Band in a box well what can I say

Band in a box well what can I say, after using it for over 30 years its finally messed up big time. I bought the add on for it called lyricLab and that was bugged up and despite constant emails got no reply from them so PayPal had to refund me. Now the main program itself is so bugged up it keeps crashing when trying to load a audio file and split the stems. Since the last one or two all I keep getting is constant crashing from this program and after all these years am seriously thinking of giving it up.

Why The Hell Is Wrong With PG Music?

Kindly said, what the hell is wrong with PG Music? I placed an order for their Audiophile package on October 2, 2025. Their company billed my PayPal account for $374 on October 4, 2025. But 11 days later I still hadn't heard a word from PG Music. I never received my order confirmation, download links or a receipt. I also paid for the external hardrive, which didn't arrive. So I contacted PG Music and they said the discounted Audiophile package I ordered is only for people who've previously ordered the Audiophile version.

Now, I did order previous Audiophile versions in 2010, 2016 and 2022, but since I only order every few years, as much as I try to keep up with all my accounts and passwords, I simply forgot that I had an existing account at PG Music. I just placed the order on October 2, 2024. BUT WHY THE HELL DIDN'T PG MUSIC CONTACT ME? That is why I am upset. No one said a damn word, they just blew me off and moved on to the next customer, while taking my $374. That is unethical and very wrong! You don't just bill someone $374 and then forget about them, waiting for that disgruntled customer to call to see what is going on.

When I used their chat support on October 13, 2025 on the PG Music website, I was asked if I wanted to receive a transcript of the session, and I affirmed "Yes I do!" Well, they never sent me the transcript when we were done, and in hindsight I can see why, because in the session I asked the sales person, "WHY didn't anyone bother to contact me from PG Music about my order?” He refused to answer my question. Why did they just take my money and forget about me? That would piss anyone off!

SHAME on PG Music! You need to start treating your customers a whole lot better! This is bad management.

At first

At first, Realtracks may seem an indispensable tool for composers; but after a closer look, there are many professional features not available.

For example, users cannot create "soloist" files, regardless of the many excellent musicians around. Also, when creating a "solo" with a "soloist" there can be "copyright strikes", and PG Music basically does not care whether this is the case. PG Music may even sign an NDA with Google and other media companies, limiting your use of Realtracks.

As a practice tool, PG Music's BIAB does not create the right "groove" or "harmony" to really allow intensive study of bebop or modern jazz and I would not advise the tool for music instructors. After using Realtracks to generate only 1 STEM for saxophone solo (only low resolution available) and getting nothing but problems with all kinds of "copyright strikes", I can say with certainty that PG Music is basically a scam company.

Perhaps in the future they will clean up their game, but right now it's nothing but a sophisticated music industry scam and a bad teacher.

PG Music Band in a box software

I had a problem with error messages when trying to install BIAB. I contacted PGMusic helpline and within minutes was able to load the software. Very impressed with their customer service so I thought I would say so.

Terrible experience with these people

Terrible experience with these people. I got stung for £47.67 by UPS for UK VAT and handling.
There was no warning from BIAB when I made the purchase.
WARNING DO NOT ORDER ANY TANGIBLE GOODS ONLINE ONLY
The product is pretty average too

PG music's 2019 Band in a Box trouble ridden

I've used many versions of band in a box through the years and currently own 2014 and the brand new 2019 ultra pak version of band in a box. My new version does NOT work correctly and I've put it on 2 separate computers which I bought to used this product on. Without including the price of their software I'm down now around $1000 US currency. I've called, emailed and live chatted with them since December 17 2018 and it's now Jan 21st 2019 and I'm beyond fed up with it not performing. I wouldn't buy this product if I were you unless you've a brand new gaming computer and have faith in their support otherwise stay very far away. The 19 version has almost got me fired and have had to use to 14 version since the new one live is useless. Jim Graves

For Aspiring Musicians Going DIY Like Myself, This Software Is Studio Nirvana

Writing Positive Reviews like this are easy. They just flow for all of the right reasons and it's a Joy to be able to champion a cause which deserves to be recognised for doing all of the right things to make one feel at least, appreciated for having spent their hard earned...

As a musical studio newbie I was introduced to Band-in-a-Box via a friend around the year 2000, and from that day to this, it has made my learning and composing music a Real Joy...

From the days I started until now they've much improved the BBs, which is their only software package I can speak about using, and it's gone from a midi-only platform to improving to Live Session Players over the various incarnations, which from the very off give the uninitiated like myself an Immediate sense of performance and success.

However I'm not here I guess to review that particular product, but rather the company.

SOFTWARE:
Band-in-a-Box, The Full Audio File Version is Faultless with many add-ons, and includes lessons etc., but essentially the Live Players make this a studio must have if you're on your own.

PRICES:
Always fair with upgrades seamlessly integrated into selective previous versions, and the full-USB breakout box is a Fantastic travelling studio companion.

CUSTOMER CARE:
Out of the US to the UK has never been a problem, with my E-mails usually responded to within 48hrs at the latest for any query I've ever offered over these seventeen years.

It's been a Joy to work with Band-in-a-Box these years, and although I would have completed my album without it (and Did on earlier drafts), the additional live players offer a much more Professional and Live Studio sound and Feel. For better or worse, this product can be heard on my own album, where it's my only source of accompanying musicians apart from my guitars, bass and vocals of course, and with a little bit of light detective work, anybody interested should be able to find those recordings from my name at the bottom of this review, from which to better hear how one person in a studio can sound Something like a real band, I Hope!

I am eternally Thankful to 'PG Music' for this product!

RECOMMENDATION TO DIY MUSICIANS AND FRIENDS:
Absolutely...

Sincerely Yours Mister Limpopo (for David Okangba, Penzance, Cornwall, England)
