Repeatedly misidentified my late mother's gender in correspondence
I contacted Phillips & Cohen as executor of my late mother's estate. Despite explicitly correcting them twice in writing, they continued to refer to my late mother — a woman — as "Mr" rather than "Ms" in their correspondence, including in their final reply.
For a firm that specialises in bereavement accounts and promotes bereavement support in every email, this is a surprisingly basic and repeated failure. I would expect better attention to detail when dealing with a deceased person's estate.

Compassionate and understanding customer service during a difficult time
I recently had to contact the team regarding my late mum Janet’s Argos card account, and I cannot thank them enough for the kindness and professionalism they showed throughout the process.
Lilly, the customer service representative I spoke with, was incredibly supportive, patient, and understanding from the very beginning. She offered her sincere condolences and handled everything with genuine compassion, which made a very difficult situation much easier to deal with emotionally.
Lilly explained everything clearly, helped us resolve the account efficiently, and ensured we were able to bring the matter to a respectful closure. It’s rare to experience such empathy and care in customer service, and I’m truly grateful for the support we received during such a sensitive time.

Compassionate and Helpful
Everyone I have spoken too, which has been a few for reasons I will mention, have all been extremely compassionate and helpful and explained everything in detail. However the reference number given wouldn’t be accepted by the automated service and so I had to call back again. Also when I received a letter from you I tried to make the payment online but it wouldn’t accept the details I entered despite all of them being correct. Also on my first attempt to use the automated payment service when I was first put through despite me waiting a few seconds I was cut off and had to start the whole process again with someone else. I have spoken to four people now who have all been lovely but your systems clearly do not work correctly
