Misleading Experience

Misleading Experience – Public Warning
I contacted this company after seeing their advertising suggesting they provide specialist support for police complaints. After submitting personal information and case details, no substantive advice or assistance was provided, and I received no clear update on the next steps.
From my experience, this feels more like a data-collection exercise than an actual legal service. In my opinion, people seeking urgent legal help should be aware that they may not receive the advertised level of support. Tell your partner to delete my data since you are the intermediary.
They don't reply.

Hi there, thank you for your comments. We can see on our system that your case was sent to our legal panel member, Satchell Moran Solicitors. They reviewed the case and decided that there wasn't sufficient evidence of police misconduct to continue with the case. I.e. there was a lack of prospects of the case succeeding. You will have received an email explaining this.

We would be happy to talk to you regarding this matter if you like. If there is anything else you require our side please let us know. Thank you.

Persistent Spam and GDPR Concerns — Avoid

I’ve been receiving a high volume of unsolicited spam emails from PoliceComplaint.co.uk, operated by Fairweather Group Ltd. Each message ends with the same disclaimer:

"Fairweather Group Ltd t/a PoliceComplaint.co.uk do not give legal advice or provide a legal service – we are a claims management company..."

I have never heard of Fairweather Group Ltd, never visited claim.co.uk or PoliceComplaint.co.uk, and certainly never opted in to receive marketing from them or any associated third parties.

The opt-out links in their emails don’t work. I contacted them directly to request the removal of my personal data and to stop the misuse of my email address — they ignored me. The spam continued, and my concerns about a possible breach of GDPR were left unanswered.

I’m absolutely confident I never consented to the use of my data in this way. This raises serious concerns about how Fairweather Group Ltd collects and shares personal information. Based on my experience, they appear to be misusing email addresses without proper consent.

I strongly advise others to steer clear of this organisation. If you receive spam linked to Fairweather Group Ltd, claim.co.uk, or PoliceComplaint.co.uk, leave feedback and report it. Companies that ignore data rights and profit from spam should be held accountable.

Hi there, thank you for the review. We would like to clarify a few points. We have received a copy of the email in question. As you can see on the "From" section, this was not sent by us but a third-party affiliate. We do not hold any of your data on our system. This third-party is the data controller and sends a number of emails to their opted-in database.

This means we are unable to remove your personal data from our system, because we don't hold any of your personal data. We can, however, assist you in determining why you have been placed on the third-party affiliate's list.

We would be happy to discuss this more if you require any more information. You can contact us directly on info@policecomplaint.co.uk.
