Instalation very good but after service terrible. Im still waiting for paperwork so I can go onto Octopus because this compay have not provided an MCS or Flxiorb certificate. On checking this company is not MCS approved so buyers beware it will cost you an extra £250 to get these documents for which you have been told by Nationwide they will sort. Then when you try to contact them you get no response. I feel as if I've been scammed by Yorkshires so called NO1 renewable energy supplier

AVOID AVOID AVOID! After deleting my last comment due to them offering me a £200 refund to resolve all the issues I have had I have just been informed I will not be receiving this! Paid £500 for a product which has not worked which they only gave me a £400 refund for! Also not connecting me to the grid through Octopus energy like promised costing me an extra £300 which I have had to pay octopus to do so! So I accepted the £200 refund to meet me in the middle of the £400 out of pocket and now yet again they have not done what was promised! I cannot advise anyone enough please avoid this company at all costs!
Just lies lies lies and a company who just wants to rob there customers! An awful company who just lies lies lies! Do not buy anything from these please!
Responding to your response - I have a new build property so that is the 1st lie - and it was installed it just did not work just full of lies again!
Regarding the connection to Octopus you arranged for me to cancel my current supplier and would get my home connected so I can export to the grid! And that was a lie as the paperwork you offer is not accepted by Octopus so they require me to pay to get the export tariff set up!
JUST AVOID AT ALL COSTS! There are many solar companies out there who will do the job properly and professionally just lies lies lies!

I spoke to Selma regarding the certificate and she was very professional, polite and very helpful.

I was told by the company employed to install the solar panels they had been given the wrong instructions, so the installation took 12 hours instead of the quoted 5 hours, half the installation was done in the dark. The battery supplied was wrong and was replaced about a week later. The original inverter was also wrong and the correct one fitted about a week later. Eventually the installation was all correct but the organisation was very poor hence the 2 star rating.

Please please please do not use this company
Had my solar panel fitted since September. And nothing but problems. And the just don't care, they are not interested, and that's if you can get in touch with them, I'm sure after installation the block your number, 10 panels, battery, inverter now not fit for purpose.. solar panels don't charge battery, so have to rely on cheap rate charging from the grid after midnight, and guess what.. not one piece of paper work from them only paper work we have is the original contract we signed after agreeing to let this so called company install our panels. WISH I NEVER SET EYES ON THIS COMPANYIES NAME. TOTALLY DISGUSTED

Remember to get a cam certificate if net you will not be able to sell the excess electric Bach to the grid unless you pay £1000.00 for it to prove the equipment is compatible the electric still goes back to the grid so if must be compatible you just don't get payed

Everything was going fine until i asked for my paperwork. Its 7 months now excuses after excuses. Now i find they dont provide mcs number. I cant export any energy until i have this.

Absolutely awful and stressful experience with NWR, it's taken 9 months to get almost sorted. They employ cheap inexperienced contractors that botch the job and then it takes months of phone call, emails & Trustpilot reviews to get them to correct their incompetent work.
They even refuse to do anything whilst a negative review is still on line. I'm now awaiting them to correct the unacceptable way their roofers laid the top row of roof tiles and for the invoice for the work completed, which they have failed to provide after numerous requests.
My advise is to stay well clear and use a reputable company that is MCS registered.
In response to NWR comments:-
The technical faults were caused by faulty installation, however the battery was not faulty, they had tried to fob me off with fitting a 5kW battery, whereas I had paid for a 10kW to be fitted.
I did spend hours calling them, mainly due to the poor service dealing with my issues and they repeatedly lied ro me.
The roof installation was arranged and the payment to the roofing contractor was made directly by NWR, so it is their responsibility to deal with them with the faults. They even made the roofing contractors wear NWR logo tee shirts to make it look like they were employed by them.
I would like the video removed as I am not at all happy with the installation and they have even lied on the video by saying the roof tiles used were Marley when in fact they are cheaper inferior roof tiles.
They should have fitted optimisers each solar panel as the 20 panels are on 3 different roofs so some shading will occur which severely affects the out efficiency.
As their MCS and RECC registration has been terminated for non compliance, you have only 1 option to go with Octopus energy if you want to export electricity and this is dependent on an inspection costing £250.
SO BE WARNED ⚠️
UPDATE
Trustpilot have hidden this review for some unknown reason and without notifying me. This review is all true and can be proved.

