Mark Lee
The Owner of this flight school is Mark Lee of Eden Flight Training which was based at Teesside Airport. He now supplies flight training from Bagby Airfield. My teenage son lost hundreds of pounds that he struggled to save to this scammer, and it is my personal opinion that his new business may well be just a carbon copy of his previous. PLEASE LOOK-UP OPENBLUEFLIGHTTRAINING ON TRUSTPILOT!
Fraudster
Like everyone else commenting on this now closed business, this guy Mark Lee who lives locally is a complete fraudster.
I suspect he's linked to the PPLcruiser business also running out of Teesside airport, and I'd like to know if he has any connections with the new flight training company.
Eden Flight trading no longer trading.
Just found out Eden are no longer trading and cannot be contacted at their airport address or the parent company ppl cruisers .could.uk whose phone lines are disconnected. Bought a £150 gift voucher for my sons Christmas present. Found out by accident they were no longer honouring their commitments. Very very disappointed.
DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS…
DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS COMPANY OR IT'S OWNER MARK LEE.
Like many people who have already posted reviews on this site I have potentially lost a huge amount of money due to the activities of this company.
I enrolled for LAPL pilot training with this company, paid 50% of the training cost (£2600) for one of their training packages in April 2024.
I then spent months trying to get the training to start. Phone calls, emails and WhatsApp messages were sent and ignored. In July I even sent Mark a message saying I still wanted to go ahead with the training but if they could not supply it, I wanted my money back....no reply.
I finally managed to speak to a member of staff when I physically turned up at their new offices in tees-side airport terminal in September 2024. (I fully expected to see signs saying not known at this address).
I was sent an email with a schedule of lessons. The first 2 were cancelled due to weather conditions and aircraft unservicability.
The day the 3rd was due, I messaged the instructor to confirm everything was good to go. He replied that the previous week, the company had gone into Administration.
I rang Mark and asked for my money back, surprisingly he answered straight away and calm as you like advised me to claim the money back from my card company!
Unfortunately for me I used my debit card rather than a credit card and so it looks highly unlikely I will be getting anything back that way.
At this moment Administrators have been appointed and it appears there in no money there either, due to the debts owed.
The company had a duty of care with the money I paid them for my training course. It was to pay for my flight training not to keep his failing company afloat.
WHEN HE COULD NOT DELIVER THAT TRAINING HE SHOULD HAVE RETURNED MY MONEY!!
I am sure there will be more people with the same story to tell. If the owner of this company had any decency and honour he would reimburse people from his own assets. I intend to pursue this as far as I can go.
The Administrators have said they have had no instructions from Eden Flight Training at the moment so are they still trading in some form or other?
SCAM
Lost my money by booking flying experience with this company. They cancel the flights an hour before. Never reply to mails and never answer the calls. BIG SCAM. Please don’t book with them. Now it is showing temporarily closed.
Complete scam
Complete scam. I booked a voucher through the website and was immediately contacted requesting BACS payment due to Mark Lee stating he was changing the payment system. Stupidly I did. I now have no voucher, no refund to my original payment and also a BACS fee I am unable to claim back. I will be disputing the credit card payment and then investigating small claims court. This company is not operating but are still taking people's hard earned money. The owner is a disgrace to the Ex Armed Forces Community to which I also belong. No integrity whatsoever and preying on people. Do not fall for anything and do not give them any money.
They have went bust
They have went bust. We had a voucher and could never get through to book. We did a charge back and luckily got our money back from the bank.
Scam don’t use stay away LIARS
Booked 2 hour flight experience for my 2 children in dec 2022 and said the same shitty excuses weather etc and technical issue no refund just vouchers for another date, I will be taking this up with my bank provider to see if I can get it back but disgusting behaviour via communication stay away scam
Don't touch them. A complete scam
Purchased a voucher in sept 2022 for a flying experience and for two years the company have cancelled every experience using either the weather or technical plane issues. They are just excuses. They refuse to give or even discuss a refund. Happy to take your money and not provide a service. Never reply to emails. They dont read messages and their phone line is either unavailable or answerphone full. A complete set of toss*rs. Dont waste your time or your money. A complete scam.
They should be wearing a mask!
My wife bought me a 1 hour flight experience for me for Christmas 2022 and I still haven't had my flight! That short statement there should tell you everything you need to know about this company. I am booked in for my flight tomorrow and can't get in touch with anyone to confirm this and they are ignoring emails. I have had 4 flights cancelled and every time I try to rebook, if I can contact them that is, it's another 4 or 5 months time. It looks like we will never get our money back so please don't waste yours. This company should be investigated! Maybe they already are.....
Utterly apporling customer service
Utterly apporling customer service. I understand cancelling lessons because of the weather, however making no attempt to reschedule experiences when the weather is good and "forgetting" about appointments.
Happy to take your money, no intention of ever giving people the flights they have paid for.
Terrible terrible terrible absolute…
Terrible terrible terrible absolute scamming company they take your money in advance for the flight experience you will never have, no communication nothing avoid avoid avoid any complaints should also be lodged with the Civil aviation authority
Would not recommend
I bought an Eden Flight Training voucher for my husband’s 40th birthday.
