$100 Wedding Gift Gone

We received a $100 Visa GiftCard for a Wedding gift, and receipt was not included. We went to use it a year later and it was declined multiple times. I called customer service (5+ times because they were 'busy'). I was then given a list of items to fax to visa and told to call back 3 business days after faxing the documents. I called yet again, 3 more times before someone answered. I told them what had happened and that I was I checking on the receipt of my fax, they asked if I had the receipt. I said no it was a wedding gift and the receipt was not provided. They then proceeded to tell me they couldn't do anything about it since I did not have the receipt and that the first person I spoke with should have told me that. I am now unable to use the $100 gift and Visa now gained $100. DO NOT PURCHASE THESE CARDS!!!!

The Perfect Gift Visa is a ripoff and theft

We were given The Perfect Gift Visa card for $100.
The card was purchased in May 2021. We received the card in late September 2021. It already had an expiry date of January 2022. Really? A gift card expires in 3 months. We went to use it today to find out it has expired and account closed. This is a RIPOFF and theft. They got $100 for doing nothing. A gift card should never expire. NEVER buy this card. VISA should NOT have anything to do with this company. I will contact VISA and complain. They should never have any affiliation with this company. I will ask that they cease any relationship with this company or I will tear up my VISA card.

It seems that they don’t have any intensions to help me out. I provided all the requested documents that they asked for in your first email and now they want more from me.

All this for $25.00. My time is worth more than that. I have read all lots of bad reviews in regards to getting credits back. They just provide it. A very disappointed customer that will never use or purchase a visa gift card and make sure to share my negative experience to all.

Do NOT purchase this product

I wish I would have read the reviews before I purchased several gift cards for my company. I have had over 20% of the cards compromised due to the lack of security on their end. All they had to say is I am sorry you have been a victim of cyber fraud.

I would NOT buy this product

A bunch of scammers and thieves are running this company. Shame on visa that works with them. They sell one gift card number to different people and don’t take responsibility of that. They just stole $200 from me! Shame on you all.

SUNWOO DO WHAT DODGY DEALERS DO!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SCAMMED!!!! My experience is of CHEATS AND LIARS, THIEVES AND FRAUDSTERS. They told me I had won an iPhone and like an idiot I believed them, having had congratulations with confetti saying I was the 20000th customer (or similar special number) and that I had won the chance to win an iPhone. I just had to guess which of 9 boxes the iphone was in and I had 3 chances. I got it on the second go and seriously believed I had won it, from all they stated. I filled in the form and naively gave cards details as the only alleged payment was for the shipping of the phone. Then somebody rung me up and told me my card had not worked and they wanted to help me out, and they congratulated me on the win! they affirmed that I had won a phone. NONE of that was true!!! But it was believable!!! I gave them my bank details, as I had only just had a new card and thought that was why it had not worked. But I only realized after that they took account number and sort code and it was from that that they set up a direct debit. Money went from my account beyond the $2 shipping, and was a monthly payment. Despite of stating in no uncertain terms that I did not agree to any gift card company online and I did not confirm by clicking into the confirmation button, they continued to take the money. When i complained they even alleged that they stopped the payments, but they had not done so, and money went out; it was only when I contacted the bank, that the bank stopped the payments, and thankfully returned my money under the direct debit scheme that they can. Undoubtedly a bunch of fraudsters. They write in french to begin with, and hope you cannot understand and pretend to have all very English names, but I notice they are a company claiming to be Sunwoo Ltd (written at the bottom of the email in small writing).
SUNWOO DO WHAT DODGY DEALERS DO! NOTHING NICE OR PERFECT ABOUT THE CHEATING CORRUPT CRIMINAL YOU!
SUNWOO STEAL, SUNWOO DO!

Like everyone says

Like everyone says, this card is a scam to take money. Nothing should activate monthly fees at the purchase time if it is a gift card. What a waste of money. Visa should not attach their name to this scam.

I called the number on the card and they said they would fix it by sending something to my email, but they did not. I will call Visa next to tell them to stop serving this fraudulent company.

I can only echo everyone's comments

I can only echo the comments of the many stated below while musing over how the card could be called "The Perfect Gift". I assumed as long as I used the card in its entirety prior to expiration date, everything would be ok. Problem is that upon purchase the cashier at the store actually activates the card and now the clock starts ticking; before you know it, monthly service fees have evaporated your entire balance and you have no recourse. Why anyone would buy such for a gift or any other purpose is rather dumbfounding!

Fees

We’ve received these numerous times and they’re a nuisance. Monthly service fees for what? I’m still within the expiry date? Now if I get one I use it immediately to gas up then transfer the kids cash to use on their debit cards so they don’t lose out again and have asked the family to just give the kids cash.

Just got a perfect gift.ca card put 150 dollars on it. Opened the sealed package 2hours later to book a camp site online and I had 10.32 balance left on the card When I tried to use it. Someone had already spent 139.68 before I even opened the sealed package. The company took my phone call and I am still waiting for an email or some further response or help. Ridiculous

NEVER BUY THESE CARDS!!!!

I was given a $50 card as a gift, forgot about it for a year and a half. I went to activate it today as stated on the front of the card. I saw that they have been deducting $3 a month from me and I only had $5 left as a balance on the card. I called their customer service, which loops you around so much because they obviously don't want you to contact them. I found out, first off, that to "activate" the card actually costs $5. So just by buying the card you have already lost $5 of your money. I told him per the card agreement that I activated it today and they shouldn't have been deducting money from me. He said the moment the card was purchased is the activation and me calling in today was "registering" the card, which is not what the front of the card said nor did the website say. I complained and he couldn't have cared less and didn't offer any solution other than I was out of luck. This is an absolute scam of your money! Just give someone cash, I beg you not to buy these as gifts. I would give less than 1 star if I could, this is a terrible business.

Id give this less than zero if it were…

Id give this less than zero if it were possible. If you dont use it quickly, the $3.00 "monthly maintenance fees" will eat up your balance, in some kind of convoluted circle jerk. Thanks for the $110-I mean $38, Coworkers. What is the maintenance fee for? Why are they charging $36 a year for holding my money? We all know they are using that capital already anyway. We also all know that gift cards, even when they dont have declining balances, are only redeemed 65 to 90% of the time. So, instead of being happy with taking our money today and then later paying back only 90 cents on the average dollar, these greedy shithawks also start helping themselves to the rest of it. Their FAQ seem to pretend that noone is asking this question, as if the erosion of your asset isnt the most important material detail they should be telling you. There is no way that burying the info about this monthly fee that deep in the cardholder agreement equals sufficient disclosure for material information that is extremely critical to ensure the continued worth of the asset you are now unfortunate enough to own. I hope the executives at Peoples Trust and their account liaison at Visa all got snake eyes in the dice game of vaccine lots.
