Never buy Nissan electric cars. Ev fault codes comes on dash and then doesn’t start . My car ended up for repair in warranty more than 7 times in 8 months. Issue was still there. No after sale service. Faulty cars ever . Never buy them . Buy Toyota hybrid instead.

The worst customer experience of my life.
The product is materially defective (and failed a month outside of the warranty period, which of course happens and is not the issue).
It would not start and the dealer network refused to receive our vehicle within the breakdown cover warranty period (approx 6 weeks) provided by the last service, due to lack of capacity - which is either due to excess defective Nissans, or inadequate maintenance capacity - either way - beware of this data point. This pushed the cost of recovery, completely unnecessarily on to us. Nissan and dealers refused to assist (“your problem”).
This also meant that we had no functioning vehicle - again, zero recognition of the practical issue this created for us and 5 months later, our vehicle (a Nissan Ariya) is still defective.
We arranged to start the vehicle and (successfully) gambled on taking the vehicle to a dealer (far away from us, due again to capacity issues - no room at Glyn Hopkin St Albans).
Having incurred the costs and practical cover to get the vehicle to the dealer and recover it, we collected the car.
We subsequently discovered the electrics were defective, and the repair had not been completed, and that the dealer had failed to undertake basic checks before returning the vehicle.
We have spent the last 5 months corresponding with Nissan customer service. The representatives change, as does the stance and story from Nissan. Multiple follow-ups across weeks are required to procure even a single response, and that response is nearly always unhelpful, obtuse and dismissive.
It seems to me that Nissan GB has essentially accepted that their product is deficient, and presumably they are consequently overwhelmed by complaints, and thus their attitude and approach to customer service is accurately reflected by the feedback and scores here; they do not care, and it is all your problem.
I would never contemplate buying another Nissan and consider myself an anti-brand ambassador.
1) The product is uncompetitive
2) The dealer / maintenance network is inadequate
3) Service quality is a fail
4) Customer service is appalling.
Avoid at all costs.

Subject: Formal Complaint – Ongoing Fault With 2022 Nissan Interstar
Dear Nissan UK Customer Services,
I am writing to formally complain about the handling of repairs to my 2022 Nissan Interstar.
Over the past six months, I have paid approximately £9,000 in repair costs, yet the original fault remains unresolved. This situation is completely unacceptable. As a working vehicle, the Interstar is essential to my livelihood, and the extended downtime and repeated repair attempts have caused significant disruption and financial strain.
I entrusted Nissan and its authorised repair network to correctly diagnose and fix the issue. After multiple visits, substantial expense, and half a year without a proper resolution, I am extremely disappointed that the vehicle is still not repaired.
I now require:
* A full explanation of the work carried out to date
* Justification for the £9,000 charged
* Immediate escalation of this case
* A clear plan to permanently resolve the fault
* Consideration of reimbursement or goodwill compensation given the time, cost, and inconvenience
The 22 reg van has now been sold for parts as nissan could not fix it!!!