At first we couldn’t contact them regarding the voucher, as I didn’t receive a confirmation email. Tried to call a mobile number, landline (mail box was full), WhatsApp, email. Finally they replied to a Facebook message on their public page and said they would get back to me. They never did. Eventually the voucher arrived.
Same problem trying to get in touch to book the flight. Tried all forms of communication again without any success! Luckily I bought it through PayPal and managed to claim the money back.
Someone else also got in contact after seeing my Facebook message to warn me. He was also trying to claim his money back.
Would not recommend! Terrible when you can’t even book what you have paid for.
Avoid at all costs
Purchased starter pack for my son’s birthday present. As with many other reviewers I tried for months to get in contact, emails, WhatsApp, phone calls and even visited the airport in person.
Always either ignored or full of excuses.
In the end I had to raise a chargeback claim via my bank.
Luckily I have had a far better experience with another local flight school.
Honestly can’t understand how this company is still operating.
Unreliable
3rd time Son has travelled to Teesside to do lesson and there's always an excuse. Reading reviews that are so bad seems like he's not the only one!
Terrible company
Terrible company took my wifes money for a voucher for my birthday then refused to get in contact with me or my wife when trying to book through email, facebook and WhatsApp when tried phoning on both numbers nobody ever answers the phone
TERRIBLE COMPANY
TERRIBLE COMPANY. I don’t normally do reviews, but felt like I needed to warn other people about this company. Would give 0 stars if I could. Tried ringing, emailing, contacting on WhatsApp and Facebook messenger and no response for weeks and weeks. Eventually I got the odd reply here and there after posting on their Facebook posts, but after numerous attempts to book my son’s flight, they just kept ignoring me. Many messages that I had written on their Facebook posts got deleted and eventually when I requested a refund, they blocked me on social media. They are advertising for new customers to spend money with them, but are not letting people who have already given their hard earned money the opportunity to book the flight they are entitled to. Clearly having issues, but are not being honest with customers. Eventually went through the credit card company to get money back. DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY!!!! I now have one upset son, who cannot do his birthday present!
Amazing!!
Eden Flight Training has been brilliant in helping me get my PPL license. A huge thank you to everyone who helped me get to where I am now, and I’m looking forward to many more flights!
DO NOT GIVE THIS “COMPANY” ANY OF YOUR MONEY
AUGUST 2023
I purchased a ‘4 hour starter pack’ voucher for myself as after speaking to Mark Lee ‘head of training’ (listed as managing director on companies house) he assured me I could be out flying the following week.
After 2 weeks of being ignored or given excuses i requested a refund and suddenly i was booked in for a flight within 2 days, which was then cancelled due to weather (understandably).
After another 2 weeks of ignorance and delay tactics i gave up and told myself I would try again once the weather improved in the summer of 2024 so that Eden had no excuses.
JUNE 2024
I called the office hoping to arrange a flight and spoke with Lynn Lee (Mark Lee’s mother & office admin) who advised me to contact Mark direct to arrange booking a flight. I attempted to contact Mark multiple times to arrange this, but was ignored.
JULY 2024
After a month of trying to contact Mark via mobile, WhatsApp and iMessage i continued calling the office number and eventually spoke to Lynn again and requested a refund, Lynn said she would discuss with Mark and update me. I had to battle to speak to Lynn again but a couple of days later she advised the refund had been ‘left with Mark’ but that funds would be back with me within 10 working days.
After this, Eden completely cut off all contact with me so i raised a dispute with PayPal for the payment.
I was forced to drive to the office at the airport terminal to try and get answers but after banging on the door for 15 minutes, there was no answer.
The airport staff advised that there had been other disgruntled customers trying to get answers too. I posted a note under the office door and sent a picture of it to Mark via iMessage.
Shockingly, after weeks of ignorance he replied within ONE MINUTE advising:
“Hi Leon,
You’ve already put the PayPal claim in so you’ll receive the refund through them 👍”
I replied and called Mark immediately to discuss but of course he didn’t answer. Mark & Lynn clearly had no intention of ever arranging the refund, I’m thankful i paid via PayPal credit and had protection.
AUGUST 2024
After a 2 week dispute with PayPal, they closed the case in my favor and refunded me the £395.
SUMMARY
Eden Flight School are consistently taking money for vouchers and courses with no intention of providing the service, with the odd few as an exception.
There have been multiple replies to their posts on different social media platforms from upset customers that have had a similar experience to me. Eden are quick to delete these comments to protect their deteriorating reputation. It’s embarrassing that they cant respond to customers as quick.
PLEASE check other reviews on TripAdvisor, TrustPilot & Google, they speak for themselves, and the fact they have their facebook reviews turned off speaks volumes.
Mark Lee, is a sophisticated scammer, please do not trust him or his mother Lynn with your cash. It is not worth it.
I don’t know how Mark sleeps at night after ripping off so many people, especially when his home address is readily available on the internet for anyone to find.