I signed a contract with Nationwide Renewables back in July 2025 following a home visit from an extremely pushy salesman who stayed in my home for over an hour. I paid a £1,000 deposit there and then as I was initially convinced. The next day, and following some additional research, I decided to cancel in line as is my right under consumer protection laws.
What followed was what I can only decide as a hellish experience, being constantly harassed by phone, often on a daily basis. The calls initially consisted of them asking me to "explain myself", and included accusations that I intentionally led them on. After a week or so, they started promising that the refund would be processed, which never happened despite multiple phone calls.
After nearly a month of this and feeling exhausted, I left a review on a site elsewhere detailing my experience. From there, the phone calls became even more frequent, and more aggressive and threatening. They suggested that were going to take legal action for defamation, and that they would only refund me if I agreed to take down the review. These phone calls have continued into 2026, I have had to block nearly a dozen phone numbers from them as their contact had become tantamount to harassment. To date, no refund has been received.

⚠️ AWARE, AWARE, AWARE – DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY ⚠️
Once they take your money, they do not care.
This company’s main motivation appears to be taking customers’ money by making promises they cannot deliver. I have learned the hard way, and I am writing this review to warn others.
My solar panels were fitted in the first week of July 2025, but not as agreed. I paid for 8 panels, yet only 6 were installed. A manager later had to come to my home to redo the contract after payment had already been taken. They only knocked a small amount off the total for the two missing panels, which is completely unacceptable given what I paid for.
Seven months later, my system still has not been switched to the promised cheaper tariff. I was clearly told by David (the salesperson) that my tariff would change on the day of installation and that the company would handle everything, so I “wouldn’t need to stress about anything.”
However, I am now being asked to pay an additional £250 because Nationwide has failed to provide the required completion certificates, which Octopus needs in order to switch the tariff. This cost was never mentioned at the time of sale. As a result, I am stuck paying the full standard tariff, costing me extra every month.
Even more concerning, even if I pay the £250, there is still no guarantee that Octopus will switch my tariff. I have been told that if the switch cannot be completed, I would only receive £150 back, meaning I would still be out of pocket by £100 — despite this situation being caused by Nationwide’s failure to provide the correct certification.
Crucially, Nationwide cannot provide the required MCS certificate, which are essential for proving the installation is compliant and for enabling tariff changes and system validation. This failure is the main reason my tariff cannot be switched and why I am now being asked to pay
The installation itself was not completed according to the contract. Parts of the work I paid for — including the smart heating control system — remained unfinished for months, despite repeated promises it would be completed. While the smart heating has now been installed, nothing else has been resolved.
During installation, the scaffolding company severely damaged my resin driveway, which I paid over £7,000 for. I reported this immediately and sent video evidence to Nationwide on the same day. Seven months later, the damage has still not been repaired, my driveway continues to deteriorate,
I have made over 100 phone calls trying to get answers. Customer service has been appalling. On one occasion, when I asked to speak to someone familiar with my case, I was put through to a staff member who was rude, dismissive, refused to take a message, and even hung up on me.
I have also submitted two Subject Access Requests (SARs) for my personal data, which have been completely ignored, despite this being a legal requirement under GDPR.
Most concerning of all, I was told by the company that if I removed my Trustpilot review, they would try to resolve the issues. I did so in good faith, yet nothing has been resolved, apart from the smart heating installation. The rest of the issues remain outstanding.
This entire experience has caused huge stress, financial loss, and endless frustration.
Please, please, please think very carefully before using this company.
I strongly recommend choosing a reputable company such as Octopus instead. Nationwide Renewables is not worth the stress or the money you will end up wasting.
“Update in response to Nationwide Renewables’ reply:” 17/02/26
My contact details have not changed, and I have made multiple attempts to contact Nationwide myself.
I paid for 8 panels, and the reduction to 6 was only discussed after payment.
The £250 Octopus issue arose due to missing certification following installation.
Driveway damage also remains unresolved since July 2025.
I am happy to resolve matters formally in writing but require clear timelines and documentation.

