PR for books did a great job for us, getting us a two page spread for the Diet-Whisperer book in the Daily Mail on Monday. We even got a banner on the front page. Still Working with writers on many more leads. Just about to go out for our second PR back up launch. In summary, Glenn and the team did what they said they would. Delighted with progress thus far.
Yet again PRforBooks has produced invaluable media interest in response to my press release, and in addition, when I ask Glenn to let me know more about the people who respond, I get a useful reply within minutes. Such great value - I'm so glad I found them!
PR for books drafted a powerful press release, which grabbed the attention of a number of journalists. I got requests for review copies and the best outcome was a double spread article in the Daily Mail, which of course catapulted the sales of my book From Victim to Victor - Narcissism Survival Guide.
Though being a little taken aback by some of the feedback I read, I decided to read the amazing work PR have done with some of their authors and went for it! I am very glad I did.
In the week since my PR went out, I have landed a huge marketing and review deal with Chick Lit Cafe books, I have been contacted by huge players in America called TaxiReview Books and January Magazine and am currently getting the ball rolling with them. I have now been guided to make my own website with my own domain and I doubt I would have gotten this far without PR. Glenn and his team have been brilliant and have even thrown in some extra's for me. What a service!
Within one week of engaging with Prforbooks they produced an excellent press release and had it out into the hands of the top reviewers around the globe. Then that same day I received a fabulous full page review of my book 'The Secret of The Alchemist' in Mail Online's Femail supplement, followed by a main feature interview with Scotland's Sunday Post book reviewer. An unexpected instant spin off was a shout out on Twitter and Facebook for the Mail Online article by Paulo Coelho himself and my book is now #1 in Hot New Releases on Amazon Books and we only started the publicity a week ago.
The best decision I made was to run my press releases through Prforbooks in conjunction with my own excellent online publicity team and get across the board coverage.
I will definitely continue to use them as we ramp up to the launch of my book and beyond.
5 stars for Glenn and the team at Prforbooks !
Wow! What a great service! The press release was of high quality! Less than 10 hours after the campaign launch, my book was featured in of the prestigious magazines on line! I could not have hoped for better results! Thank you!
Really appreciate the service that PR for Books provide. It's a very straightforward process dealing with them, and well-priced for the work and the connections they make. I've used them now for 6 of our titles having done an initial press campaign ourselves, and they really added value to what we had done. I am now using them for all forthcoming book releases. I can see a few negative reviews below, but my guess is that they are written by authors of books with no discernible market. Every author thinks they've written a best-seller, but the reality is so much different. You can't always blame the PR - look at the book first!
I wish I had read the other reviews before I parted with my cash. It sounds good and proactive on the website, but basically it is just a waste of money. They sent out a press release. That was it. They made no effort at all to promote me or my book. I actually had way more success from the press release I sent out myself when I published the book. They sent theirs to outlets I had told them I had already sent it to, making me look bad. All I got back was an inbox full of out of office replies. They did nothing proactive at all to promote the book. This was a complete and utter waste of money. DO NOT PART WITH YOUR CASH!
Really great. We have used PrForBooks for press release writing and distribution on a number of projects, to great success. Our most recent book has just been named DAILY MAIL 'Book of the Week'. The team at PrForBooks is professional, quick and efficient. Thank you! And we are looking forward to continuing to work with you.
Being a 1st time self-published author. I was eager but naïve when it came to get my book noticed.
I have no doubt that their writers are good that’s not the issue.
I also acknowledge that not everybody will engage in a press release when sent out. However, I would have thought it would have been more than 2, when over 5000 emails were sent. That’s a very poor ROI.
I had never seen a press release, so I had no idea what it looked like.
All I know is I showed 4 other PR people what they created for an opinion they felt it was bad, shockingly bad.
One quote from an established PR guy:
“Whilst I appreciate your sentiments about being a 'rookie', that in itself should not have had a bearing on the outcome of the campaign. On first glance, what in our view prevented media coverage was in fact the quality, somewhat sycophantic style of the release.”
All I can do is base my opinion and reviews on facts.
I provided them with what they called a “long winded” resource for their team to come up with a dynamic press release.
What I got were words used like my book was a “guide” (which it wasn’t), “balls to the wall, cairn call” (whatever that means) a press release that had no relation to the essence of my story or message. This was a red flag that I neglected.
This caused me to rewrite the most important bit, the first part. Another red flag neglected.
So, what essentially was sent out and the first thing people would see, were my own words. So the only thing I paid for were their contacts.
At the end of the day it was my fault I take full responsibility for not doing my homework and going with the first PR Company that caught my eye with their grandiose claims on their website.
For me it was a #lifelesson, don’t make the same mistake I did. Do your homework there more professional PR companies that will promote your book. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!
I just like to say pr for books has given me refund it did not work for me but they did there best so big thank for that for that down be put off they are good but PR Are dose not work for all
I used #Prforbooks to get the name out about my book pay £195 they sent out 4000 emails to get 23 out of the office and 20 not delivered but surely with 4000 emails, I did not get 4000 back why would they not check email address they send to check to see if works? I did get to the only 2 email of interest so sent out to book to get no reply at all I know it only first months to send 4000 emails out and not get 4000 back is a bit strange I have emailed the owner of business see what he has to say about it and hope I will be changed for me to say I had big success but not so far and I can see from some reviews on here had the same thing happen to think may because they just send out press release and no call contact at all but they don't tell you this when you pay for it and dose not say this on there web site IT end of the first month I gave away 2 books to not get anything back the owners say it my Book it not some thing the media are not interested in my book but I got 22 five stars on other book web site he did say over phone some books do not get any thing from PR he been running his business for 15 year so why would he not say i don't think your book be any good so i have say no to doing PR for your book with all the experience they have i would of respected that gone and found some one that dose being first time self publishing there some thing we need to look out for this may be one of them i got 8 weeks to go so I keep this update and let how goes for me

They wrote a nice review and sent it out. That was it. No follow up, no advice about how it worked. Apparently they will send out your press release 3 times within 3 months if you ask them. I only found this out when I phoned up to complain. By the way no one ever phoned me back after I had lodged a complaint.
"an inadequate experience" - no friction.
Same as last reviewer really, dozens of Out of Office emails and people asking us to pay to read our book.....little else.
It sold as a service that works, but we got little or no results. They simply have an email list that they email and you get a bunch of out of office replies. You are better off spending money on a real PR company. This will give you little or no effect in my experience. I would not use this service again or recommend it to anyone.
