You have to pay to update your address!
They charge fees to update the owner’s address!!! How many pets could not be reunited with their family just because of the cost to change the address of their owners? They are making profits out of lost pets and their loving owners still hoping they might find them after several years, this is absolutely disgusting.

PETtrac does not receive any government funding for providing a 24/7 reunification service, nor do we receive any of the fee that is paid to the vet for the implantation of the microchip and the registration of the microchip is free of charge. Because of the 24 hour service we are providing, this needs to be funded somehow so that we can always be here for you and your pet if they were to ever go missing.
Unlike some databases systems who have introduced compulsory upgrade charges or in some cases, even monthly or annual fees, PETtrac have tried to keep charges low. We allow pet owners to update their telephone numbers free of charge and there is only a small fee of £6 for a full change of address. For those likely to change address on multiple occasions, there is also an optional one off fee to cover change of details for the lifetime of their keepership.
In the situation of a missing pet, if the pet owner is not able to pay the £6 fee at the time we will always take new address details over the phone, and payment can be made at a later time. We do not want the fee to be a barrier to updating details, but we do also need to be able to fund the 24 hour service we provide.

Be aware that these scammers will not change your address without charge on the database, once registered unless you subscribe to their 'premium' service so unless you are never moving house again i would ensure your vet uses a competitor, or stump up 7.50 per time, per pet

Terrible! Have wasted so much time and gone round in circles to transfer ownership. Cant do online, cant do by phone both of which it says I can on website. Made 3 calls, numerous time on website, emails, the lot! If you want a torturous transfer system then go ahead with these!!

Professional and extremely efficient pet microchip registration service
Our dogs have lived in another country, thus having two microchips in their bodies (one UK and one overseas). We have difficulty registering both microchips on the same dog in other databases.
When we sent a message to PETtrac through their website, the customer service replying (Constance) is extremely helpful and patient throughout the back-and-forth of emails, guiding us through the microchip registration while providing immediate response and efficient solutions to our every problem.
They are also so kind to offer adding relevant notes to their records for easier further cross reference and waiving some of the charges, even they have already had to go through so much trouble and extra work to have our dogs registered.
Would recommend to all pet owners, especially for pets with trouble registering their overseas microchips.

Error on account, quickly resolved.
Recently set up an account re registering nine puppies, unfortunately we made an error entering out details.
This resulted in not being able to see the registered litter, after a phone call and speaking to the two girls in the office, this was quickly resolved.
The girls could not have been more helpfull, a credit to the company.

Cat Rescue made easy.
Running a rescue is extremely stressful at the best of times and so anything that makes our lives easier we are extremely grateful for. Our account with Pettrac is so easy to use and easy to keep track of of our rescue cats. They action transfers quickly and if we ever have any issues (mainly me spelling the names wrong on the transfers!) a quick email to them and it is sorted straight away. They are always helpful, friendly and efficient on the phone. We have dealings with many microchip companies and pettrac by far are the nicest and easiest to deal with. All of us at Cat Friends rescue would highly recommend them.

Recently moved house and have a multi dog household, some of my dogs are registered with Petlog and some with PETtrac. I amended free of charge the dog’s registered with Petlog and was disgusting at being charged £6 per dog to change my address with PETtrac. Why are you charging for change of address… no wonder people don’t amend their dogs details when they move and if stray dogs come in and are scanned, you can’t find their owners. There’s no paperwork involved in change of address as it’s all done on a computer… 2 mins of a job. Scandalous in my opinion.

As an organisation we are here 24 hours a day, 365 days a year where our team are on hand to assist with reunification in case your pet(s) go missing.
We receive no external funding and the cost to microchip the pet in the first instance is paid to the vet. Rather than charging an annual or monthly fee, we make a small charge when people move instead, as a cost towards providing our service.
With regards to the other database you have mentioned, as their website details there are charges so I can only imagine that you or someone on your behalf has previously paid to upgrade your records to their premium service, which allows you to make changes to your details at no extra charge. PETtrac have a similar service to this, so please contact us if you would like more information and so that we can assist.

Gemma and the team excellent
Spoke to Gemma yesterday after realising that one of my dogs wasn’t registered. I called after receiving an email asking if the details for one of my dogs was still current. Which was a great prompt. Gemma went above and beyond, talking me through registering and advising me on how I can transfer one of my old dogs transferred to them from another company. They are always so easy to deal with. Highly recommend.
