Website didn't work. Document verification was unnecessarily difficult.
Buyer tried to haggle the price down on collection.

Was offered more than 14,000 to begin with. Went down to a guide price or an estimated price of 13,100 after including all images and details regarding the car . Though it was very low I went ahead with it. After auction however the highest offer was 11,500. Huge difference from initial valuation, a lot lower than other sites. Also the app had many issues.

This was a very straightforward process. I got the estimated money for the car from the Motorway auction (in fact a small amount more) which I was happy with. My car was in very good condition which helped the process but still, it worked well.

The staff were very friendly, professional and helpful.

I thought the service was excellent from Motorway. Contacting by phone was easy when k wanted advice what to do about retaining my private plate and the issue with waiting for the new V5C form. Collection was straight forward - car was as described so given the agreed price no haggling or reduced offer. Payment came through really quickly before I handed over the V5C. I would recommend them 100%.

Website is a bit confusing, keeps taking you back to the profile page saying it's not complete even if it was?! Sold my car though!

Very easy to follow instructions , car was sold within 1 day for a good price and was collected with no hassles 2 days later. Price achieved was £1k higher than one provider and £2k higher than another. Well worth the fee!

This is great service overall , I recommend MWay, but my experience was not without issue.

Good bits first; this is so easy for busy people, no lengthy wondering ‘will they, won’t they’ buy like selling privately. I was kept well informed at every step of the process, and there’s no pressure to sell if you’re not happy with the highest bid. I sold my car, got instant payment in collection, great service.

Now the not so good; on my advert I was scrupulously honest about a tiny chip in the paint (1mm) in the door well, a a light faint scratch in the other door well, around 1cm long. Not visible with doors closed, other than that, the car was absolutely immaculate. The valuation given against the advert which had this information was around £700 higher than after a conversation with MWay pre-auction providing exactly the same information. This valuation provides a guide for the buyers so unlikely you will receive much more than that. On collection, the buyer said I’d been far too honest and could’ve covered it with a marker pen, it was inconsequential.

A major shock during the sale was an automatic email from MWay with a payment link, telling me to pay £12,000 immediately as I had a deficit in my car finance. I knew this was not the case, I had a settlement quotation that I had uploaded to MWays secure portal several times, and had downloaded settlement quotes over the course of a few months from my finance company so was very well aware that there was money owed to me not the other way around. Despite this, this bill was an awful shock, it landed in the evening so had the stress all night until I could contact them the next day. If the amount requested hadn’t been so ridiculous, and a person knew they owed money then this approach could have resulted in a person overpaying. Check everything carefully before you pay. I can only assume AI read a document incorrectly.

Don’t be put off, just don’t be rushed, and check everything carefully.

I was a bit sceptical but was pleasantly surprised by the service. The collection driver was very thorough and picked up the tiniest marks, but I’d already included them in my submission so his report matched mine. The price didn’t change. Payment was very quick and the driver was polite and helpful. Motorway kept me informed throughout.

Simply and straightforward way to sell car. Bit disappointed with sale figure achieved but guess shows market demands. Would use again.
