Exorbitant prices
There were two small jobs to be done, a tap to be replaced and a seal at the back of a toilet. The plumber arrived early and the jobs were done quickly, and he left everything in good order.
We had been told that there was a £49.00 call out charge, but it was a total shock that the full price was £490.00. The plumber explained that it was an emergency service, which was why it was so expensive. In fact the work was arranged a few days in advance.
There was no transparency about their pricing structure, or any indication that it would be so exorbitant.
We will not be using them again.

Don’t use this company
I had to find a plumber for my brother-in-law who is 85 & had 2 small leaks - one in his kitchen & one in his upstairs toilet system. I got the number from Google, rang them during the day on an ordinary Monday morning & was lead to believe they were a local company. The plumber arrived 2 hours later than we were told to expect him, he put a new stop tap in the kitchen & a new washer on the toilet system - it took him 20 minutes. The company charged £496.64 and refused to send an invoice despite me ringing them several times to ask for it.

I have no hot wter or central heating
I have no hot wter or central heating. I was told, at the start, the call out fee would be £49.00 and I thought fair enough. The plumbing engineer arrived and spent approximately 2 hours and did not fix the problem. I then had to phone the company and they requested the sum of £340.00. I was staggered. I am well over 80 years old and disabled. This worked out at £150.00 per hour. I paid and was assure I would get an invoice, but no nothing. These people should not be allowed to take money over the phone via a bank transfer. They are crookes.

Came out. Was here 1 hour. Replaced a seal on the boiler that split. Charged £525!!!!
Then left me with heating - but NO HOT WATER! I called up and asked them to come and rectify it and they were going to CHARGE me MORE MONEY! Half of £1,000 and STILL job not done!

It was not until the plumber had completed the work that Best Technicians informed me of the price. Less than an hour’s work was done. £369!!
I protested, and the price came down to £320!
The plumber did not leave my house until the cash had cleared!!
This company are completeLy unscrupulous. The price is not stated upfront, even though i asked.
These prices are not reflective of standard rates at all.

Quoted £160 for hob install, charged £447.
Quoted £160 for gas hob installation. Once job was completed the technician mentions that it doesn't include his day rate, VAT or the materials (apparently £15 for some pipe glue/tape or whatever). Charged £447 for the job. Also hasn't provided a certificate to say it's been done by a certified technician.

AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!- Unfair Charges &…
AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!- Unfair Charges & NO RESPONSE
I had an extremely disappointing experience with Best Technicians. They charged me £430 for a simple regulation of my boiler, with no actual repair done. At no point was I informed that the service would cost this much, and when I reached out for detailed breakdown of the charges, I was completely ignored.
I gave them 2 weeks to respond, but they clearly have no interest in customer service of fairness. If you're considering using this company, be very cautious about hidden fees.
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM AT ALL!!!!!

Best technicians unethical practice and extortion
I had called for a boiler repair from a company BEST TECHNICIANS and even after repeated request for estimated cost I was not being given any idea of estimate but was told each time it will be £49+ cost of parts + labour charges but when technician arrived he told it's £90 for first hour and £60 for next hours . after completion of work when I asked the technician total repair cost including call out charges + parts + labour cost he said company people will give a call about total .when I received a call I was shocked to know that they made the total £690 (49+ 71spare parts cost + rest labour charges) which I had to pay are it felt like extortion and clear cheating because firstly after repeatedly asking they didn't tell any changes and charging more than double money their explanation is ours is emergency service we charge like that .really shocked.

Scaming the elderly for £££
Scamming elderly - Charged £249 to press a button.
They did not communicate the £200 clearly or in advance, only the £49 call out charge.
The engineer turned the boiler off and on (we had already tried this), and have been charged £200 for labour - misleading, unclear and overall a scam.
I understand the £49 call out charge, but £200 labour to press a button makes no sense whatsoever.

Rip off
This is a review about the company and not the technician.
I called them for an urgent job as my boiler was not working. The only fee they could provide was the call out fee. When I specifically asked about a ballpark figure for the job, they said they couldn’t know.
The technician came in, but didn’t finish the job (a part of the boiler needed replaced) so he called them and told them that he only made a diagnosis. I could hear that as he put the phone on speaker.
2 minutes later they called me and said that the price would be £340. It took them only 2 minutes to come up with a quote that they couldn’t provide when I initially called them. And remember, it was just a diagnosis and not fix of the problem! Also the technician did not provide any details, which means that they knew the price from the very beginning and they hid it!
After arguing with them on the phone, they decided to take the price down to £240 which is still insane. Did I mention that they didn’t even provide a receipt or invoice?
I have e-mailed them requesting a refund asap. This is absolutely unacceptable.
UPDATE 01/03/25: So, they have asked for further info in order to be able to take my post down if I don't provide it. I have nothing to hide anyway.
Also, your standardised response does NOT apply here. You never quoted me upfront with any prices. Neither you or the technician who didn't know what I was to pay. The only fee you told me about was the £49 call out fee. The earlier you proceed to the refund the better.

Avoid !
Avoid !
Awful unprofessional and uncaring attitude.
Plumber called to fix a leaking pipe.
Changed the central heating settings on my back boiler.
Plumber lied and said he hadn't but was observed to do so.
My central heating system no longer works.
Numerous phone calls made to no avail.
Happy to leave a distressed pensioner with no heating or hot water in minus temperatures.
I now have to pay someone else to try and fix it.
Disgusting.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!
Called these guys as had no heating or hot water two days before Christmas was quoted the £49 call out fee which was fine , the technician did turn up quite quickly , he just looked at the boiler turnt a few buttons , looked at the radiators got the heating and hot water back on (which was a relief ) spent about an hour at my property for which I was then charged £344 which is extortionate seeing as he never actually replaced anything just fiddled about with it, never got an invoice with a break down of what I paid for even when I emailed them about one , DEFINITELY AVOID AT ALL COSTS TOTAL SCAM

£210 for no heating or hot water
Electrician came to change thermostat.
After he left and took £210 from me, nothing worked. No hot water and heating three days now.
Calling the line for refund and they keep saying someone will call me. NOTHING AT ALL!
Feels like a fraud!

Hired this company to repair a toilet…
Hired this company to repair a toilet for me. I have been billed a shocking £200 an hour for 3 hrs work when only 2 was done. When asked for a price was told there was not an hourly rate and i couldn't get a price till job was complete. stupid of me i know. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!
Never again. Avoid.
Cost to replace a tap which we had purchased.
Took 45 minutes.
£384.
When arranged the call out fee of £49 was mentioned but when I asked about the likely cost they said the plumber would advise. The plumber referred me to the office when I asked him. He (actually they) did a great job, quick, efficient and polite. Then I received a phone call with the invoiced fee. That's some hourly rate.
The response is laughable. No price was quoted upfront. I was advised that Head Office deal with that - had I known the cost of fitting a tap (which I had purchased) was going to be nearly £400 the job would not have proceeded. I have asked for an invoice 3 times and so far nothing. It all reinforces my view that this company is not trustworthy. No amount of discount would persuade me to use them again.
