Please heed this WARNING against using this company. It is run by "William Owen"... who claims to have a "back office" with several staff but it's clear it is just him but he uses "the office" as a ploy when he wants to avoid questions or complaints he doesn't like and keeps telling you to email "the office" from whom there is of course never any response and obviously there is no phone number.
Our experience with him was appalling from start to finish and perhaps if you are a looking for a van for stag do, then Bikers Motorhome would be suitable but other that than please avoid this joke of a company.
Firstly, the pick up address he gives you is a car park of a burnt out pub. He does this so you don't know where he lives and can't come after him. The van he provided to us had smashed back windows with black bin bags and gaffer tape over them and they didn't open, the fridge didn't work and our whole food shop had to be thrown out, the toilet leaked and literally the whole van literally smelled like a sewer, the interior walls were stained, chipped and filthy, the plug sockets didn't work and the back area locks didn't work properly.
We had pre booked a kitchen pack, a bedding pack and camp table & chairs. When we got there he simply shrugged said "he had no table and chairs left" and he only gave us bedding for the double bed, none at all for the bunk beds. He was completely indifferent to the fact that we had booked these extra items nearly 6 months previously. The first thing we had to do was go to Argos to buy the essential items we had already pre booked and paid for!! We literally had to buy duvets, sheets, pillows etc for our children's beds... as well as a camp table and stools to sit at and we ended up spending over £150!! None of which we claimed back from him even though we should have. The kitchen pack he provided was the most measly and basic we have ever seen and everything was filthy. The bedding he did give us (for the double bed) was disgusting and smelled so we ended up buying a new duvet cover and pillow cases. He doesn't reply to text messages for days and is extremely unpleasant to deal with. He clearly could not give a damn about his obligations to his paying customers.
He then tried to falsely charge us for a "lost tv remote control" which was completely fabricated as we did not ask for the TV (which had we tried, would have been inoperable anyway as the pug sockets didn't work) and never touched or used the one that was there and certainly never saw or used any remote control. He also charged us for a mattress protector which we inadvertently removed when we stripped the linen we had bought off the beds - pretty galling when you consider it cost us £150 to buy the sheets we had already pre-ordered from him.
After finally releasing our deposit 2 weeks after we returned the van he then STOLE £56 from our bank account without our authorisation. When queried on this he emailed us saying it was for "booking and international transaction fees (+4%) as well as the insurance cost, commission and card or website fees, are non-refundable in any case, even if cancelling immediately after booking". We are currently considering cancelling our debit card in case he tries to do this again.
This guy is a LIAR and is not to be trusted. His vans are falling apart, his customer service is appalling and from reading other reviews it is clear we are not the only people to have this experience which completely wrecked our weeks holiday with our children which we were all so looking forward to. . Please heed this warning and AVOID!!!

Hired from the Kelty branch. Maria & her team were very helpful. Now had both deposits back with no issues. Smooth transaction all round. We would hire from them again.

Apalling. If you like to be made to pick every individual blade of grass out of your campervan before you get your deposit back then these are the people for you. They attempted to withold some of the deposit because the wheel arch had some grass in it and stood over me while I cleaned it out.
What a way to see the West of Scotland
What a way to see the West of Scotland, travelled up to Skye along the coast meeting up with family on the way. The camper was and lived up to all we had hoped for as first time hirers. The colours and light of late September were incredible still having enough warmth to sit out in the evenings.

Hard getting deposit back, avoid.
Good things and bad things about Vaaroom - the good thing was it was nice to be able to pick up a campervan at short notice and also be able to take our two small dogs (for an additional fee). Cleanliness wise, the van was nice and clean. We did have a couple of alarming problems with our van, the main one was that it cut out on a number of occasions and then the clutch jammed/ stopped working several times which was quite scary when we were driving down a steep hill with oncoming traffic. The door to the bathroom/ shower room also just fell off soon after we picked the van up, and nearly squashed one of our small dogs while we were driving. But the biggest problem has been trying to get our £1,250 deposit back. Their terms and conditions say they'll give this back within 28 WORKING days (note this is well over a month as it's 28 working days rather than 28 days). It has been over 31 working days now, and despite repeatedly chasing them we still are owed £1,250. We have now got in trouble with our credit card company over this. I wouldn't used Vaaroom again. Actually I'm just now reading the many many 1 star reviews and I am concerned we have been scammed, many people seem to not be able to get deposits back from Vaaroom. We have just raised it with our credit card company and they are investigating. I will need to down-grade to 1 star if it transpires we are being scammed!

