Good Store

Every time I dealt with this store it was a rewarding experience, I returned shoes, there was never a problem. I don't know what the complaints are about, you can't blame the store because of Birkenstock cork wearing out. And every time I called the store someone answered and was very helpful. These experiences where in both 2023 and nowl.

This company only got a 1 star review…

This company only got a 1 star review as - wasn't available. I would recommend nobody should touch them. I received the wrong item and there is no way to contact them either by email or phone. They have taken my money under false pretences. Do as I have and report them to the authorities.

BUYER BEWARE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I

I purchased boots from THE BAY and The Shoe Shop is a third party seller. The boots were too small and the refund adventure began. I returned the boots back to The Bay and had to wait till the Shoe Shop received them before getting a refund. I did my part, my refund should have been automatic as the agreement is between them and the Shoe Shop. I handed over the merchandise but no refund. Trying to the deal with the Shoe Shop was awful, they have the worst customer service. After several e-mails, over 8 hours over the course of 4 days trying to get help from the Bay customer service with no results and absolutely no help, I went to corporate level where finally someone heard my voice and helped me. The Shoe Shop received my boots 2 days after I dropped them off proven and checked by Purolator courier yet the Shoe Shop lied and said that they had no tracking number or boots. It wasn't until I told them about my findings and corporate getting involved did I get a refund minus $12 processing fee or what I call the SCAM FEE. Outrageous. The process should have been two days but it was over after approx.12 days and only because I got involved and was determined to get my refund. I never read the reviews about The Shoe Shop and that was my mistake. They are mostly all negative and that speaks volumes. If I would have read them I would never have bought anything from them. I had to have my voice heard here as I don't want the next person to have to go thru what I did. The Shoe Shop is dishonest and SHAME ON THEM. There are plenty of other places to shop. Do your homework, read the reviews. They make the difference.

Terrible customer service

As they say, I would leave zero stars if I could!!! Recently I purchased a pair of genuine leather Birkenstocks online during an end of season sale. I wore them only a handful of times before bad weather kicked in. I pulled them out this summer and noticed as I started to wear them the cork is cracking and separating from the suede foot bed. This has never happened with any of my other birks and I’ve never had damage like this on the sole after not even a season of wear. When I contacted my shoe shop they told me aside from paying out of my own pocket to mail them back so they could glue them, (which I can do myself) there’s nothing they would do. Not even a - here’s $10 off your next purchase, sorry for your trouble- nothing!! After a few emails were exchanged and photos were sent they stopped replying, I sent a follow up email to be sure and no reply. They just stopped answering. I’ve never experienced such poor customer service and it goes without saying I will not shop here again. And worth mentioning, I also contacted Birkenstock. They did nothing to help as the shoes were purchased through a retailer. I hope my situation is an exception and not an example of the quality of their shoes overall these days. But if you’re thinking of spending $200 on a pair of sandals hoping they will last, it may be worth purchasing directly from the manufacturer.

They do not back the products they sell

I bought a pair of haflinger slippers online from this store. I paid over $100.00 for a boiled wool slipper. Less than a year later, there were holes in both slippers.I wrote to them,to inform them of this. The answer I got back said that the coverage by the manufacturer was good for 6 months, something I was not aware of at time of purchase. In addition, the slippers were a year old...except who wears boiled wool slippers in the winter? They asked for pictures as proof. These were sent. Not a word has been heard since. Advice: buyer beware.

Positive experience!

Local shoe store was having a hard time getting Birkenstocks in (thanks Covid) so I searched online. Even the actual Birkenstock site was out of the model I wanted. Was surprised to see how many fakes were out there, so ended up narrowing search to only Canadian sites with physical store presence. Anyhow, ordered from this site, arrived fast and in good order. Took my local seller’s advice to always order one size down in Birks and it was the right fit. Would recommend!

Fantastic service and return policy

Fantastic service and return policy. They reply quickly to email. Unfortunately I had to return my shoes (too large), and my refund was processed quickly once they recived my items back. I would buy from this company again, they have excellent selection and service.