Update- since this review was originally posted on 29th September on google I was contacted. And asked to remove my review. Signed a document that stated they will :
1. Finalizing the installation and functionality of the Smart Heating system.
2. Inspecting and arranging the repair for the Resin Driveway.
Reviewing the usage and troubleshooting any issues related to the system's App and overall system usage.
4. Diagnosing and resolving the issue where the Battery does not appear to be charging.
5. Providing the necessary documentation to enable the customer to export to the grid.”
ONLY IF WE REMOVE THE REVIEW
The exact wording is “ To expedite the payment process for the required remedial work (especially the driveway and any necessary parts/labor), we would be very grateful if you could temporarily remove or suspend your negative online reviews before my arrival.”
The only work carried out was the smart heating and even that was an exhausting experience. The company tried to use a google nest but Nest pulled out of the UK. We were lucky the installer had a Hive thermostat available and he could instal - he took the Google nest as he was afraid he wouldn't get paid for the actual work carried out.(who would blame him if he’s been sub contracted by this company before)
I have actually uploaded this document on google reviews so feel free to go have a look at the lies they tell.

Awful. Find a better company.
Awful company to get solar panels from, we got a quote from one of the sales reps which was great, went ahead with it and arranged for the installation. They use third party companies for scaffolding and electricians.
First the Scaffolders came and put the scaffolding up which was wrong as it didn't cover the full front of the house (a safety hazard for the workers that were going to be going in the roof)
Next was that we were quoted for 8 solar panels but when the solar panels arrived we were told that only 6 could be installed due to placement on the roof. To which WE then had to ring the company and inform them of this and argue with them over how the price should be reduced to reflect this as its a breach of the contract.
Then after the installation it was time to take the scaffolding down at which time the scaffolders were throwing connectors which damaged and disfigured our resin driveway. When we reported this to them they asked for evidence. Which we sent them. No reply. No fix. Nothing.
Next, is the awful timing and communication. It has been months since the installation and we have received 0 communication from them and have made multiple calls requesting an update on certification and when the switch will be made through the electricity provider to solar panels to which not a single call back has been received. Every single time I have called I have been told that I will definitely get a call back and Never do

Now being ignored. It’s been 13 months since installation - Dec 24. Still not able to sell to the grid. I have been so understanding and lenient with them but they’ve clearly taken me for a mug. They’re unreliable and unprofessional.

Reply from Nationwide Renewables
Solar panels installed, but no certificates, no follow up on paperwork, no invoices , now worried on other bits like building regs, etc.
Now no answer to calls, you can’t get hold of people to talk to.
This company is not MSc registered either, which most energy companies require.
I was going to fit a battery, but was advised that I wouldn’t need it, so glad I didn’t spend the additional money with this company.
Shame as this was sold to a very sick man who has now passed away & this was all rushed through & I have been left to sort out along with grief.
I wish we had done more checking, but when you have no idea what to check, you rely on experts.
Shocking, shocking…I feel so betrayed & looking at recent comments from others, they all feel the same.

I've added and deleted my review couple of times because this company promised me to resolve the issue if I do so, but that was a lie. They lied about having valid certificates, which I waited months for and never received. They lied that I will be able to sell excess energy and it's been going on over a year, since June 2024. Basically tricked me into buying from them and didn't deliver single promise.
Their response to this review is also not true. Fraud

