My school teacher wife lost 10 years of her professional life when her USB drive went bad (in spite of my constantly telling her to back up her files). After several failed attempts on my own, I decided to try Outsource Data Recovery. The initial process went well and they were able to salvage the data. However, we had issues with the recovered .zip file for several days (we selected the download file option). Ultimately they were able to reissue a new .zip file and we got everything back. Had we not had this delay this review would have been 5 stars. In the end, it was a very expensive process but ultimately worth it. Although considering the delay with the download, I thought they should have credited a portion or all of the expediting fee.

While my drive failure wasn't the board, my most critical data was recovered for an acceptable cost from a totally dead hard drive. Service is fast and there is constant communication on process status. Very straightforward and easy process. Hope I never need this service again, but would certainly go to Outsource first if I did!

Well it was easy to order but I felt led on by the 99$ advertisement and then even though it was a simple fix it was another 200$ to get it done. By now the usb is across the country and I don’t really have a choice. They did quickly assess and tell me they could get the data off. Then even after spending three times more than I expected, there was now a very unclear 2-3 week turn around. Or you could spend ANOTHER 300 for faster response. I could see 99$ plus 200 for for expedited but not 500 for expedited. Now. All that said. They did a good job and got all my data and that was good. I just felt misled. Perhaps all the services do this.
