Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the payment system, often receiving fines despite having paid or attempting to pay. Customers also frequently report problems with the pricing, finding the fines excessive and disproportionate, especially for short stays or minor infractions. The location of the car parks and the clarity of signage were also sources of frustration, leading to confusion and unexpected charges. Reviewers also found the claims process to be unhelpful, with appeals often rejected even with proof of payment or extenuating circumstances. The overall service provided by the company was widely criticized for being unsatisfactory and unaccommodating. Some people were satisfied with their appeals, with charges occasionally being dropped after persistent effort.

My child got injured and so I needed to pick them up from town. Double yellows everywhere and traffic so nowhere safe other than here. I picked them up here, got them in car seats and left within 5 minutes yet got a parking ticket despite the fact we just stopped for 5 minutes to get them in and left. Appeal rejected and now forced to pay £100 instead of £60. Disgusting, vile company. Will absolutely not use their car parks ever again that's for damn sure. Disgrace

I just received a parking charge from…

I just received a parking charge from Napier Parking for use of one of their car parks.
My understanding is that I paid for a ticket, with contactless payment, the machine issued the ticket, I put it in the car window and went about my business.
Fortunately, I had not thrown the ticket away. I was able to retrieve it. At that I point I discovered, in tiny print, that the transaction had not gone through and it had been cancelled. I had no reason to believe this had happened. I had looked at the ticket at the time and noted the amount paid was the amount I wanted.
I have appealed against the fine and I await a response, but not in hope, things being what they are and seeing other reviews of these people.
However, I have noted the location of Napier Parking and the names of those associated with it, so I can take appropriate action should it be necessary. If I am to be treated badly because of Napier Parking's service, it seems fair that I should make them aware of the stress and anxiety they have already caused me, even without the monetary extortion.

Money-grubbing predators

This company is now issuing Parking Charges to Environment Agency emergency response teams who are working to protect not only local properties, but the cars in the very car park where the Flood Defence scheme is situated. They refused the appeal despite knowing the reason for the visit, and despite us having a long-standing agreement with the previous owners for unrestricted access! Evil, greedy Tw@ts!

Daylight Robbery!

I will never understand how companies like this can operate in business. How do you get away with robbing people of £60 or £100 for failing to pay £1 parking charge? 60 or 100 times the initial amount is despicable. The company cannot be approached via a phone call as they only have an automated system - you have no chance of speaking with a person. The appeals system is literally a tick-box exercise and clearly they have no compassion or understanding of individual circumstances. You're just delaying the inevitable if you attempt an appeal - disgrace that companies like this are allowed to operate. I won't ever use Boston Shopping Park again, and for the number of other complainants who say the same, no wonder businesses on retail parks like this, go out of business!

I hope karma comes to get the owners of this company because they're running a complete scam.

I was charged for overstaying, based on their interpretation that the parking period runs from the moment your vehicle enters the car park to the moment it exits. This leaves no reasonable allowance for the time it takes to find a space, park, purchase a ticket, return to your vehicle, and leave.

While this may be outlined in their terms, the key details are not presented clearly. The signage is cluttered with dense, small-print text, making it difficult to identify this critical condition. In practice, it feels designed in a way that catches people out rather than informing them properly.

Also, the car park in question is in an area where there is no signal, so you can not use any apps and the terminal takes time to navigate.

Absolutely disgraceful company

Absolutely disgraceful company. My partner and I tried to park in one of their carparks. My partner is disabled so I tried to phone the number on the sign. 4 attempts later, being cut off by an absolutely rubbish answering machine that couldnt understand my English accent we gave in and drove out. We were there less than 10 minutes but received a fine. The directors of this company should be ashamed of themselves for treating people this way. I URGE PEOPLE PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN THESE CARPARKS, clearly the management are getting rich on peoples misery.

Absolute scum

Napier are the absolute scum of the earth, they get rich preying on vulnerable people. They don't recognise blue badges except as a sign of vulnerability of their victims. I really hope they get what they deserve and that it is painful.

This company that run the car parks…

This company that run the car parks are dirty thieving rats They charged me £170 to pick an autistic child up that was having a meltdown in one of the shops where their car park is I was in there for 15 minutes and now I have to pay £170 fine spoke to the people on the phone not interested they are anti-disabled anti-autistic company. They have no compassion or care they are after is your money and that’s it I would never park in one of their car parks again. I’d rather pay a fine W yellow line so if you have disabled children or autistic children don’t park in these car parks because all I want is your money and if your child that’s disabled decides that he’s gonna have a meltdown and you haven’t got your ticket within 15 minutes you’ll be fine for it thank you very much

Avoid the conmen

They are thieving scumbags. Used a car park in Ipswich I’ve never used before. Couldn’t pay with cash. Took ages to download the app, paid for my parking but charged from the moment I entered the car park. There was no clear signage to indicate this. Appealed & unsurprisingly it was rejected by AI. Can’t even FOI them as they’re a private company. Fingers crossed they go the same way as NCP. Avoid.

100 pounds for less than 7 minutes - Bargain!

I spent less than 7 minutes in the Jengers Mead car park whilst collecting a well earnt fish and chip supper 3 weeks ago - little did I know it would be a very expensive supper. Assuming that the 10 minute grace period offered by reputable car park operators would win out - I appealed my 100 Pound ticket, which of course was simply rejected. I requested proof of visible signage during night time but nothing was provided. For anyone interested in visiting the companies house web site you will see that Napier Parking Ltd revenue has increased significantly over the last year, most likely at the expense of local businesses struggling to survive in a rural West Sussex village. UK PLC does not need this type of operation, I don't know how the directors of Napier Parking sleep at night, but I do know how they will be ultimately judged.

Dirty thieving rats

Dirty thieving rats, I went in to park and didn’t have any change for machine so I left virtually after a few minutes and got a £100 fine, I appealed but they were having none of it, I’m a OAP and can’t afford to pay this so I’ll just have to turn the heating down now, give this scamming company a wide berth

Horrific bunch of crooks

Horrific bunch of crooks.

There was an error in the online form where it kept defaulting to a vehicle I used once and not mine. I explained this, showed proof of purchase every time, by the time the error had been made aware to me I had used the car park around 8 times to walk my dog. They charged me £20 reduced fee for each time even though I showed proof of purchase and one of the letters I missed they escalated to an agency for £280 for a £2 fee which was paid. Absolutely no empathy for a genuine web issue when I could prove payment was made every time. Horrific company to deal with, especially when there's a cost of living crisis and they're charging £280 fines for a £2 error when no funds were actually lost by them.

Absolutely criminal

Absolutely criminal. They get money from catching people out with poor signage and slapping £100 fines on people who simply drive through their car park by a mistake. Should be shut down.
