Bank Con Job

I sent money internationally for my daughter to provide a gift for her Grandmother. Not only did she have to pay for the Perfect Gift Card Visa, which already is contrary to "perfect gift", but I also discovered my 83 year older mother was being charged a $3.00 service fee for the card. What sick CEO and company thinks that is ethical or moral. I'll bet the retailer will also be charged. This is why so many are screaming our capitalism is broken. It's greed capitalizing on the weak and poor. Shame on Visa and all it's partners and Board.

Hacked

Same thing happened to me as Sal - got the $500 card for retirement in May and forgot about it; found it today, opened the package, checked the balance to see it had been used at some cannabis store in Norman Oklahoma. The support person said not much they can do since it happened over 60 days ago in October. So if you get a low value card then it gets used up with the service fees, if you get a high value card then "somehow" the information on it gets leaked out for someone else to use. Just give cash!

Unopened $500 Gift Card Hacked/Stolen

I received a $500 Visa Gift Card from my employer in December of 2021 and I decided to save it for something special so I put the unopened gift card package in a drawer. In December 2022 I decided to use it but when I tried to activate it, it didn't work. When I called the customer service line, they told me that the card had been used in June of 2022 in the US, and because I hadn't disputed the charge within 60 days there was nothing they could do... and apparently THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME! No one could tell me how it's possible that my gift card could have been used, in another country, when it had been sitting unopened in a drawer that whole time. So buyer beware!

Beware of the $3 fee for the money they don't own

This is an absolutely greedy product. Please make sure to NEVER use this. We were given a $25 gift card that we kept forgetting to use. On the day we used it, I was shocked to know that there was only $10 left on it. Upon talking to customer service, I was informed that there's a $3 monthly service fee if the card was NOT used in 12 months. As someone receiving a gift card, how TF will you know that? There should be a NOTE about it. The $25 amount in the card was paid for by someone dear to us, why would VISA slowly try to steal it, so GREEDY!

Perfect Gift for who? Just the company.

Came across Perfect Gift Visa card I had received a couple years ago, put away and hadn't used. Kept it for a rainy day.

Just saw on back of package notice about monthly maintenance fee after activation. So I opened it to find more fine print, went to website to check balance, and they had stolen $3 a month regularly throughout 2021 until balance on card was $0.

Perfect Gift for them, just like handing over cash for nothing. Oh, and card had a $5 purchase fee, too. Also, card says maintenance fee begins 12 months after purchase. Received card Dec. 2020, fee deductions began Jan. 2021.

My balance hasn't gotten lower

My balance hasn't gotten lower, but I've tried to use this card in multiple locations over the course of the last two years--Walmart, Target, a home goods store, Amazon--and it doesn't work. I've activated it, and online it says my balance is $50. Still won't work. I've reached out to customer service. Nothing. This company should go out of business ASAP.

Bogus activation, scam of service fees, then “need” to send a replacement card?

Was given this as a condolence gift after my brother’s death in the summer of 2021. It sat on my credenza since then. Today I came across it. I did not want the money to be wasted, so I tried to follow the directions and register it…. That did not work, then I called the company number on the card. I was told it was ‘activated’ the day after it was bought….I did not do that. Then they said that they did 3 months of fees, and locked the card because of suspicious activity…. It was by my fruit bowl…. Did it try to talk to an Apple? So they said they had to send a replacement card, and thus needed my contact info and said I could expect a new card in 1-2 weeks. This is holding my gift hostage, and they are making unscrupulous money in nonsense, scam fees… and getting my contact info to now sell to all sorts I am sure! I so wish that people had transferred me cash, rather than a card like this. That company has had my $500 for16 months for free. Now they put up barriers to use/access. I can’t believe such scumbag companies exist and their cards are so readily available in so many stores. I will tell everyone I know not to use them, that they scam money from the public/consumers. Shame on them!

40% of value gone to hidden fees

I was given a card as a gift and went to check the balance before making my first purchase with the cad, and nearly 40% of the card's value had been absorbed into monthly fees.

I read a CBC article where the company states they follow the rules and 'inform' customers of their fee practice. This information is most certainly not highly visible and not displayed on the card. As for following rules...rules do not always result in operating in good faith or with integrity. In the case of service fees, the company has a choice. They choose a legal but seemingly fraudulent business practice from the customer's perspective.
I do not think I have actually encountered a more deserving 1-star review.
Be better. Do better.

What a scam!

What a scam!! I received a $25.00 Visa Perfect Gift Card as a gift. Visa Perfect Gift.ca is the website. When I went to use it the balance was $0. NO way of getting through to Perect Gift.
After 1 year they charge you a service fee that depletes your card to 0! There is an expiry date which is a joke because you can’t keep it and use until the expiry date, that is false. Do not buy one of these!

This is a scam.

This is a scam.

I got two of these as a gift and forgot to use them. When I checked the balance here is what I found: Every month there is a $3 service charge. I don't know of any gift card system that charges $3 / month. I lost $150 of the value because of this.

I called customer service about it, but the agents are well trained to tell you that this is your problem.

Scam

I would rate them as 0 if I could. Thought I would use the card for a special occasion but did not realize there was a service charge each time it is used and a monthly service charge of $3.00. Legalized theft

The WORST COMPANY! DO NOT BUY this Giftcard

This is by far the WORST COMPANY I have ever bought gift card from. This is nothing short of a SCAM. Please do not buy. Even if you receive this as a gift either return or immediately spend on an item you don't want to return. Just get rid of the whole thing at once.
