When I decided to join Travel Counsellors, I felt a bit apprehensive and thought it over, again and again. But talking to Julia on the video call, I found myself getting really excited about the opportunity. Julia was really informative and easy to talk to. By the end of the call, I knew this was what I really wanted to do. Now with only 2 days to my launch day, it is getting so real and achievable. Massive thank you goes to Kerry and Kristina, our tutors. Nothing is ever too much for them and they help with any queries, with smiles on their faces. If you have any second thoughts about TC, don’t. Everyone is so friendly and most of all, supportive of each other.

What an amazing company & training academy they provide. From the moment in enquired Sue was just brilliant, she was at the end of the phone for any of my questions or concerns I had before signing up & believe me I have 100’s. But nothing was too much trouble & she had the answers to all what I needed to know.
Once I started my induction training academy I realised what a great decision I made becoming a travel counsellor. The trainers Kerry & Kristina were just amazing, super friendly & no question was a stupid question … they made me feel at ease & were so informative that by the end of the induction training I felt confident & couldn’t wait to continue my journey with this fantastic company. Dawn has been a fantastic trainer, she has a great sense of humour, is firm but fair and we’ve learnt so much in such a small space of time. She has the patience of a saint. I think it’s been a good mix of video calls and online training.

What slick yet friendly experience joining Travel Counsellors has been.
Everyone has been incredibly helpful and welcoming, from the local TCs I spoke to before I joined, to Julia Speed, who couldn't do enough as I was going through the decision to join TC. The head office Discovery Day was great and made me feel a part of things straightaway.
Induction is intense and very comprehensive, supported by the great Training team, led by Kristina Seed for our cohort.
Being allocated an experienced mentor (Emma) is so incredibly helpful and reassuring in your initial few months.
Rarely have I felt so supported and surrounded by so many (including other business owners) who go out of their way to help you succeed.
It was a massive leap of faith changing from a successful career to running my own business in a sector I barely know, but I have absolutely no regrets and only excitement for the future.

Lisa Hillyard is the reason our Australian adventure was so brilliant and worry free for us two aging holiday makers. The organisation of hotels, transfers and superb excursions was down to her as our travel counsellor and no detail was too much. Even when we had a mishap she was there fo us in support which meant a great deal. Her daughter Amy also helped too. Melbourne, Uluru, Alice Springs, Port Douglas and Sydney were our destinations and we had such a memorable time, unforgettable. We have been home over a fortnight now but both still on a high. Thank you so much, we could never have achieved this standard on our own and we are so grateful. We highly recommend Lisa to everyone who needs help in such a holiday.

The people and training given

I felt that communication prior to making the decision was clear and balanced. The training in a small group environment was handled well, training via Teams and online modules so you can go at your own pace with clear expectations. Always someone available to help.

I was deciding whether to be a Travel Counsellor for a while, so I decided to go to a discovery day which was really helpful making my choice. I met with Julia to go over the business plan and answer any questions I had and she was great, really showed me the level of support you get at Travel Counsellors which definitely made the idea of being self-employed a lot less daunting. I have just finished my induction and Kristina and Kerry were again really knowledgeable and just made the learning both informative and fun. I've really enjoyed my journey so far and looking forward to moving upwards.

What an amazing experience so far joining Travel Counsellors. From the very first chat with Julia Speed, who was thorough, patient and so friendly. Then a visit to Venus Head Office, where I instantly felt part of a caring family, and met lots of fabulous likeminded people, to the 2 week Induction with Dawn, our amazing patient trainer. My mentor Sam who is a god send, and so many others who all just want to help you succeed. Its so refreshing to finally feel appreciated and cared for within a company. I had thought about starting my own travel business for a while and when Julia Speed got in touch it was the perfect timing! She was amazing at advising and providing me with all the information needed and made me feel so at ease about it all.

The 2 weeks training itself was jam packed but so vital at the same time. Our trainer Dawn was so helpful and again put us all at ease from day 1. We all had a million questions but she took time to answer everything! I have been so impressed with the onboarding process and the fact that we are assigned a mentor has been a blessing! My mentor Alison has been so great at answering even more of my questions and guiding me as I start this new venture.

I spent a long time working out if I wanted to bring my existing travel agency over to Travel Counsellors and throughout the whole process, Julia Speed could not have been better. Answering all my little questions with ease and the bigger questions too! Julia made me feel really comfortable, as did the trainers in particular Dawn.

It is an intense couple of weeks of training I will be honest (especially when you have existing clients), but the support has been amazing and I feel like I have definitely made the right decision. My only wish is that I didn't do it a month or so earlier before January Peaks but as the TC team never rushed me, I did it when I felt best and hindsight is a wonderful thing! Looking forward to scaling my business with TC!

From the first call I made to Travel Counsellors until I started the induction training, I had only spoken to Sue Law. She was always there, very knowledgeable, helpful and just a pleasure to deal with. I didn’t feel like she was pushing or rushing me, just listening and giving advice.

The whole process of becoming a Travel Counsellor has been excellent, enjoyable and the support given all the way is amazing. Coming from a non-travel background it was rather daunting but the amount of training given and then the ongoing support network means that you are provided with everything you need to build your business. It's hard work, but worth it, my life has changed for the better now (although the first few months are intense!)

From my first initial contact right through to the Academy training I have been so impressed with the support. My first contact was Sue Law who I spoke to a few times before my final decision to join. Sue was amazing! Sue gave me all the information & guidance I needed to make that decision without any pressure. Answered any questions promptly & the visit to Venus was really helpful. The Academy training team were so supportive as there is a lot to go through in 2 weeks but they were there every step of the way. Travel Counsellors is a great community with amazing support & I am looking forward to my new business thriving.

For anyone that is looking to start a travel business, I can highly recommend travel counsellors. From the moment we enquired, the support, guidance, information and training has been 5 star.
