Employee Hostile and New Opening Times
Walked over to Mox in the Hole during a lunch break for some card sleeves, having not checked the opening times as I've popped in numerous times before at lunch.
A guy who I assume is the owner was present when I got there and opened the door when he saw me try to open it to tell me that they don't open until 15:00. I said, "Oh right, I thought you were open."
He asked if I was, "just picking something up," to which I responded that I was just after some card sleeves. He was abrupt and said, "Well you'll have to come back after 15:00 as the till isn't ready." I told him that's a shame as I couldn't because I'm working and this was the only time I could stop in. He then shook his head and closed the door. Hs whole demeanour was confrontational & hostile. It was as if he was angry someone had turned up.
Admittedly, I hadn't checked the opening times as I usually pop in at lunch. It turns out, according to their Facebook page, they changed yesterday.
I've since checked reviews on Google & Trust Pilot and can see that I'm not the first person to have found their tone openly hostile. It was honestly bizarre; like I had offended him by being there.
It's a shame as I advocate for supporting independent game stores but now, if any of my gaming pals ask for recommendations in Edinburgh, I'll be steering them away from Mox in the Hole.

It was myself that you spoke to I can only apologise if there was a misunderstanding in what was said.
Yes unfortunately we have have had to change opening times from this week. I asked if you were just here to pickup an order as that was something we would be able to help with it was ready.
Unfortunately we weren't in a position to take sales at that time in the day which is why I said I was unable to serve you at that time and wouldn't be able to until we opened at 3pm.
I can only apologise if you felt my tone in trying to explain that we weren't open at that time hostile.

Friendly and helpful, if not a little chaotic
I've only recently moved back to the area, and after the old store I frequented shut down - I needed a new LGS.
I've popped in twice now, and both times the guys have been super friendly and helpful, as I had trouble finding what I was looking for (the store feels a bit chaotic).
I have my first pre-release in the coming week, and I'm honestly super excited to get back in the saddle and have a regular LGS again.
