Didn't even want to click 1 star, I've bought twice because maybe the first one was defective. But a complete scam and unable to get in touch with anyone at customer service

I don't think the free tier is real.

Free tier is pretty much a scam. You will send all of your personal details and have a card check, then you'll hear nothing. If you follow up, they will likely ignore you. If you pester them again, you might get a short email saying "Unfortunately, we are unable to resolve this or process the transaction. This is all the information we can provide." (copy+pasted exactly). I've never been rejected for any account and my cards are fine. Good luck trying to get the personal data you provided deleted. That's a process they've designed to be even more frustrating than the sign-up and response. Knowing their CEO, I can only imagine my data has been sold already to fund a certain thing.

(TL;DR) the old adage is true: if something is free, you're the product. Don't try to sign up for the 'free' tier unless you're happy to send your card details and personal data to Oracle with no way to have them deleted.

my orderly account deleted without any prior warning!

I was on a vacation for 3 weeks and didn't use the account during that time. After these 3 weeks I received an e-mail in which they told me that my oracle account has been irreversible DELETED. They addressed me just as "oracle customer, ...", no "dear ...", that shows how much they value their customers: they treat them as if they were scum. All my files and my running server were deleted! Without any prior warning notice from them! Fair would have been, if they wrote an e-mail 2 weeks before deletion.

First order was ok but I tried again . Now I have paid for a order that was not shipped or lost and a second one that was not ordered. No response so I canceled my card to stop any more charges. .jim phillips

Don't use this service

Don't use this service. We wanted to use it as a web server. We sent the setup and wasted time and money. They simply blocked the account without even stating the reason. They simply ignored me completely.

Oracle is a problem

Oracle is truly a terrible, disgusting corporation with no ethics or morals. CEO Larry Ellison supports the destruction of US democracy and the genocide in Gaza. “People” like this should not be treated with any grace. When you are routinely taking advantage of and killing people less well off than you, you are the problem.

Account Terminated Without Notice – Zero Transparency

I had a terrible experience with Oracle. My account was terminated without any notice, email, or explanation. I only found out when I could no longer access it, and even then, the account is still visible in their database. I can’t reset my password (no reset emails arrive), but the Oracle Cloud access details mail still work so my account isn't deleted.

When I contacted support, they told me the account was terminated but refused to explain why. They also told me I am not allowed to create a new account. Essentially, their response was: “we don't care and there is nothing you can do.”

This raises serious concerns about data privacy, transparency, and legality. Oracle still has all my personal data, but I have no way to access, manage, or delete it. That feels both unfair and possibly unlawful under data protection standards.

I strongly warn others to think twice before trusting Oracle with your information. If this happened to me, it can happen to anyone.

Oracle Cloud’s Predatory Billing: Charged $900 for a Firewall with NO Price Indication

Sea Shepherd Brazil, a nonprofit fighting to protect marine life, was scammed by Oracle Cloud into a $900 charge for a "network firewall".

The Deception:

- No price indication whatsoever when creating the firewall.
- No warning that enabling it would incur costs.
- No confirmation prompt before charging us.
- We have video proof of this (recorded during testing after discovering the fees).

This is not a mistake — it’s a trap. Oracle deliberately hides costs behind "free" services, then silently drains funds from unsuspecting users. For an NGO operating on donations, $900 is stolen from our conservation campaigns.

The Runaround:

- Customer support is useless — no refund, just constant forwarding to different people.
- No transparency in billing; charges appeared weeks later with no prior notice.
- No way to dispute without jumping through hoops.

A Warning to Others:

Oracle's "free" services are bait-and-switch schemes, and their support is nonexistent when you’re hit with surprise fees.

I´m writing this specifically about…

I´m writing this specifically about Oracle Linux.
Not only is it a commercial and server product, but also suited to home use. As a home desktop it is highly stable, reliable and easy enough to use for the average person with just a small amount of linux experience. It is a very pleasant surprise, not being prone to crash or fail in updates. This is after one whole year of using it.

Oracle Cloud’s Free for Life Plan is a Scam

I signed up for Oracle Cloud’s so-called “Free for Life” plan, lured by their promise that certain services would remain free forever. After a few months — without any clear warning or explanation — I suddenly found hundreds of dollars charged to my credit card.
The worst part? Customer support is virtually nonexistent: response times are painfully slow, replies are generic and unhelpful, and there’s zero real effort to fix the problem or refund the unauthorized charges.
What’s marketed as a free plan is actually a trap: even minimal usage or unclear default settings will trigger charges. The experience has been a disaster, and I feel completely misled.
I strongly advise against using Oracle Cloud, especially if you’re tempted by their “free for life” claim. It’s deceptive advertising and terrible service.
