If I could give a zero rating I would this company and Sam need to be exposed for the fraudsters that they are. We purchased a vehicle from them in September have written emails several times which were ignored he then suddenly replied and asked us to bring the vehicle back to them to be repaired. I phoned him on the Saturday to confirm it would be okay to bring the vehicle back on Sunday we live over 3 hours away in Kent which is a 6 hour round trip. We arrived at the premises only to find that a small portacabin was in the corner of the car lot and no there to help. I called the number that I had been contacting Sam on only to get his colleague who’s English wasn’t very clear. Sam must’ve thought I was stupid as he said that if his colleague wasn’t there to drop the keys through the letter box. We have already spent lots of money on the car and because it was a fault that appeared 20/30 miles after we had brought it we felt it should come back to the company to fix. I will be writing to trading standards but don’t suppose that they will do anything.

Karma....

Just found out company now not trading!!! Not surprised after all the bad reviews and also myself having problems with a car purchased from them!!!. Have ignored my emails and letters. They also blocked my number and also blocked other numbers when I tried to contact them again!! Glad they have been reported to trading standards and glad they gone bankrupt... maybe its karma for the way they have treated people!! When is the picket line and petition? Think I may have to join in!

The suspension collapsed on my care 3 months after they sold it to me and they have gone bankrupt without registering the 12 month AA warranty I paid for. The car was dangerously corroded underneath and needs a new sub frame, drive train and both suspension arms - there is no way this should have passed an MOT. Both MTC entities Motoring Trade Centre and Moordown Trade Centre are no longer trading

This company has gone bankrupt

This company has gone bankrupt. Sam Self is bankrupt and has folded this company. Despite this he has set up immediately under the guise of Parley Car Centre. He has left people with faulty cars and owes a number of garages money. He has been reported today to trading standards for selling me a dangerous car and refusing to give me my money back. If anyone one here wants to get involved in a petition and picket line at Parley Car Centre very soon, please add a note on Trust Pilot as one is being arranged very soon.

I bought a Vauxhall Corsa with fresh MOT from MTC. One day later the brake pads made noises and my mechanic checked the car. It needed to change front brake pads and discs and full service such as air filter, engine oil and filter. When I informed to MTC the told me that we passed the MOT and can't do anything. One day later my car brake down and didn't move and the engine alarm light turned on. They didn't give me any garage address for warranty. They told me that it has 3 months warranty. In Auto Trader advertising they advertised the car with 2 keys and £35 road tax but it had 1 key and £150 road tax. When you go there for support, they raise them sounds and they speak rudely because they know that what they did.

Buyer beware.

I will try to keep this fair and factual - otherwise what's the point. You judge a business by what they promise to their customers and what they do when things go wrong. First the promise - all vehicles undergo a stringent multi-point check before being offered for sale- 1 ) Bad - there was a serious cut in the sidewall of a tyre on the car we wanted to buy - Good - they offered to replace it -only later did we find it was with a part worn tyre. 2) Bad - Paid for the car but within minutes of driving it away there was a grinding noise from brake calliper and brake warning lights on dashboard. (Stringent check anyone?) 3) We accepted an offer to repair the car and bill MTC. 4) Bad On getting home we found a serious cut in the sidewall of the replaced tyre (Stringent check anyone?) My son's confidence in MTC shaken he asked for refund. They refused and said they would only repair. (read the fine print on their T&Cs) 5) Good - they collected, repaired and delivered the car back. 6) Bad The car had a nail in a rear tyre - MTC blamed it on the delivery company and refused to pay for the repair. Indeed Sam Self emailed me to say "I am surprised you are even bringing this up given the aftersales service we have provided...." Well fellow consumers...you decide. Was this excellent after sales service? It certainly did not feel like it as a customer - but they do get good reviews too. You decide.

Dear Mr Thorne.
Thank you for your one star review, naturally we are very dissappointed by it's content, it is so easy for customers like yourself to try and damage the reputation of our business which we have prided ourselves on building over many years. we respond as follows:
Indeed all of our vehicles do undergo a stringent multi point check before being handed over as well as a new MOT test without advisories, the alleged "serious" cut in the sidewall only turned out to be a cut in the raised kerb strip of the tyre which did not even constitute an advisory on the MOT, but to appease you we replaced it with a similar part worn tyre. 2. During the multi point check and service we replaced a brake pad warning sensor which very unfortunately turned out to be a faulty one which brought up the brake warning light, however the car was perfectly safe and fit for purpose, what you have neglected to include in your curt prose is at that very point we offered to rectify the fault and deliver the car but your son insisted in taking the car and getting the fault fixed at a garage close to him. 4. There were absolutely no grounds for a refund and indeed we collected repaired and returned the vehicle, there were no faults found to the rear brakes but as a gesture of good faith we replaced the rear discs and pads to ensure your satisfaction. We provided an excellent service to ensure your satisfaction and finally we cannot be held in any way responsible for a nail in the tyre! Indeed we do get good reviews, we only do our best, this is a difficult industry when dealing with machines, but we will always go above and beyond to help, unfortnately you can't please everybody!
We wish you all the best for the future
With kind regards

Beware!

