Bad outside NL

Bad, bad, bad, as most Dutch insurances and it’s health system in generally. They stick on protocols, which are not customer’s focused but money focused.
ONVZ pays in NL, all good. But outside NL, it is a disaster even if you pay for “wereld fit”, like me.
But more specifically, I have to move in and out NL the last years and from time to time need to visit some doctors due to sudden health issues. They pay the doctors but not the laboratories and the medicines. One time the receipt is not clear. I re-send it and they reject it again because this time the name is not on the receipt etc…..I explain them that the pharmacies in GR are not obliged to issue receipts with names and addresses on it. And that they give the medicines based on the prescription of the doctor including name and address.
I spend so much time for this ridiculous bureaucracy that I quit and carry the cost.
I sent recently a complain to the company explaining how the system works, we shall see.
So, to conclude, if you live in NL, they pay like all the rest of the insurances but when you are in abroad, do not have any expectations and be prepared to pay by yourself.

Unreliable customer service

They are completely unreliable. It's insane that how crazy company they are! I asked questions about my reimbursements and their customer service agent said that I can send the invoices that they will be paid but after I claimed the invoices of the treatments, they didn't pay. I filed a complaint. They simply didn't take it seriously, ignored their agent's mistake and left me thousands of euros bills.

Extremely disappointed and frustrated…

Extremely disappointed and frustrated with onvz. I was led to believe the Niped check was free and TIGRA would be around €50. A year later, I was unfairly charged €180 for TIGRA because Niped supposedly used the allowance. This is misleading, and support was unhelpful. I'm discouraging all colleagues from this insurer and telling everyone I know to switch. Just avoid.

WARNING: AVOID THIS HEALTHCARE PROVIDER AT ALL COSTS!
This company is a disgrace to the healthcare industry and operates like scammers preying on vulnerable patients. They promised me that my surgery would be fully covered without any additional charges. I trusted them, but they blatantly lied and cheated me. Their deceit has caused me immense stress and financial burden.

Employees and owners of this blood-sucking organization deserve the harshest consequences for their actions. Their greed and unethical practices are utterly appalling. Patients, beware—this provider will exploit your trust and leave you stranded when you need them the most.

DO NOT USE ONVZ

This is the worst health insurance in the Nederlands.
Please save yourself a headache and pick a different company. The inefficiency of this company is so bad that I will give it zero stars if I could.
All kind of obstacles to get you medicine on top of having to pay for it out of pocket. DO NOT USE ONVZ!

Would not trust it, strange and suspicious experience

I did not have a great experience when I applied for this insurance. They demanded I had to pay extra for the months that I did not have insurance for since I came here "according do the dutch law" which is not true because I was not working and neither am I Dutch. In the end they asked I pay them around 700 euros in extra costs for those months plus the normal insurance which was set to be monthly.

I thankfully managed to cancel it in time but even that was a difficult process because I had to call them to REMIND them I emailed them about cancelling which apparently they did not take into account even though I got an email back(it was not cancelled) I now registered with another insurance company and this did not occur again, no extra suspicious costs. Horrible and weird experience.

For this company

For this company, you are just a number. They are corrupt in their decision-making and assessment. I consulted 4 doctors to make sure I really needed surgery. The answer was inevitably Yes. Although it appears as an intervention covered by basic insurance, the ONVZ denied reimbursement. How come their Zorg manager assessment beats 4 others' interpretation? this company does not take care of me...

Not possible to use the service for non-Dutch speakers: everything is in Dutch, in the app you cannot even select a text to translate it.

Awful customer service

Awful customer service. Disaster!!! I try to cancel my policy leaving the country. And I provided onvz with a proof of de-registration from the city council with a stamp. But onvz is saying that "it is not enough". Not even explaining what is "enough", while the city council explained me that there is nothing else they can provide me with.
It is not even a claim I submit to this useleess insurance company, but a request for policy cancellation expressing my willigness to terminate the policy on my departure. And that is still not enough. And that is only 1 story about my experience with ONVZ. Never EVER!!!! Your customer service is not enough good - that is the truth! Shame on you!

I am waiting for my health insurance…

I am waiting for my health insurance since 16th of January. It is now 20th of March.

I am scared to go to work because if I get corona virus and get into a hospital, there is no one to pay for me or follow up and claim on my insurance.

It is true that my case was a bit tricky to approve but they are now taking more than 2 weeks to simply create the policy.

I have called them 4 times the last two weeks and the last time they responded to my e-mail was 5th of Februrary.

On the call they say each time the same "your policy is approved, but needs to be created", and it has a massive impact on my life - general practitioners refuse to see me because I have no insurance. And I cannot go to the emergency room for every single thing.
