Awful application—avoid using!

If I could give zero stars, I would. As if finding a job isn’t stressful and frustrating enough, my experience just added salt to a deep wound! I tried to set up their software on my PC so I can take an employment exam for a job I applied for, and the setup has been a complete and total migraine! I completed Step 5 of the process, which involves adding a Google Chrome add-on and sharing my screen, only to be redirected back to Step 4 of the process, which involves setting up the webcam. I tried contacting support, only to be given the same set of ineffective steps over and over again! When I tell them I completed the steps, they asked me again “Can you please confirm you completed the steps?” Apparently, either English isn’t their first or second language or they are complete morons (perhaps a little of both). The last time I talked with someone, I tried 5-10 different things that he suggested, which included sitting closer to the Internet source (I was within only a few feet) and resetting the connection—neither worked.

Special thanks to them, I was forced to give up and I now have to drive an hour and a half out of my way to take the exam on-site and take time off work unpaid! They should pay for my lost wages and transportation. If you are an employer or academic institution, I highly recommend you not use this service! Please spare your job/school applicants and students the hassle.

i am so dissapointed with this website

i am so dissapointed with this website, i have been in contact with them to help me with step 2 (system check) and all i got was "speak with your institution" or "reload the page" i have obviously tried this and if i could give no stars i would. no student should have to go through this dredful experience whilst stressing about an exam as it is. i will probably miss my exam because of the lack of help i have recieved.

An utter shambolic failure of a provider

I will not use the language that I feel like using to describe the service I have received today as it is certainly not polite! To summarise:
- Livechatted before the exam started to check that the form of I have is acceptable, which they confirmed it was
- Started the exam to be told the ID was not acceptable
- Advised I was going home to get alternative ID and would be back within the alloted timeslot given
- Got back with the ID within the timeslot and was told that the exam had been cancelled. Not advice given on how to rebook

Utterly dreadful service, this company cannot be relied on at all. I note that 90% of the reviews on here are 1 star and I can certainly see why. If you are a company considering employing Proctor to provide online exams I would urge you to urgently reconsider

NOT HAPPY WITH THE CUSTOMER SERVICE…

NOT HAPPY WITH THE CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM AND PROCESS OF PROCTOR EXAMS AS WHY WE NEED TO USE MOBILE CAMERA WHILE WE HAVE IN BIULT LAPTOP CAMERA???? WITHOUT GIVING TECHNICAL SUPPORT 2 TIMESWITHOUT PROPER TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND VOIDED MY EXAMS 2 TIMES. PROMETRIC IS WAY BETTER THAN PROCTORE EXAMS>

What an awful company this is

What an awful company this is. During an exam I took at home they repeatedly asked me to refresh my page, so I couldn't focus straight on the exam. After a while there was a major error on their side. My exam was broken off due to it and the only thing they could say was: you need to contact the exam company for rescheduling and book a new exam. The exam company couldn't do anything for me because they needed a registration number which I didn't have because my learning company booked it and is closed in the weekend. They wasted my entire weekend due to this. Awful!

Hopeless tech support.

A poor website.No guide as to how to download an extension in various browsers.I use microsoft edge and was told to install Chrome instead.This didnt work and they gave up and told me to contact my institution.
I then realised they had been giving me wrong advice so I went back to microsoft edge and figured out how to get the extension and now its ok.They wasted over two hours of my time.They just work off a script I suspect and have no knowledge of browsers other than Chrome.Pretty pathetic.

Horrible organisation and system. Avoid

Horrible organisation and system. There are so many things wrong with them from their awful customer service, appalling processes, lying and awful system that I don't even know where to start. Why is the regulator not doing anything about them and removing them from the market? Avoid any courses that uses this organisation for their exams and tests.

3 hours of troubles, and that just before an exam!

I wanted to do an exam at 11:00. Now it is 14:00 and I am still with support..... Trouble with browser. Trouble with camera: not working (it is working with other programs). Next: connection problems! My internet is really perfect. What a frustration!!!!

Terrible student experience

I was expected to use this today for my exam, however due to an IT failure I was told I was not allowed to continue. I now have to resit the exam at some stage.

