Fell for the marketing

Fell for the marketing. Not a dealer lvl tool like they say it is.
Very unintuitive UI, bunch of unlabeled menus and parameters, takes a lot of time to browse around, very easy to trigger "login lockouts", which can be a pain in the rear to unlock. By the time you get the dongle and PRO plan, you have almost paid for the proper VCDS tool. GET A VCDS TOOL!!!! If you want to perform anything besides just monitoring data, you need a VCDS tool.

My device took seven weeks to arrive

My device took seven weeks to arrive. All it does is give a list of faults, about 30 on a brand new car! And it won’t even clear them all.
I bought it to try to get rid of Skoda’s infuriating stop/start, dangerous lane assist and unnecessary speed alarm. The device won’t do this, and only now I discover that the device won’t work with post 2023 models. Don’t waste your time or money, a complete scam.

It's such a shame to hear of your poor experience with OBDeleven so far. Delivery times typically range up to 30 days when shipping to non-EU locations, though external factors may cause unexcpected delays, for which we apologize, but are ultimately glad that you received your device.
We do our best to communicate which features our device can and cannot tinker with; when it comes to specific One-Click App solutions, such as the Start/Stop system deactivation - for most VAG cars, this feature can only be deactivated for models made prior to 2019, as future models were manufactured in a way that prevents us from working around it. As for compatibility with 2024+ VAG models, we do support them, however the manufacturers rolled out a new layer of security protocols that hinder the primary method of communication between our device and the cars' control units, which limits what our device can do. Rest assured, we're actively collaborating with VAG manufacturers towards a solution. Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated.

Very poor support experience

Very poor support experience! I had to wait 48 hours for a very generic answer after I had submitted a very specific support request with screenshots, vehicle history log, and detailed description to their customer support team via the Help Chat. This is the very generic response I received back, no additional suggestions on how to establish what the actual issue was!

1. Your vehicle's control unit software version may not allow you to do this;
2. You may be trying to change a configuration that does not match the logic of the control unit;
3. You may need to do extra steps before proceeding, for example: changing the diagnostic service mode, applying a different security access code or other steps that are needed in order to apply such changes.

Extremely disappointing.

A Great Tool to Mod my VW

I'm new to OBDeleven, but so far, so good. The dongle interfaces easily with the app on my smart phone. Scanning the controllers in my '23 VW Jetta Sport is convenient, and noting and resetting error codes is quick. The One-Click Apps are really neat, although not all the apps work with every model VAG vehicle. Instructions on some of the apps are pretty limited, but when I ran into trouble with one, OBDeleven customer service worked with me to get the problem straightened out. Be aware that the time difference between North America and Lithuania may mean collaborating by email rather than by chat.

I do not recommend this product



I do not recommend this product. I bought it a few weeks ago and tested it on a Volkswagen Golf MK7. My goal was to disable the start-stop system. I paid for the credits (or “points”) they use, but even after applying the changes, the start-stop system was still working exactly the same.

There was no way to contact them for help—no support, no email, and their website is confusing and unhelpful.

Now I’ve also tested it on a Volkswagen ID.7 (2025 model). With the VAG app, I had to add the VIN manually, even though the car was produced at the beginning of this year. After adding the VIN, the app still didn’t work and told me to connect to a non-VAG group app. But when I tried that, it redirected me back, saying I needed to connect with the VAG group app. Completely ridiculous.

Overall, I do not recommend this at all, and I definitely won’t spend another dollar on it. VCDSis a much better option—it has plenty of tutorials on YouTube and working codes. This item was just a waste of time in my opinion.

EDIT1: Yes, yes… here you give an answer just to make it look like you care about the customer, while in reality you don’t. I am not the only one pointing out here that you provide no support and don’t care about customer experience. This is a typical business approach from that region… just take the money and let the customer go to hell. The VW Golf MK7 I mentioned was a 2014 1.4 TSI....nothing new, nothing complicated. I truly regret spending my money on your product.

While OBDeleven can help deactivate the Start/Stop system of a great many vehicles, it does have its limits, functioning only on cars made prior to 2019, as manufacturers rolled out further changes making our workaround impossible for newer models.
When it comes to latest models - many 2024+ VAG cars are also additionally protected by security protocols (SFD2), which impedes the main method of technical communication between our device and the car's control units, hence the troublesome connection with your VW ID.7. Rest assured, we're collaborating with VAG manufacturers to hop over this hurdle as soon as possible, but the process is a complicated one, and we cannot yet predict when such a breakthrough will be completed.
We understand the importance of clear instructions and reliable assistance, and we're actively working to enhance the OBDeleven user experience. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and insights, we appreciate your patience and understanding as we strive to address the aforementionned concerns.

Everything is paywalled

Really disapointed. You pay well over £100 for a device that you need a subscription for for bascially everything.

Save yourself the money and skip my mistake and grab yourself a second hand VCDS device on ebay. Insubmountably more advanced and nothing is paywalled. A little more complicated, but you jsut ask ChatGPT for the steps and it's easy peasy

Avoid

Shocking experience from start to finish. Currently trying to get a refund or replacement and it’s just going around in circles. Terrible customer service and the device does not work. If I got a replacement and it worked I’d be delighted with it as what they say they can do is great!

I've had a lot of luck with OBDeleven on…

Ive had a lot of luck with OBDeleven on my Audi TTRS 2018 but when i switched to a BMW Z4M40i, while many apps worked for me, one didnt and i had to spend lots of credit to activate and then deactivate it because it did not work (due to my car configuration not OBDeleven). I contacted them and they were nice enough to replace my credits which they didnt really have to so im very happy with botrh their product and customer service