My 2018 Nissan Juke (ND18BJX) has covered only 34,000 miles, yet it has suffered complete gearbox failure. An authorised Nissan dealer diagnosed the issue and quoted £7,207.92 for replacement.
I contacted Nissan UK requesting goodwill assistance because a major component like a gearbox should reasonably last far beyond 34,000 miles. Instead, Nissan classified the failure as “wear and tear” and refused any support.
What is most disappointing is that the case appeared to focus only on vehicle age and warranty expiry, while completely ignoring the exceptionally low mileage and the fact that such a major failure at 34k miles is far from normal consumer expectations.
After repeated complaints and escalation to Nissan’s Managing Director’s Team, Nissan confirmed their decision was final. The case has now been escalated to The Motor Ombudsman.
I bought Nissan expecting reliability and fair customer support. Sadly, this experience has seriously damaged my confidence in the brand.
Suggestion to Nissan:
Please review how low-mileage major component failures are handled. Customers experiencing catastrophic failures at 34,000 miles should receive fairer consideration instead of generic warranty-based responses.
The Nissan Juke: A Cry For Help on Wheels
I was recently given a Nissan Juke as a courtesy car, which feels a bit like being offered a soggy sandwich when your proper lunch is delayed. Technically it’s food, but you’re not exactly thrilled about it.
Let’s start with the styling. The Juke looks like someone asked an AI to design “a car with anxiety.” It’s grey too — not an exciting metallic silver, just the sort of grey you associate with wet Tuesdays and tax returns. If boredom had a paint code, this would be it.
The infotainment screen appears to have been installed as an afterthought by someone wielding double-sided tape. It’s enormous. Not integrated into the dash so much as perched awkwardly on top of it like a teenager balancing an iPad during a Zoom lesson. Every time I looked at it I expected it to fall off mid-roundabout.
Driving it is less “operating a motor vehicle” and more “negotiating with an overprotective robot nanny.” The car simply does not trust you. At all.
Go 1 mph over the speed limit? BEEP BEEP BEEP.
Drift slightly near a white line to avoid a pothole? The steering wheel yanks itself back like the car believes you’re attempting a high-speed escape from prison. Trying to give cyclists room while overtaking becomes an exciting mini-game called “Will The Car Let Me Survive This?”
And the beeping. Sweet mercy, the beeping.
The Juke beeps at everything:
* Speeding
* Lane drifting
* Existing
* Possibly having independent thoughts
At one point I’m fairly certain it beeped because it disapproved of my music choices.
Then there’s the gear change indicator, confidently suggesting completely ridiculous gear choices. “Shift up now,” it says while the engine is clearly begging for mercy going uphill at 17 mph. Thanks Nissan, but I’ve actually driven a car before.
The reversing camera is apparently visible from space. It occupies half the dashboard and provides a cinematic IMAX-quality view of a Tesco car park. Useful if you’re directing aircraft. Slightly excessive for reversing into Bay 14.
All these “safety” features raise an important philosophical question: if I genuinely need this much electronic intervention to keep the car on the road, should I perhaps surrender my licence and take up knitting instead?
The Nissan Juke doesn’t drive with you. It supervises you. Judgementally.
In conclusion, the Nissan Juke is ideal for anyone who has always dreamed of being nagged by a household appliance while travelling in a startled-looking shoe.
Paul Spencer at Nissan was very helpful and took as though every stage of mobility always there to help with everything and made us a cup of tea

STAY AWAY from Nissan and take your business elsewhere.
They’re wonderful when it comes to selling you a vehicle, service plans, and extras — but once the sale is done and problems start, they’re an absolute waste of time.
I bought a 2018 Juke and after about a week, hidden scratches started becoming visible. I’ve also had ongoing issues with the radio, yet they still want to charge a diagnostic fee just to look at it.
I’ve dealt with both the dealership and customer relations, and neither have been helpful in the slightest. Completely disappointing experience from start to finish.
Honestly, I really wish I’d done more research before making the mistake of buying from this company.

We broke down in Llandudno 5/5th and were taken to WR Davies Nissan in Rhyl, where we were helped by Peter, who went over and above to get us home to Stoke on Trent. Unfortunately, a repair wasn’t viable, but all of the team there made us feel comfortable, eventually after much discussion between Nissan and the RAC, Peter arranged an Uber at no expense to ourselves to get us home. Thank you Peter 👍

Won’t give goodwill on a £200 charge which was partially their fault. You spend all your money on a car and get nothing in return. And 3 weeks of calls and emails to get to a blanket no. Will never be buying again

Extremely poor support and inconsistent communication from Nissan
I would not recommend the Nissan Qashqai based on my experience.
I have an ongoing issue with the lithium battery after a recall and software update, which triggered a Battery Management System error.
Nissan head office initially told me the issue would be covered under warranty and even confirmed a goodwill repair. I followed all instructions through an approved dealership, but since then the communication has been inconsistent and confusing.
My case has been:
* wrongly marked as closed despite my responses
* affected by claims that the approved dealership “could not be found” in their system
* repeatedly changed in position, including asking for additional diagnostics that have already been done
After my detailed follow-up email, I have now received no response at all.
The main issue is not just the fault itself, but the lack of reliable support and disappearing communication from head office once the case becomes difficult.
Very disappointing experience overall.