Like the other 84% of negative reviews, student experience of using this software is appalling.

Awful everything and doesn't work.

I've only used ProctorExam once and I'd personally recommend that any institution considering it avoids it at all costs. The exam I was due to take failed to launch, technical help were unable to help and after over an hour of troubleshooting and restarting multiple times, I had to quit the exam.

This is not what you want when you are already stressed and supposed to be taking an exam.

Fine overall, but some checks are unnecessary and tricky to apply

Everything worked fine, and I liked the fact that you can't see anyone on the other side (although they can see you), as I thought I had to interact with a human being on camera.
I understand me being watched on my laptop camera, and sharing my screen, and I also understand I had to show I was alone in my room and that there was nothing on top or below my desk. However, what I don't understand is why, after all these checks, I also had to place my phone somewhere where they could see and me and my laptop screen...
This has been a bit tricky, as I had to be really creative, building something high up enough so they could see me and my laptop screen at the same time. All this while keeping my phone charged!
Not everyone has a desk behind or beside their desk... also with a close plug. I think watching us on camera is more than enough, especially after showing we are alone, there is nothing in our ears, there is nothing we can use on or near the desk, and we are also sharing our screen...

Terrible experience

Terrible experience. Sat a Maths exam which was approx 2.5hrs. I went through all the security checks and successfully completed the exam. A week later I was advised I had passed then approx 2 further weeks told I had not passed the security set up and they could not see my screen. Why did they let me continue to sit the exam. Awful, awful service. I’ve now got to do the exam again, really stressful

ABSOLUTELY RUBBISH - HORRIBLE!!!

ABSOLUTELY RUBBISH!!!

I did hundred times camera tests, phone test, MBM super speed connection, brand NEW COMPUTER (3 days old) and tested their supposed pre-test.(WICH WORKED PERFECT)

everything was fine, and during my CCL test camera stopped, kept disconnecting, and all buggy around, i am not sure if my test will be cancelled because of this rubbish app. but I cannot believe that SOME official government test authorities give the trust on this app. just see for yourself were ARE HUNDREDS to say the same!!

For me that test was really important for visa purpose and will suit them without doubt if this test will be cancelled...

please lawyer, people , stand for this and make them stop, is a SERIOUS PROBLEM to provide an UNSTABLE app for important test purpose...

Re-scan code several times on the cell phone

I used this app for giving my FRCO exam online. During the course of the exam the messages kept coming on screen informing me that they could not see me. I had to re-scan code several times during the exam. These interruptions made me nervous.

The exam as such did not have problems as the internet speed was good and I had no problems with submitting the answers on laptop.
I wrote to Royal college and they informed me that I needed to sort it out, technical issues.
I contacted Proctor app support chat, they kept saying it was internet speed related.
It was then I read the reviews, at least I do not feel so bad now. People have faced similar problems.

Worst app ever

I took an exam and apparently the mobile app disconnected during the exam, but I did not receive a notification. It's just the worst app I have ever used in my life. I cannot believe that there are institutions that use it.

A truly awful system

A truly awful system. It has clearly not been tested and appears to rely to heavily on an algorithm rather than actual observation/sense checks.

You need to have 2 different passwords and a log-in code to complete the exams. These are sent in an email but you are not allowed to have any tabs open so you are unable to retrieve them.

When submitted your final paper you must go through a tortuous three step process: Submission, Final, Log-out. How many times do you need to click "are you sure"? No doubt looking away even though you have submitted will be an automatic fail.

Cheating - should you wish to - would be ridiculously easy so any company relying on the results does so at their own risk. You are more likely not to pass through their untested processes and having to look up another password than being caught cheating.

As an employer I do not recommend this system. To candidates I feel sorry for you - they have managed to make sitting exams in person/live the easier option.

Other on-line proctoring systems are far superior.

I don’t recommend this platform at all

I don’t recommend this platform at all. If you can avoid using it that would be better for you. In my case I had to pass an English test called TOEIC and my score has been cancelled for reasons that I am not responsible for. I now have to pay for taking this test again. This is a shame
