Poor quality …

Unfortunately the essential range products we have tried with our dogs have been sloppy and full of large bone shards. Poor quality, definitely better quality and cost wise, equally & lower priced alternatives available. Won't purchase again!

My 3 dogs love paleo

My 3 dogs love paleo, and have done for the last 2 years. I love how meaty the food is. Not a huge fan of the new packaging but its what's inside that counts. Healthy happy dogs means happy dod mum 🥰

I’ve used these guys for years but..

I’ve used these guys for years and never had an issue, recently theyve changed their packaging for the worse, I now need to use tuppawear to store them in the fridge and the dishes are so shallow it’s almost impossible not to spill blood everywhere. The old packaging was much better. I used to be able to get 15 in one freezer draw, now there’s room for only 10. And they no longer offer the hampers with free delivery, despite the price of the product increasing the product itself hasn’t changed. They also used to be super helpful with advice, but seem to be generic corporate responses these days - Time to look elsewhere I think

Excellent quality!

My dogs have been eating Paleo ridge for nearly 5 years now and I wouldn’t buy from anywhere else. The quality is amazing and the customer service is exceptional. My emails are always responded to swiftly, I had trouble once with a delivery and they immediately sent out a replacement the next day.
My dogs thrive on the food and have never had an upset tummy!
Very happy customer thank you!

My Frenchie loves Paleo for 8 years now

One of the best companies with excellent customer service, care about the environment with the disposable recyclable packaging, excellent delivery even when DPD screws up and of course best raw food That my Frenchie loves. Highly recommend

Using Paleo for more than 10 years

Using Paleo for more than 10 years. And it is SUPER. Yes, it smells sometimes because there can be tripe in it so..? Never had any issue and my 2 dogs love the meat.
The only one problem I have is that they stopped delivery to Ireland 😭 my freezer is full now but that's it, no more so my dogs will be very sad..Paleo please come back!!!

Great product

I've been using Paleo Ridge for many years and have never experienced any issues with food or delivery, so very surprised about some of the negative feed back! My 3 dogs all various breeds love it, never had any large pieces of bone in it either! Very, very happy with Paleo Ridge.

It nearly killed my Dog.

My dog had Paleo Ridge ONCE and she is falling really ill.

Vomiting, diarrhea and slowly getting letargic, spending lots of bucks at the Vet and she's not been eating for few days now.

How am I 100% sure?
She literally had nothing else the same day or the days after.
I made sure nothing else was eaten either indoor or oudoor.
No, "it's not a coincidence" and she had nothing else, like nothing at all.
Vet confirmed that it's definitely the one, as she had many reports about the same or similar companies.
They make food that are basically discarded animal parts that are also badly transported.
On the label ITSELF it says "wash your hands after touching the raw foos", like really? Could contain a high bacteria count or salmonella, And its safe to consume though?
To which logic?

If my dog does not get better they will get sued and the dog food (which part I kept frozen) will be sent to testing.

Update: Dog survived but now has chronical digesting issues. Phenomenal.

Salmonella

My puppy was weaned onto paleo ridge and was on it until 8 months old. She kept suffering with gut issues, I did an elimination diet etc assuming it was an intolerance but no change. She then fell extremely ill, with hemmorhagic diarrhea. It was awful she was screaming in pain and so unwell for 2 weeks. She was hospitalized and fecal tests revealed she had salmonella.

I was convinced she had IBD whilst on this food, but since switching following the salmonella poisoning she’s had no issues with her digestion. Although I can’t prove that it was the food that gave her salmonella, I know it was. I feel that this meat is unsafe and almost killed my puppy. Please stay away from this brand.