I purchased a vehicle from this garage in April 2022, at full market value and drive 150 miles to the garage to purchase it.
I have since discovered it to be an insurance repair and a cat d which was not disclosed to me at point if sale in any shape or form not in any adverts or conversations despite me asking I even to a witness with me who can verify this. I would be very aware make sure you ask them to show you the hpi report I took there word big mistake, I have given them to rectify this prior to taking legal action and they have been abusive rude and basically telling me it was advertised as a cat d insurance repair however they still took above market value £8000 for a model with 80k on the clock with no service history I mean it was 14mths ago check the figures should of been£4000 if it was beings sold as a cat d vehicle I know it wasn't advertised as a cat d and still have all the paperwork to support this I also to a trusted friend who witnessed me asking the question has it ever been written off or in any serious accidents please beware of this garage.

Dear Mr Moore.
Frankly we are surprised and disappointed to receive your one star review and we respond as follows:
1. When you purchased this vehicle it was clearly advertised as a catagory D insurance loss, we legally have to disclose this to customers and it is automatically shown by Autotrader as the information is picked up by them from the registration number.
2. 14 months on you telephone us to complain that you have been offered a poor price for the car in part exchange at another dealer, at that point our MD was away abroad on holiday but we promised you that he would be in touch on his return to try and help you.
3. On his return some 2 or 3 days later he actually called you to try and help by purchasing the car back at the full part exchange price for which you refused. We tried to help even though we were not at fault in any way, what more could we do?
Even though your review is not appreciated we wish you well for the future.

Dear Tim

Sorry that you have felt the need to write this slanderous review.

We did indeed fail to provide you with the vehicle you ordered but this was not due to us being scum or fraudsters as you suggested.

When the vehicle went for its health check the workshops noticed a problem with the oil pump and did not want to supply you with a faulty vehicle. We kept you upto speed throughout the whole process but unfortunately you decided you wanted to cancel your order as the part we needed to complete the repair was taking a long time to arrive.

As requested we then cancelled the sale.

There is no money outstanding for your delivery. The £60 you claim to have paid for your delivery has never been traced with our accounts team as no payment was ever sent for this was it Tim.

I hope potential customers reading your false review take an open view on this when they read our response.

Hi Lee

We did all we could in relation to getting the v5 to you in good time. Unfortunalty the original was lost and the application with the DVLA seemed to take an age but at that point it really was out of our hands and we were very much in there's. I do know you are now in possession of your V5. Just wish it could have found its way to you sooner, Apologies.

Bought a Volvo V70 from MTC, after 500 miles the injectors went. We phoned and emailed Sam. He had us a courtesy car dropped of and picked the Volvo up to be repaired. Around 4-5 days later our car was delivered back to Swindon and is running like a dream. Thank you Sam and the team at MTC.

Bought a cheap run around for my daughter (£1000) very nice people and experience however 4 weeks later the head gasket went and car had to be scrapped (trusted mechanic advised) whilst I appreciate old cars are a risk the only stance this company took was not their issue and they running a business. Offers to sell me a newer car … I think not ! Had to suck up the loss and put it down to experience but very disappointing reaction

*in response we were not unwilling to pay the balance the car was not worth the cost of repairs even with the £300 warranty due to the major fault
Just felt leaving an honest review was necessary but have moved on from this experience and will be wiser when dealing with car sales companies in future

Dear Emma

I'm sorry you have felt in necessary to issue us with a 1 Star review.

As with all of our Part Exchanges of around £1000 we supply them with a New MOT and offer a 3 Month Warranty, that covers all electrical and mechanical parts for 3 Months with a £300 payout limit. This means we will cover the first £300 of any repair in the first 3 Months. At point of sale you signed to the effect you were more than happy with our warranty policy and were happy to take delivery. When you called to inform us of the fault that had developed we quickly offered you the full warranty payout of £300 but you were not prepared to cover the shortfall.

Unfortunately when you buy used goods there is always an element of risk involved. As with all of our vehicles we do everything possible to ensure the quality of our cars at point of sale but cannot foresee the future.

I wish you well in the future and am sorry you had complications with your vehicle.
