Food on the Rotterdam to Hull crossing…

Food on the Rotterdam to Hull crossing was poor compared to Zeebrugge to Hull crossing. Limited choice, luke warm overcooked mains, poor salad selection; good but limited desserts; nice cheese board; mediocre coffee. Breakfast was nothing to get excited about. Won't be choosing this crossing again if we can help it.

Do not eat the hotdogs

Do not eat the hotdogs, at £5 each they are abysmal, could barely bite through it, soggy bread bun and the less said about the sausage the better. P&O staff at Rotterdam where quite rude and unhelpful.
P&O made a mess of my booking saying I had to pay further fees on return journey, so because of there poor telephone sales department I was forced pay extra to get home for a cabin I had already paid for

Having a ticket does not guarantee travel

This morning, I was turned away from Dover to Calais ferry despite having a valid ticket and arriving on time. They told me that my space on the ferry was given away to someone else and apparently having a ticket does not mean anything "read Ts&Cs”. No compensation offered. Crap company and crap customer service.

Fed up of no competition at Dover calais to drive service

For the second time we have had to wait 3 hours to get on a ferry after sitting for over an hour in long queues at passport control. Everyone being I the same position how us it that they can't just fill the next ferry?! Admittedly they don't do the passport control but I can't believe there was any reason not yo put us on the next one as all who are booked on it will not get through in time to catch it.
Disgusting I think due to overbooking nothing else. With newborn baby and two other small children this is a nightmare!

Won't be travelling with P&O ever …

Won't be travelling with P&O ever again. We usually travel with our dog, from Liverpool to Dublin. Arrived at the port this time to be told, dogs can't travel on this route anymore. This is after years of travelling same route with no problem, we were told it was on their website. The woman staff member who told us clearly didn't think how big a deal this was to us, basically being told we couldn't get home with our dog. She said she'd phone her superior and did her best to get him to allow us onboard. She then came back and said we must have seen it on the website.

I mean if we had, why on earth would we have risked taking the chance. In the end he agreed to let us on. How ridiculous that this new rule hasn't been phased in gradually with better notification.

Anyway we finally go on board to a freezing ship, cold air was blasting out through the vents, (freezing january day) breakfast was being served. Cold everything, the sausage was rock hard and had some kind of spice in them, not breakfast sausage anyway. We were starving so ate it but definitely didn't enjoy it. We noticed new seats, but with low down arm rests that were neither use or ornament, presumably to make sure no one lies down (probably to encourage you to get a cabin), there were no sockets to plug in your phone or tablet in.I know there used to be but P&O don't seem to care anymore for their passengers needs.

Anyway had to keep coat, hat and scarf on for duration of crossing because of cold air blasting through the vents. Appalling that P&O care so little for their passengers needs. In future it will be Irish Ferries or Stena for us, and that's not just because of the dog policy. P&O do not care for their passengers needs. Shameful service imo.

Horrible horrible disgusting experience

On P&O ferry Dec 24 1:35 am. Absolutely horrible horrible disgusting experience. We were directed to go up the ramp on the empty lane and when we reach the top one of the staff gives us a dirty look and rudely commands us to a row to park. Naturally we don't choose the path up the ship - that would be chaos. Perhaps you should invest in training your staff about communicating with each other and passengers instead of venting out on passengers.
Inside is another nightmare. Looks like Former USSR style furnishings. And I might have a guess as to when it was last cleaned? Maybe before the wall came down? The whole passenger area stinks of urine. I can smell urine while I'm eating.
I'll continue to use DFDS.

Never Ever use them - Arrogant to the Sky

1 sentence that summarises them - arrogant to the sky and treats customers like cattle. There is a deep-seated rotten culture within the company. This cascades to the staff - both in UK & Europe.

Most customers use them since there is no alternative (no other ferry service is available).

Me and my family have decided after horrible and inhuman experiences with them, that we will never ever use them. I would rather take a plane and rent a car rather than use their ferry.

So be it. On the other hand, we use DFDS - Boy what an opposite they are.

