NO MORE THAN A HEATED TENT!

NO MORE THAN A HEATED TENT!
We returned home early from a 4 night booking having been given a motorhome with no functioning water supply.

So NO SHOWER, NO TOILET & NO WORKING SINK.

We had been corresponding with technical team via email/text and phone calls since arriving at campsite with no success. No matter what they talk us through the water appears to be blocked...hardly convenient when travelling with young child.
Speaking to customer services is a nightmare and to top it off I am now reading horrific reviews on line re fight to ensure refundable deposit is repaid.
When I made original email enquiry the sales person chased me daily to confirm booking, funny now they won’t touch my frantic calls with a barge pole.
Definitely would recommend avoiding this company and using possibly more local independent motorhome company.
Now they have offered a pathetic £5.00 a day compensation?!?!!!!!
I will fight this all the way and don’t start me on the uphill battle I no doubt face chasing “refundable” deposit back....if everything I read now about them in true.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!

PLEASE do not use this motorhome company

PLEASE do not use this motorhome hire company it has taken us four months to get our £1,250 after engaging our credit card company. They don’t respond to calls or emails and on the rare occasion you are able to speak to someone they lie to you. It has been the most miserable stressful experience dealing with them

National Motorhomes are fraudsters and scammers.

I too am battling to regain my deposit. This company are a disgrace and are criminals. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AT ANY COST! I will be contacting a the police, solicitor, trading standards and Watchdog about this criminal activity. As many others have reported, i have seven different numbers for this shower of c#@p and do not get an answer on any of them. They dont return your calls or e mails. I am wondering why on earth due to the levels of complaints about this companies fraudulent activities that trading standards have not acted a lot more forcefully by now.

Seriously avoid this company.

Seriously avoid this company.
You will regret it big time otherwise.
You are made to sign forms taking liability for "non-insurable" damage in what is a very large and complex vehicle, having had only a very short period of time to inspect it yourself. Of course there will be pre-existing defects that haven't already been documented. When you return the vehicle to the depot in Byely, a miserable, curt man spends over half an hour performing a forensic examination of the vehicle and then points out the tiniest of defects resulting in the loss of a substantial proportion of your deposit. There is no way of arguing with them even when you point out that the slight damage is as a result of an existing defect. I have no doubt that many others have had similar experiences and that deposits are not fully refunded for the vast majority of customers.
In addition, don't get taken in by their "special offers"; there will be lots of extras due including substantial charges for picking up or dropping off outside their arbitrarily short window. ALL extras also incur an additional "admin fee" of about £10 for each additional extra.
Don't forget, necessary extras include substantial charges just for travelling over 100 miles per day, changes to pick up and drop off times, insurance, and on and on.
Be warned.

Sharp Practice

Giving a one-star review of this company only because no-stars is not an option. Booked a 7-day hire from this company, via an online voucher site, then read the reviews. Believe me, THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO DO IT!
The booking process is one long exercise in producing items at additional cost, including a deposit, against which these costs can be - and will be - charged. Costs like sat-navs, insurance, fines for every occasion you exceed 70m.p.h., fines for returning the vehicle late and charges for damage you cause to the vehicle. This latter seems reasonable enough, until you find yourself on the receiving end of accusations that you caused a tiny crack in the faring on the roof, solely on the grounds that it wasn’t pictured on the tablet they used - and you never got to see - during the 10 minute “familiarisation” exercise when you turn up to collect the vehicle. They refuse to entertain the possibility that they might have missed it themselves, but interestingly enough, find it immediately the vertically challenged member of staff checks the roof from down on tne ground. It is no surprise to hear that the complete section of faring will probably need replacing, according to the manager, who ludicrously states that they don’t have anything to do with these things. “Head Office deals with all that”
But where is Head Office? It’s not where the vehicle is. So how does Head Office get to know about the responsibility of hirers for causing cracks in the roof faring? I wonder if the manager knows? Who puts the case for the hirers? I wonder if the manager knows? Who estimates the repair costs? I wonder if the manager knows?
When you consider the vehicle can’t be picked up before 4p.m. - unless you pay the extra charge - and you find it difficult to get it back - in the impeccable condition required - by 11a.m. on the last day of your hire, you will soon realise that your 7-day hire is more like a 5-day hire. And when you add to that the complaints of so many more customers than me, on so many review sites, you will come to understand - much more quickly than you will see you deposit again - THAT THIS IS A COMPANY TO AVOID.