I purchased a brand-new Nissan three years ago, and it has only done 22,000 miles. Recently, the clutch failed unexpectedly. The dealership quoted me over £2,000 to replace it. When I asked them to inspect the car for a potential manufacturing fault, I was told it would cost around £160 per hour and could take up to 8 hours.
The dealership, Shelbourne Motors, asked if they looked at the car would I removed negative reviews I had posted about their service. So they toke the car to the dealership and This is when they quoted £2000+ for the repair
They also claimed the flywheel needed replacing, despite there being no evidence of any issue—this felt like an attempt to inflate the repair cost unnecessarily. They only toke the car and parked it at the dealership and wouldnt look at it until I agreed to pay £160 a hour for a minimum of 8hours. So they only used RAC to recover it so I would remove the reviews this felt like another unhanded scheme to get what they want and deliver nothing
I later had the car inspected by an independent mechanic, who confirmed that the clutch itself was in good condition. Instead, the clutch plate had bent out of shape due to poor installation. The car had been fully serviced by Nissan just two months prior to this incident.
The most serious issue occurred when my wife was driving with our two children. While stopped at a red light, the clutch plate jammed, forcing the car into gear and pulling it forward into oncoming traffic. She managed to switch off the engine just in time to avoid a collision. This was an extremely dangerous situation and could have resulted in a serious accident.
As a result, my daughter is now afraid to get back into the car.
After raising the issue with Nissan UK, we were offered a £300 voucher to be used only with Nissan. This would not even cover the cost of parts, let alone labour, and does not reflect the seriousness of what happened.
In my opinion, the Nissan Qashqai raises serious safety concerns and should be properly investigated. This experience has been extremely distressing for my family, and our dealings with both Nissan and their approved dealer have been very disappointing.
We are now left in a position where we feel we have to sell the car because our family no longer feels safe in it.
Overall, this has been a deeply frustrating and concerning experience. I would strongly urge others to be cautious.

I have messaged your company on Facebook as per request.
As I stated in the details above that we have been in contact with Nissan Uk for over 3 months and you offered us a £300 voucher that can only be used in Nissan. That Wouldn’t even cover the parts for the repair let alone the Labour. We found this unacceptable.

I am 6 months into my rejection case, the case has gone through 3 case handlers, a supervisor and countless periods of 0 comms. At one point my handler went AWOL and the case wasn't reassigned.
I have a financial ombudsman case underway and am about to now raise a Motor Ombudsman case.
I am told something will happen then it doesn't then they chase, then nothing happens, rinse and repeat.
We were told the replacement vehicle was sorted and then it wasn't, then they needed to inspect the original vehicle (issue from new), now it's a week waiting for them to register the new one. The new vehicle has been sat at the dealer for weeks now without us being able to actually get hold of it. In the mean time we have had 3 loan vehicles and 2 hire cars (paid for by Nissan).

Further to my last review I now have an eta for my gearbox to start getting fixed on the 11/5/26.
Car will have been with them for 8 weeks. All compensation claims rejected by nissan because to prove them i have to break gdp rules and I can't do that. Whilst I now have a hire car that is not what I'm paying £400 a month for !!
Never buy Nissan, worst customer experience I've ever had to deal with in my 63 yrs on this planet.

Nissan Wellington provided us with a fantastic service for a brand new Juke. Jack was outstanding. Every car showroom needs a Jack! After a terrible service from Eden Mazda in Taunton, Nissan was excellent in every aspect of our initial visit through ordering and then collection. I cannot praise Jack enough. A great car too! Thank you! Highly recommend this show room! Excellent customer service.

I had to change cars due to my Motability lease being up and getting no discount for being with them 7 years, went up the road to Bassetts, Swansea, found a car straight away and was offered a good chunk off the deposit. Picked up the car fine. Shane was very helpful. And made the process so easy. I had mere days to find a car so was in a panic. After 5 minutes inside with the staff, I was relaxed and not made to feel stupid if I asked questions. A pet peeve of mine. All smiles, offered refreshments...

Nissan has just turned off NissanConnect EV, affecting vehicles as young as four years old. If you want a car that lasts less than three years, consider a Nissan.

Very disappointing experience with Nissan. I paid over £3,000 for a clutch repair, and the clutch failed again shortly afterwards. Instead of taking responsibility or investigating the issue properly, Nissan refused to help and offered no meaningful resolution.
Communication was poor, dismissive, and unprofessional. I was left without a working car and had to deal with unnecessary stress and extra costs because of their lack of accountability.
I’m sharing this to warn others be cautious when booking repairs with Nissan and make sure everything is documented. I won’t be returning.