1. Quote ''When only Mr. Shaw was present, our representative voluntarily offered a second, no-charge consultation on November 21st, absorbing the associated time and travel costs. ''
It takes some courage to call your sales visit as no-charge consultation, who would pay to let your salesperson come into their own house? Would you?
2. When your project manager called me the first time, she straight away started trying to sell extra panels and told me that 2 panels fitted on the north facing roof will work exactly the same as those ones on the south, which is completely the opposite of what we were told by your salesperson, we were told that panels on the north would barely generate any electricity, so here, either one of them is not professionally trained and don't know a thing about your product, or one of them is simply lying to the customer, you tell me, which one is the answer?
3. Your contract were printed on both sides, with all the product information on the front and terms and conditions on the back -- in two very different print sizes, on both sides of your contract, there is a customer signature section for customers to sign to confirm that they are aware of the information and agree to them, as we have never been advised of any terms and conditions, as nothing has ever been mentioned to us, my husband and I only signed on the front, which means that we agreed to the product information on the front, neither of us signed on the back because we were not told therefore we DO NOT AGREE to them, actually 6th December 2025 was the date we first time heard about this cancellation policy from your project manager.
4. Back to your claim of we have never contact you in regards to installation date. The salesperson was fully aware that we applied a loan from TESCO and for some reason that TESCO needs to send me paperwork to verify my identification before releasing the loan, the reason that we did not go ahead with the 1st installation date was because the paperwork from TESCO did not arrive on time, my husband told your project manager this before the first installation date, and also he made it very clear that we can not make second payment until the loan was released, but still at this point no cancellation policy or cancellation fee was mentioned or brought to our attention.
AS A BUSINESS WE DO EXPECT TO RECEIVE COMMUNICATION FROM YOU IN WRITING, IF YOU HAVE NO PROBLEMS SENDING US LONG EMAIL TO THREAT FOR DEBT COLLECTION -- ALMOST AS LONG AS YOUR REPLY BELOW, THEN YOU SHOULD HAVE NO ISSUES WITH WRITING TO US TO DISCUSS RESCHEDULING INSTALLATION DATE.
07/12/2025
-------------------------------------------------------
Their sales person came to our house and spent 3hours with my husband and didn't even get to the point of talking about cost, they insisted that I have to be there in person.
2nd visit took 5 hours then we were told 8 panels are perfect for our south facing roof and no battery needed. We were then pushed to sign the contract and made payment for £1500.00 for deposit.
2 days later their project manager S called, straight away she started trying to sell us the battery and 2 more panels to be fitted on our north facing roof -- which their salesperson has advised that panels on north facing roof would not work the same capacity as the ones on the south facing roof.
We then started having doubts about this company and lucky enough to find all the reviews on trustpilot about MCS registration etc.
We then request refund of £1500.00 from NWR and then was told there was a cancellation fee and other penalties, so now they request another payment of £450.00 from us and threatened us with debt collection.
We then checked the paperwork as we are 100% sure that these terms and conditions and cancellation fees were never mentioned before signing the contract, we then found these were all on the BACK of the contract in very small print, and there is a signature section for customers to sign -- very lucky that we DID NOT sign it.
If no refund received we will definite be in contact with Trading Standards officers.

The electricians who installed the solar panels were efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. They completed the installation with minimal disruption to my household.
The office staff I found to be helpful and friendly. The only criticism is having to wait for the documents to come and the removal of the scaffolding.

*Update* Nationwide Renewables have flagged this review as not accurate and it has been taken down. I can assure you it is 100% accurate and I will continue to repost it.
*Update* Since my review they have called me serval times, offering to send someone round (which I definitely don’t want), offering to give me a price via call back and to give me a price via email ( and also in a different call saying this wasn’t possible)… guess what? Still no price!
Utterly bizarre experience. 2.5 hour sales pitch… yes 2.5 hours, only to be told (at the end) that they wouldn’t get into the cost unless we were definitely moving forwards. Even after what I imagine is a very scripted call to the office.
Who in their right minds would say yes, without a price? The Salesman was very polite and pleasant and clearly following a company process, so not at fault. But what a ridiculous way to try and make a sale. Imagine being asked to say yes to buying a car without being told the price…
Not just, not being told but an outright refusal to tell you how much it is. The mind boggles.
What a complete waste of our time.
Even if there was a price given the sales pitch was needlessly long. You could condense it into 15 minutes (plus assessment) and it would still have pointless padding.
I don’t know if this is industry standard but god I hope not… I’m more likely to start burning coal in my garden to generate power than sit through another pitch.