P&O you need to sort this out I am disgusted

I have never experienced anything like this. We travelled on Ventura from Southampton to Belgium. My partner had only been on the ship for just over 12 hours before coming violently ill. I followed this a few hours later and we spent the whole trip cabin bound apart from the Friday night.
We were with a group of 15 for my 50th birthday but luckily nobody else in our party became sick but they did report lots of people still wandering around the ship complaining of sickness and diarrhoea. They also commented on the strong smell of faeces down some of the cabin corridors.
What frustrated me is the fact we reported my partner's sickness immediately to a crew member and he sent cleaners to sanitise the cabin. The following day when I was sick we went to the medical centre but nobody was there. As we went back to the cabin we saw the same crew member who was informed I too was sick. We received a call from the medic telling us off for not reporting it immediately - I had reported it to cabin crew. If they don't pass that information on how are we to blame.
As if that isn't bad enough they have charged my bill to my credit card which I agree with but in addition they have charged a further whopping £732 to my card and this morning have tried to tell me it is casino charges and it’s on my statement. No its not I have my FINAL statement in front of me. I have since found out from the 7 couples we travelled with they have done this to 4 of us. It’s an absolute disgrace and I cannot believe such a large company can behave so appallingly.
They charged further additional charges of £9.80 for I am assuming the mini bar when we were told this was free due to being cabin bound. What are we supposed to drink to keep our fluids up as recommended by your medic when it takes them 40 minutes to deliver water to us?
When we were leaving the corridors were obviously busy. We were told by 3 separate crew members to go to 3 different levels. The third one told us to 'move along' we couldn't because of the people in front of us which the crew member could clearly see. When we didn't move she said 'did you not hear or did you not understand when I told you to move'. How rude is that
P&O you need to make some changes. Send your cabin crew and some customer service training and put up some signs regards Norovirus (your medics diagnosis of us) or any type of sickness. I am not convinced anyone knew if they were being sick etc that they should seek guidance from the medical team if it was anything other than motion sickness.
I feel due to the circumstances and the levels of stress P&O have caused they should at the very least get the additional charges removed from my card. Reimburse me for the cost of the cruise or offer a further cruise of the same value and CALL ME BACK as I was told I would receive a call urgently when I called at 8am. It’s now 10@:49 and nothing but I cannot say I am surprised but does this mean in addition to my 15-20 minute call this morning I have to make a further call to your astronomically high call charges call centre to ensure you sort out YOUR error.

Worst experience ever

Worst experience ever! bad smelly low class ferries plus rude and cowboy type staff.
I called the POFerry to know the time of departure and to let them know that the traffic is jam because of a long que on the immigration window, I was just 5 minutes late in reaching the suggested boarding point time. t heir ferry was late. Phone operator had no information about ferry delay time and lied that next ferry is very expensive and charged me £84.00 unfairly. I was travelling from Netherland and ETA time was 1.5 hours in advance but due to traffic jam and accidents I just arrived 5 minutes late. DFDS is much better than this company, its free to board in Second ferry if you miss the one even for their economy cheap tickets.
Wifi was not working and exchange rate was too much high. There is no complain process as well. I will straight complain to UK trading agency or Financial Ombudsmen.

Ok the boat was fine but I am outraged …

Ok the boat was fine but I am outraged by their phone charges.

They charged me over £39 to book a ferry from their UK call centre on my UK phone while I am in The UK.

That is absolutely criminal and they never told me that it was a super high cost call to wait to speak to a person.

Absolutely deplorable behaviour by a previously respectable company.

I will drive to the Hull port and book face to face in future, it will cost less than £10 in petrol.

I bet these rob dogs will try to charge me £7 car parking while I book a passage!

couldn't care less

couldn't care less, brasserie closed when listed as should be open, dirty, food in food court unappetising and not pleasant. I used to think that it was impossible to slip beneath the standard of dfds cross channel ferries but over the last year p and o have forced their standards to a new low. When will they realise that there exists a large population who would choose to travel on a vessel where proper restaurant facilities, properly prepared and served, are available. The staff don't like the deterioration in standards and are happy to share that unhappiness.