Beware the bone

We recently decided to buy some Paleo ridge Turkey Essential food as a back up.
We were very upset to find considerably larger sharp peices of bone in the food. Luckily our Whippet didn't eat these and spat them out.
The next meal I forked it over and found shards of bone that I think could of caused digestion problems.I have decided to stick with my usual brand.
I must add that my whippey did enjoy the product up to then but too risky

Unreliable delivery service

I switched to paleo ridge food a few months ago for my fussy whippet with IBD who has always struggled with her stomach. The food has been amazing so far and she loves it and no upset stomach. I had 2 great delivery experiences but this time I ordered food on a Saturday expecting it on Tuesday. By Wednesday I got in touch with the company as it hadn’t arrived. They informed me it had gone missing with DPD and issued another delivery for the following day so I thought fine it happens. This happened 3 times that week and each time I was the one chasing it. Only had minimal replies back and after the 3rd delivery ‘went missing with DPD’ they said they couldn’t do anything else by which point I’d run out of food for my dog as this took 6 days. Had to drive half an hour to a stockist to tide my girl over and now seriously considering switching brands as they didn’t seem to care much and this unreliable service is a joke. Just a shame as the food suits my dog!

The food is fine but delivery abysmal

The food is fine for my dog and haven’t had the same poor experience as other reviewers in that regard, but they are let down by abysmal delivery service of DPD.
I’ve complained twice now about them leaving the box on my drive in full view of the road. The last time it was a sunny day (not great for frozen food) and I’d asked them to leave in my cool porch, which I left unlocked, as I knew I might be out for up to an hour. They sent a message saying it had been left in the porch, accompanied by a photo showing it on the drive!
Today, I’ve tried to return a box of the woolcool packaging which they collect and reuse. DPD did not turn up and, when I checked their website, it said that they had visited but been told there was nothing to collect. I’m the only person in, the house was quiet, no one rang the bell, so I can only guess that they went to the wrong house.
I’m trying out Bella & Duke and considering switching brand completely.

AVOID

After using Paleo Ridge for some time, our dog became sick several times. This prompted us to switch to a different brand. We briefly considered returning to Paleo Ridge (thinking maybe it wasn't the food) but upon reading numerous reviews citing similar issues of dogs falling ill, we've decided to steer clear for good. The lack of response from the company to these concerns speaks volumes. Definitely one to avoid.

I bought a lamb dinner recently from the local Sainsburys. The dog food contains pieces of bones and some with sharp splinters. avoid avoid avoid..
I will write to Sainsburys Headoffice Buying department to remove this prodcuct from their shelves. This food is dangerous for your small dog.

Terrible delivery

I’m very pleased with the product BUT their delivery arrangements are terrible. DPD almost always fail to deliver on the day stated meaning you get half defrosted raw meat which you have no alternative but to re-freeze. This is a serious and real health risk and totally unacceptable.

Paleo Plus range is excellent

I’m really surprised at the negative reviews! I have used many raw food suppliers and for me and my dog Paleo Ridge plus has been fantastic! Food always arrives completely frozen, care is taken throughout the packing process to ensure food remains frozen. My dogs health has improved vastly as well as his skin and allergies. I’ve found the customer service when used to be excellent and delivery is always punctual. By far the best raw food I’ve purchased. My dog used the Paleo Plus range and the food is consistently good. Yes it’s pricey, but seeing the benefits in my dog I don’t mind paying it.

Pointless Subscription Service

The quality of the raw food is good, deliveries reliable, and I can earn credits for returning reusable wool cool sacks, but there needs to be more incentive for discounts. I recently signed up to a subscription but found out you don't get any discount after the first two deliveries. What's the point of the subscription if there's no discount incentive throughout? You get free delivery, but you can get this if you purchase a hamper anyway. I've since cancelled my subscription as it's pointless. Come on Paleo Ridge, get me from good to excellent.

Poor quality, sick pup

Switched to this provider from a local trusted brand as I thought this was the best on the market. Boy was I wrong, made the mistake of ordering a month's worth of food and threw out a third of it after defrosting as the meat was slimy, off and smelt horrendous. I ordered across all ranges from the essentials to the classic to paleo plus and most boxes were of poor quality.

I have a strong feeling the meat is on its last legs, then frozen/sold and by the time it's defrosted it's well past its best-buy date. My poor pup isn't a fussy eater and loves his raw meals but got sick on two occasions eating this food. I've now moved to another brand and warn anyone who loves their pups to steer clear.

Really disappointed as it was an expensive mistake and took my pup a few weeks to get back to himself after moving to another brand.
