Worked really well, except initial valuation overrated but still achieved a good price. Uploading photos took some while to get precise but collection by dealer went well and everything done in 3 days... See more

Chaos front start to finish, avoid
Chaos front start to finish.
Could not recommend this service to anyone. This could be a great service, but the dealers make this more hassle than it’s worth. They bid higher, then turn up and try and knock as much as they can from that price, for tiny stone chips, tread on tyres less than 4mm (above the legal limit) on the tyres, the list goes on.
Motorway themselves were useless. Gave my details to the dealer before the documents were validated and they hounded me daily from the moment it sold, to pick it up, even though motorway were still process the paperwork… when they turned up it was verging on threading manner in the way they tried to forcefully push down the price by thousands for no reason. I got a higher quote in the end from the Land Rover main dealer. Makes a mockery of what this supposed to be for.
Used we by any car in the past too, they may give a lower quote than what motorway cons you with, but after the hard knockdowns on your doorstep, where they try to knock off thousands. You get more for your money and a hell of a lot less hassle.
The dealer even turned up before motorway had issued their sales QR (by 5 days early).
I felt this was a poor service by motorway start to finish, little intervention and when I called them for advice on this chaos, was put through to a person who just repeatedly kept saying “upload documents” with little other English speaking capability.
If you take this service be prepared to be put through many games from the buyers. I have since been told by others that heard my story, they had something very similar, in respect to getting an aggressive buyer, try and take the micky with the price they then forcefully “renegotiate” at your house.
Avoid, save yourself the time and pain.

False promises and lies!
Listed my car and got offered more than the original estimate, only to end up in an uncomfortable negotiation on my driveway when they came to collect the car and ended up receiving £432 less than I was initially offered. Then just to top it all off they insisted I still had to pay £79.99 service fee!!! Tried to speak to motorway about this and they just said it was between me and the dealership. No offer to help at all. No idea what service I was paying £79.99 for. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

My experience with Motorway was…
My experience with Motorway was extremely disappointing, and I would not recommend them if you're looking for a quick and straightforward sale.
Before listing my van, I downloaded the app and spent a considerable amount of time uploading detailed information, including numerous photos, scratches, and every defect I could find. Despite this, their initial valuation was already around £1,500–£2,000 below the actual market value.
I accepted this lower valuation because I needed to sell the van quickly. It was my own company vehicle, and since I now have another company car join recuntly, I was continuing to pay insurance, finance, and other running costs for a vehicle I no longer used. I expected the process to be completed within a couple of weeks.
After my van was listed on auction with Motorway and they offered the price, I accepted an offer from a dealer. From that point onwards, the experience became extremely frustrating. I had to chase both the dealer and Motorway multiple times, around 12 phone calls in total, to arrange the inspection. The dealer eventually came to inspect the van almost five weeks later.
During the inspection, the dealer began pointing out extremely minor cosmetic marks that were almost impossible to notice, despite me having honestly disclosed the vehicle's condition from the start. They then attempted to reduce the agreed price by £1,200, which was completely unreasonable.
I contacted Motorway's customer service to explain that this was unacceptable. After keeping me waiting for nearly five weeks, I had incurred around £500 in additional costs through insurance, finance, and other expenses. I expected any negotiation after inspection to be for genuine issues, not an attempt to dramatically reduce the agreed price.
Motorway advised me to cancel the sale and relist the vehicle. Unfortunately, because another five weeks had passed, the market value had dropped. I estimate this cost me around £500 in additional ownership costs, plus approximately £600 due to depreciation and the lower second auction price.
I accepted a second offer from another dealer, but exactly the same pattern happened again. I had to chase the dealer repeatedly just to arrange collection. At that point, I lost confidence in the process and cancelled the sale.
Instead, I booked an appointment with We Buy Any Car. They inspected the vehicle the same day, agreed on a price immediately, completed the paperwork, and the payment arrived within four working days. The process was straightforward, professional, and exactly what I had expected from the beginning.
In my opinion, the biggest issue with Motorway is not the valuation—it's the lack of control over the dealers using the platform. Agreeing on a price at auction seems to mean very little if dealers can delay the process for weeks and then attempt to renegotiate by large amounts over insignificant cosmetic marks.
Unfortunately, my experience was stressful, time-consuming, and expensive.

Motorway review
My experience with Motorway was excellent. The system was easy to follow. However despite providing all the service information on my car the purchaser lived up to their reputation by lowering their bid on my car. It wasn’t until I told him to leave that he backed down a bit. Eventually I reluctantly accepted a lower price.
