Disgusting Service
Before I start, I am a fully qualified Precision Engineer and a time served Mechanic. I took my Chainsaw to Mowers UK for repair as I was very busy rebuilding a motorbike. The Chainsaw would start but not rev up properly. I told Mower UK the fault and diagnosed the problem as a faulty diaphragm or blocked filter in the Carb. They charged me £25 for telling them what the fault was. Two week later I was phoned saying they were unable to repair it but diagnosed that it needed a new Cylinder and Piston. When I got the Chainsaw home I stripped it down. It was blatantly clear that it hadn’t been worked on; unless they are very good at re-aligning security marks which I had put on the screw heads. It would be impossible to assess the condition of the cylinder and piston without stripping everything down. If they didn’t want to do the job; just tell me but don’t keep the chainsaw for two weeks and not even touch it and feed me a pack of lies. In the meantime I have stripped and cleaned the Carb at a cost of £6.50 and it’s running beautifully. Last time I ever cast a shadow over their doorstep.
