Guisborough (Westgate) Post Office Staff

Having used Guisborough Post Office for many years I can say that the staff at the said counters are a credit to the service. They are always very helpful, pleasant and well informed. The atmosphere is one of friendly efficiency and professionalism.
I have a number of friends who travel to the Guisborough Westgate branch because of unhelpful or rude staff at their own local post office.
Well done to Guisborough Westgate and keep smiling.

My previous experience with Hornsey…

My previous experience with Hornsey post office has always been pleasant. However, on the 10th of April 2026, my opinion about their customer service changed.

Firstly, the postmaster could not find my parcel and claimed my package had not been delivered to the post office. Although I had shown him proof that it had been delivered, the postmaster was very rude, dismissive, and unprofessional.

The older postmaster is professional and friendly, but the younger postmaster is rude and unprofessional.

Secondly, the service I received was below average. There was no justification for this level of bad customer service.
I will not be using the Hornsey office again.

Furthermore, I have to stress that the older postmaster is always polite, friendly, and helpful. However, the younger postmaster is unprofessional, rude, unhelpful, and lacks customer service skills, which is ironic given that you're in a profession that serves the community.

I had a really disappointing experience rude staff!

I had a really disappointing experience at this Post Office. I went in to send a parcel through Vinted, which had already been paid for and had the measurements submitted correctly.

Despite this, the staff refused to accept the parcel and told me I needed to pay more. One member of staff even said, “you pay me more and we can scan your parcel,” and then laughed, which was completely unprofessional and disrespectful.

This made no sense, as everything had already been processed through Vinted. Even a Royal Mail driver who was there at the time confirmed the parcel size was acceptable and said he could take it, but the staff still refused.

They were rude, dismissive, and made the whole situation uncomfortable. I understand rules need to be followed, but this was handled in a very poor way.

Customers deserve to be treated with respect and given clear, accurate information this was not the case here.

HEELEY POST OFFICE

HEELEY POST OFFICE, 294 Gleadless Rd, Heeley, Sheffield S2 3AJ

Wanted to get a couple of postage stamps to post TWO letters on WED 8 APR 2026 at 14:15PM to find the shutters closed. A lot of people have previously commented that he opens when he feels like it. Terrible service! Why don't Royal Mail tighten up on lax post offices?

Had to walk to Shoreham Street post office😡😠

Dismal service

Sent a parcel back, had a notification to say it had started its journey. A few days later I received a £7 demand for unpaid postage I paid only to receive the same parcel back. I also sent a letter with claim form to ask for my £7 (with all my evidence)back only for this to be lost, even though I saw it go into s postage bag at the same post office.

Post office Horncastle

Post office Horncastle. Absolutely diabolical rude obnoxious members of staff! Unfortunately the place is small. No other Post Office. Most places you have a choice of which Post office you can go to. Not here! If you did a lot of people wouldn't go in! I don't expect to be shouted at by a member of your staff! Trouble is its a place with small town syndrome and Most do not get out of it! Thankfully I am!

Ramsey St Mary Post Office

Went in today with a Post Office compensation letter. I don't think the owner, Mr S Mohan, had ever seen one before. But with a great attitude he checked and sorted it for me. All done in a friendly and professional manner. Well impressed! Now my go-to Post Office!

Post office travel insurance

Collinson Group, operating under the Post Office travel insurance banner, delivers what can only be described as a masterclass in inefficiency, indifference, and systemic failure.

From the outset, dealing with them is an exercise in frustration. Communication is virtually non-existent—emails go unanswered, updates are never provided, and any attempt to obtain even the most basic information about a claim is met with silence or vague, unhelpful responses. There is no sense of ownership, no accountability, and certainly no urgency.

Their handling of claims is chaotic at best. The same documents are requested repeatedly, as though previous submissions vanish into a void. Progress is either glacial or entirely absent, with delays at every conceivable stage and no explanation offered. It quickly becomes apparent that no one within the organisation has a clear understanding of what is happening, or how to properly manage a claim.

Escalation? Forget it. There is no meaningful pathway to speak with anyone senior or capable of resolving issues. Complaints are treated with the same disregard as everything else—submitted into a system that appears designed to ignore them entirely. Responses, if they come at all, are late and inadequate.

Ultimately, the only viable route to action seems to be through the Ombudsman—an unnecessary and exhausting step that should never be required for basic service delivery.

This is not just poor service; it is a complete breakdown of customer care. For a company operating under a trusted banner, the experience is shockingly substandard. Avoid at all costs.

Why would you have the option to choose where you want your parcel to be delivered, but it takes 3 days to update that option? Disgusting service!!! Then you go to the post office to collect and there will be the most miserable woman in the world with a nasty attitude.
