Don't try and sell your business and move out. They wont allow it even if you tell them weeks (months) in advance and supply all the necessary documents. They will insist the new owner takes a contract with them (which is surely against the law). Truly awful customer service. Avoid at all costs.

UPDATE FOLLOWING POZITIVE ENERGY’S RESPONSE:
Pozitive Energy’s public response is materially different from the information I received while dealing directly with its customer-service and complaints teams.
It has taken repeated emails, several incorrect bills, a formal complaint, a deadlock letter and finally a negative Trustpilot review for the company to clearly confirm that the opening Day meter reading of 4,786 was not an actual reading, but an estimate calculated using the site’s Estimated Annual Consumption.
This basic explanation should have been provided at the start. Even now, Pozitive Energy has not provided the full formula, dates, consumption profile or supporting calculation used to produce that estimated reading.
The amount demanded has repeatedly changed from £194.22 to £398.19, then £852.56 and finally £626.19 after credits. Pozitive Energy’s own final response admitted that previous invoices were based on incorrect estimated readings.
Their deadlock letter described the additional £126.37 adjustment as a “unit rate difference” credit. Their Trustpilot response now describes it as a 15% reduction below deemed commercial rates. These may be the same adjustment, but customers should not have to guess. I have still not received a clear breakdown showing the original rates, revised rates, units involved and how the final balance was calculated.
Pozitive Energy has also now publicly stated that it does not hold a domestic supply licence. However, this still does not answer why my mum’s residential flat, which she occupies as her permanent home, remains treated as a business supply or what action the company is taking to allow the property to transfer to a domestic supplier.
Throughout this matter:
* My query was marked as resolved when it was not resolved.
* I was repeatedly directed to a customer portal that I had never been given access to.
* Important questions received generic or incomplete replies.
* I received repeated sales emails encouraging me to enter a two-year commercial contract while the billing dispute remained unresolved.
* Pozitive Energy failed to identify promptly that one of the opening meter-register readings was missing.
* Previous invoices were later admitted to be incorrect.
* The balance changed several times without a clear transaction-level explanation.
* My Data Subject Access Request was not properly addressed until the matter had reached the deadlock stage.
The customer service has been shocking. It should not take a public review for a customer to receive even a basic explanation of how an estimated reading was calculated, why the balance changed repeatedly or why a residential home remains on commercial rates.
Based on my experience, anyone seeking even a semi-decent response from Pozitive Energy appears to be better off leaving a negative Trustpilot review than trying to deal with its customer-service teams directly.
The matter has now been referred to the Energy Ombudsman, and Pozitive Energy’s Trustpilot response will be included as further evidence because it contains information that should have been provided clearly during the original complaint.

I received a call today from Pozitive Energy saying my Church's gas bill had not been paid. It is supposed to be on a Direct Debit and was paid by that method in May However the last 2 invoices have not been paid by Direct Debit for some reason. I rang Pozitive Energy and spoke to Sandeep Soni who was very helpful and polite in hopefully resolving the situation.