We started this process in November last year, on the promise from your sales guy that we'd get a feed in tariff which is the reason we signed up. Since they are not MCS compliant, energy companies will not provide the FIT unless correct documentation is provided (Electrical compliance, Building compliance & Itemised copy invoice to check equipment supplied) I was disappointed that it took so long (along with other issues) and so put a bad review on @Trustpilot which I was then blackmailed to take off in order to receive the correct documents, (all recorded on email BTW), and I'm still waiting!! Trading Standards, energyombudsman MCS, & nationaltradingstandards are going to have a field day if we don't receive the package you sold us. (I think ITV do a good scam programme these days too, wonder if they'd be interested??) This isn't going under the carpet, I'm pretty keen on this sort of thing.
06.11.25 Update; as of 3 weeks ago I was assured by Suzie at the company who called personally that this would be resolved in 2 weeks, I gave another weeks grace, tried calling back on her personal number apparently... no answer straight to recorded message therefore still not resolved.
Sorry Nationwide Renewables; after being blackmailed again to take down the review; this time its not coming off unless you sort.
Regards, Ben Fullalove
As for the reply, you can check your recorded telephone calls that specifically ask me to remove the review before you would contact and instate the FIT...Twice!
In my book; that's blackmail and its been over a year, I'm not interested in dealing with you any further, hence our lack of communication. Oh and still not had an itemised invoice, you have my number and email address; no excuse.

Everything in this review is in my honest opinion and is written in the public interest. I am reposting this because Nationwide Renewables managed to get it taken down by claiming that it was advertising a well known advice charity. I think it will be put back up, but I don't want to wait.
I really wanted solar panels so I accepted the offer of a free consultation. Having checked before buying that I was entitled to change my mind within 14 days, I paid a deposit to get the panels on Thursday evening, March 13th. I had been informed that the deal I was being offered was only available if I signed up on the spot (now 7pm, after a visit that was scheduled to begin at 2.30) and I should have known better.
That same evening I started to feel uneasy about the company and the whole situation, particularly as the research I did over the next few days uncovered that that the company was not registered with the major energy export organisation. I felt concerned that this could impact on my ability to sell my house. They were unable to provide me with any other accreditations, or reassure me that there would be any protection on my investment if the actual design was at fault rather than the panels themselves.
I had been told verbally at the sales pitch that there was a 'yield warranty', then I was told by email that this was not in fact the case.
I was also advised by a knowledgeable third party that the installation may be ineffective, and felt that this was not a risk I could afford to take.
I decided to cancel the contract and informed the company in writing on Tuesday afternoon (18th March - well within the 14 day cooling off period)
A few days later I got a phone call that I felt was angry and unprofessional from the sales rep demanding to discuss my cancellation and not only refusing to return my 550.00 deposit but actually claiming they should have more of my savings for 'work done' - ie switching my electricity supplier and doing an 'online survey'.
As the contract was signed in my house and not on their premises this is not applicable (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013).
I also had concerns about the nature of their selling, which I felt was very pushy, as well as some of the misleading information I was given.
I would strongly advise you not to let anyone from this company into your house in the first place.
For anyone who finds themselves in a similar position, there is very good advice available from Citizens Advice Bureau website and they will advise you by phone. They can also put complaints through to Trading Standards. You may also be able to get some free legal advice via your union or your insurance, and there are some good online help forums out there.
Updates:
After I posted this for the first time, they tried to negotiate with me to take down the review, though still trying to keep half my deposit. They called me repeatedly even though I had told them that I only wanted to communicate by email. In order to get even half my deposit back, they wanted me to sign a contract, which would presumably include not telling people what they are up to, and/ or not reposting the review.
Update 2: They offered me a full refund of my deposit on condition that I take down this review, which I refused to do as I feel my experiences may be helpful to others and are in the public interest.
Update 3 - Two employees turned up at my door uninvited asking to speak to me, which felt extremely intrusive.
Update 4 - They sent me a cease and desist notice for this review, along with an invoice of 935.00 for 'cancellation of the installation date, cancellation of survey, non-reusable administration fees'. I altered some minor parts of the review to protect myself, making sure that everything is factual or my honest opinion, but was not going to hide information that might help others.
Update 5 - I got my deposit back through my bank's Chargeback scheme. Nationwide Renewables did try to appeal this decision, but no appeal has been upheld.
Update 6 - They actually had the nerve to take me to County Court for not paying the cancellation fees. They lost. Because, as the law clearly states, I was entitled to a 14 day cooling off period, and the contract does not override the law.
I had other strong legal arguments against them also, but I never got to use them, because they had no case.
Update 7 - they are still trying to get this review taken down....
Update 8 - lol (see latest NWR reply)
