anymore...
Purplebricks got the important things right but the journey could still be smoother. Expect a few bugs along the way but it is still better to stay in control and of course save a bundle of money.
No doubt in my mind that the future of selling property is online.

Initially I was very impressed with Diane Armstrong the member of staff who made contact with me to value my house, discuss fee options and market stratedgy for my home.
Diane is very knowledgeable and keen to get my house sold for me although it is early days I believe I chose a good agent and with value for money, the price of fees are good and her ability is obvious; I do need to move quickly - I have full confidence that Diane and her colleauge Meg Sewell will sell my house as soon as possible - they are easy to contact and reply quickly - I will review more thoroughly once it is sold let's hope it is soon - Mrs C.

Not sure if an estate agent would be…
Not sure if an estate agent would be any better. It all depends on the person in the driving seat. We are trying to sell the house despite Purple bricks
Very polite but missed out on providing a good professional service.
Delayed marketing and we had a timeline before going on holiday - they never supported our needs and potential customers will not see the advert now if they have set their preferences to just seeing new houses alert every couple of days. ( again as I write , the house has not been listed due to them not deleting / updating the home plan ie -
House plans had a toilet and a bath in a room and there was none, they apparently took some old plans off the system over 5 years ago to avoid need to do it when visiting. Short cut backfires and as I wrote this still not corrected it. So I have instructed the plan to be deleted until they sort their issues out
When I received the marketing information to sign off to ( means purple bricks take no responsibility for accuracy ) and found the home was not even located in the correct area. Now updated
The marketing did not mention the fact that the house had its own solar power panels generating electric for the home and selling back to the grid Now updated
The identity checks should have been straight forward as purple bricks recently outsourced to a different supplier because last ones were slow. They need to move again. From password problems to delays in processing potential issues up the chain to resolve and then having to chase them only to find they had been resolved but they had not processed the results yet. Asked them to do it when on phone and they did so in 5 seconds. Without me chasing it would be another day lost . Now sorted
But until sorted. You could not even look at the draft house information
The for sale sign has been ordered but no idea when it will arrive.
This weekend is the once a year get-together that happens down our road and hundreds of people from outside the area will be walking past. So I have purchased a for sale sign to put in the window hoping they see it and it says it will be with the agent soon for the marketing
Perhaps I should have just done that weeks ago and not used purple bricks.

Katie Smyth came to evaluate our property and so far it has been really easy, stress free process. She was professional, well prepared with like for like properties recently sold in our area which gave us the confidence to trust her expertise and list our home.
Katie’s excellent customer service also have been duly noted. We received the support we needed with communications even weekends and evenings.
I hope the sell and final process to be as good 😊

Lack of communication
Lack of communication, no way to directly contact the person who deals with your house other than email and get no answer.

A proactive team
A proactive team. I am in the early stages of buying my first property. The team has been readily available via phone and email, with answers and options to help move the sale along avoiding unnecessary delays. I have been with 2 other agencies and this difference has been helpful to have.
