Cookie rules

Have just received an email from Nextdoor to say their policy and terms have been upgraded, however they are breaking the law on data protection by not allowing the cookies to be declined. Yahoo have received a massive fine for non-compliance and the more we users report organisations the less intrusion we will face.

If I could give it zero stars I would

If I could give it zero stars I would. Awful nasty site. They have unprofessional moderators who are just local busy bodies who dish out arbitrary moderation for anyone who they disagree with or take a disliking to. Some examples are local artists who have arbitrarily been banned despite huge support on the site, others whose opinions certain moderators dont like and reasons being used to take down content that bear no resemblance to the actual content itself, If you contact Next door itself they do nothing and it seems even when other more reasonable moderators can see that one of their own is a nasty spiteful individual who has too much time on their hands nothing can be done to remove that individual from dishing out poor moderation decisions. Have been on there for a year or so and just got sick and tired of all the nastiness to be honest. Stick with facebook or x.

Needs a Negative Star Rating.

If I could give a negative star, I would do so. My experience of my local Nextdoor is of a totally right-wing biased group in which bullying and breaches of privacy are not only tolerated but encouraged. A very unpleasant group of people, upheld by the Staff in Ireland. We must assume that the Nextdoor organisation does not care, as they cannot even be bothered to look at the reviews

Expect appalling treatment and…

Expect appalling treatment and punishment if you fall foul of their T's and C's . Blatant misuse is one thing but I apparently broke a rule and was subjected to what I can only call a kangaroo court.
My membership was withdrawn indefinitely by some nameless individual. Through my messages with them it's clear there is no transparency and their replies have got me nowhere. In my opinion nextdoor is little more than a selling platform with a few extra features thrown in.
I joined on a whim but soon discovered trolls and key board warriors. It's a very far left site where your post can easily be taken down if a complaint is received by the moderators or. admins. I'm not sure exactly who. I will shortly try to delete my account bearing in mind I can't log on.If I'm unsuccessful I will contact the Information Commissioner.
All in all my verdict on nextdoor is that it stinks and doesn't deserve even one star.

Bad and stressful experience overall

The worst website/app ever, so full of trolls and nasty people. The site asks you for all of your personal details upfront including full name, home address, postcode, phone number and even next of kin. Puts you at risk if they get hacked or sell off details. Lots of fake posts too where the situation described is just too ridiculous to be real, the poster doing it to encourage people to visit the site more frequently or maybe even to gain a high number of clicks or views on the post.

There are resident trolls (misogynists) who read through each and every post and then "take sides" to create an argument and discussion which can turn nasty very quickly when they gang up on you. That is why a lot of the women don't bother to comment on the posts. This site/app is a good indication of how collecting a lot of angry time wasters can result in a lot of hostility, racism, bullying and harassment. Stay clear of this one, I just deleted my account and removed the app from my phone.

NextDoor seem to hate freelancers

I'm a freelance performer and star in my own touring theatre shows. I have been with NextDoor for many years but they now insist that I 'prove' I am a business. However their ridiculously stringent requirements can only be met by large businesses. I presume they are trying to remove all freeelance businesses from their users which seems an incredibly stupid policy. I've been hoping it would change but it hasn't, and soon I'll just leave as it's of no use to me if I can only read posts and never be part of the community.

I was just blocked because I suggested…

I was just blocked because I suggested a better way to advise everyone on my personal approach to how our public money should be spent. I gave the example of roads. I was challenging but not rude. It was in the public interest and out there to be challenged by anyone. It provided a potential solution. The kind of high level solution for that I have provided all my clients for similar over decades only they are (of course) charged for my advice. I am now blocked which is ridiculous but if they prefer to not allow their members to coordinate for logical, non-violent actual change then I don’t need my time wasted anyway.

Next door is for (nothing wrong with these but no broader) missing cats. Cleaners/builders looking for work, fly tipping, selling or buying unverified things or services (could be dodgy)

Avoid this company

I am self employed trader and set up draft advert on Nextdoor. Advert was never used and I was unable to verify my business as I am not VAT registered. They over charged me £120 for something that was not visible to potential customers and not verified.
Contacted customer support and they were unwilling to issue refund or accept that they blocked any changes to the ad.
Never got one lead from the ad they charged me for that was not placed.
Don’t give them your credit card information!

Hard to log in wants constant email or…

Hard to log in wants constant email or some other way to authentic yourself every single time you try to access it.
Noticed nothing but nasty comments about other neighbour's in the area which shouldn't be allowed unless you're a risk to society.
No matter how many times I block notifications in my email they return a week later.
And people moaning about fox poop is unbelievable. Epping we live by huge forests and have built on their land not the other way around. We throw our food away into huge bins when the foxes would eat it in minutes if you left it in a dish. They are totally overlooked as vermin they are the dog family yet Live just 2 years if they are lucky. We do nothing to spey them to keep down the numbers we let rich government types let dogs tear them to shreds and all you do is moan about poop. Seriously when you own a dog and you leave its poop outside a Cafe where we eat your ok with that. Get a grip people and stop being nasty nosey neighbour's which most of you are.
Horrible place to go to be honest especially if you enjoy your privacy.