We used this company last year, resulting in the same problems, made a claim through small claims court, shortly after they paid us back. Shouldn’t have to go to these lengths but it did work.

We hired a motorhome from Vaaroom in August 2020. Prior to collection we paid for the insurance excess waiver (which you would assume would mean that any potential damage and any excess would be covered). We also paid the £250 security deposit (which we were told was to cover any incidental charges such as parking fines and any damage to items within the vehicle i.e. any equipment provided with the vehicle). After returning the vehicle I received an e-mail with photos of the motorhome after return. This e-mail stated "If you have had an accident/damage you can view the photos below" There was no photo attached with any potential damage that wasn't present prior to collection. Upon trying to get the £250 security deposit back, Vaaroom will claim that they need to wait 28 days before returning the funds. Now that 28 days have passed, Vaaroom have sent me a new photo of 'potential'damage that was not included on the e-mail sent to me after returning the vehicle! They are refusing to give back my security deposit (which was not even supposed to be for 'damage to the vehicle') and they are trying to extort further funds from me to make up the difference for the repair! Bear in mind that we also paid for the Insurance Excess Waiver!
Regardless of when the damage occured, you would assume that this would be covered by the insurance and any "excess" covered the "Insurance Excess Waiver". You would also assume that the £250 security deposit was for any incidental charges and/or any missing items. There were no incidental charges, parking fines or missing items. Vaaroom have no legal basis to not return the £250 security deposit, but will try their luck regardless!! We have evidence of the state of the vehicle prior to collection and it was not only filthy inside, but the bumper was completely hanging off. The depot workers were applying duck tape to the bumper in the hope that it remained attached for the 7 days that we would be using the vehicle! The company is under new management and although they claim to be distancing themselves from the previously poor reputation, the level of exortion they are still applying with no evidence to back up the claims is absolutely abhorrent. USE ANOTHER COMPANY.
We have recently returned from a great…
We have recently returned from a great holiday in one of their motorhomes. Apart from early communication issues (hence only 4 stars) the whole experience was brilliant. The motorhome was exactly as ordered, the handover and return processes at Heathrow was easy and the guy very helpful. He was very pleasant, helped with our luggage, and showed us around the motorhome thoroughly so we were confident to take it away. The motorhome even had plenty of fuel so we didn't need to refuel immediately. We did take their IEW which was expensive (3 X an on-line quote) but this only increased the price to equivalent other hire companies without IEW.

Do not use vaaroom motorhome hire or National motorhome hire..
This company seem to operate under a few different names... there websites when you look into them are very similar, the Way you get a quote is the same the pictures used are the same, the company trading number is the same. We booked using Vaaroom Motorhome hire and at first all seemed fine.
We paid our deposit and received a confirmation email from the lovely sales lady. Then things started to feel a little strange. We never received Follow call or details from the customer service To team or an invoice setting out the booking. When I tried to contact the company many phone numbers From the website did not work... all the depo numbers did not work and the only number which did was the number I had booked on and the only person who answered the call or if you left a message returned the call was the same sales lady!
Many things seemed a miss, so we started to check the website and that’s when we found 3 more companies operating with the similar websites all with the same lady Sharon taking the Phone calls.
We explained to Sharon our booking seemed like a scam. She was very nice again and reassured us they where just very busy... and she explained they had take off some websites so not all the numbers worked. following the call we have received an email from an Customer services admin, Amy. She said our booking was being dealt with and she would be in touch soon to process it... she never got back in touch until we contacted worried we would not have a Motorhome with only 2 weeks to go to our holiday date!
We contacted the customer services team by email and never received anything. With one week to go to our holiday and no further details, the deposit from my bank account taken our to ‘kopto clearance’ we booked with another company. We contacted customer services to ask for a refund and this time they replied with no specific name just customer services and telling us they will not refund.. our bank is now dealing with this.
Recommend NOT to use this (these) companies.
