Misspent Summers is a cycling media company and store producing and selling books, photo prints and merchandise from the world of mountain biking and two-wheeled good times. The company is UK-based but has a worldwide pool of contributors, staff and followers. >>We love love love bikes and we are passionate about our products. We try our best to make everything to the highest standards using humans, small producers and responsible manufacturing while being as transparent as possible. >>After making our first downhill yearbook (Hurly Burly) in 2016, we went on to make an enduro yearbook (The World Stage) the following year, as well as several other projects including Eskapee Anthology, Downtime EP and Spent (about everything we think makes mountain biking great). We now sell our books, magazines, zines, clothing and merchandise worldwide and enjoy our relationship with a core group of fans and supporters who help us keep creating cycling media and products. >>Our newsletters are circulated for free and include news, views, opinions and rumours from the world of mountain biking. While we are massive fans of high-level racing and our yearbooks are the core of our business, we care about promoting mountain biking and cycling as fun, not too serious, a friendly community and adventurous – that's why we make Spent and why you'll find lots of fun (we think) stuff on our social media channels and in our free-to-view YouTube films like Tea & Biscuits and Cosmic. >>Anyway! Enough rambling. Every review, good or not so good, helps us understand and improve what we do so thank you in advance for taking the time to leave a note. >>To hear from Ben and James, the founders and chief distractionists, listen to their recent Downtime Podcast episode here: https://youtu.be/cZpRk-AHMDg

I bought the latest Downtime EP book and it was great. Everything was excellent from the ordering and delivery service to the quality of the book and the content. Thanks & well done!

My first Misspent Summers book was Hurly Burly from the 2016 Downhill season. I was following mountainbike media channels for about 5 years, but the way MS did it was fresh, different, they took their time. And it's worth it. With all the fast flodder of info that rolls down our screens, I find it quite peaceful to read in a book about one of the most radical sports there is.

Although Misspent Summers tries to convince their readers, fans, and fellow mountain bikers they're not perfect, as a media company that's covering the sharp end of mountain biking in engaging and interesting ways, everyone agrees they do an incredible job. They've got great merch, too!

Great people, great sport, great company and great products! I am collecting all Hurley Burley DH yearbooks and every edition is getting better and better. Shipments to Germany are working somehow well, but this more a Brexit thing. Don't worry, all shipments arrived on time. Very important for Hurley Burley as it is my xmas treat 🎄

Great content and articles packed into a beautifully produced, high quality magazine (well, it's more of a book really!).
The writing, graphic design and photography all go towards to making it a real treat when it arrives on my doormat!

I've purchased several of their books and they feature great stories and beautiful pictures. Misspent Summers also has excellent customer service and fast shipping which, being in the US, is great.

Misspent Summers have the magic touch. Everything they do just screams mountain biking. Capturing the essence of MTB though the mediums they use in a way that makes you love it more.

Modern media mechanisms are all about speed and quantity. MS choose a more patient approach. Pause, absorb, reflect, then publish because maybe this is what great content requires for a deeper experience. Keep up the great work team.

The visual quality and the depth of the coverage is the best in business. Looking forward to everything they do. Honestly, the only mailinglist content I look forward to ...

In an age where there is so much emphasis on having the newest and shiniest things, misspent summers provide a breath of fresh air and a reminder of the core of what makes up this beautiful sport; the people, racing, and the culture. Their books and magazines are truly works of art.

When a printed magazine, arriving months after the event, is more immersive, more captivating and more real than watching the event live on tv, you know the writers and photographers are doing something right. Incredible passion flows from everything James and his team do. You can read an article or a random mtb publication and know instantly that somewhere along the line Misspent summers are involved. The story of mtb runs deep. Keep doing what you’re doing guys. It’s amazing.

I find it difficult to describe what is so great about Misspent Summers, there is so much variety to what they do. From inside information on the world cup downhill and enduro racing, sent as it’s happening. It’s the only mailing list I subscribe to where i am always left wanting more content. To Wonderfully produced year books containing all the stories of the years racing and amazing photographs. Plus unique and quality merch that is more than just t-shirts and caps. Best of all if anything ever goes wrong (like your order getting lost in the mail) the founders respond to your emails and bend over backwards to make it right.

You can just tell that all the folk behind Misspent Summers do what they do because they love mountain biking, plain and simple. It seems that whatever they touch results in condensed passion, without even the faintest whiff of a bean counter or marketing BS. If only the world had more Misspent Summers.

The hype is high for the people of misspent summers. The quality of the written pieces, the outstanding pictures and of course having that vision to pull it all together to make some amazing products. First class with this company! It wouldn't be mtb without them. Mon the tea & biscuits and highly recommended the downtime collection.

After seeing the decay of our fave mag Dirt we had no other publication out there that understood the counter culture / rebellious side of riding & racing mountain bikes.
Until Misspent Summers came through with the goods, and my god have they delivered! Beautifully designed layouts & photography from arguably the best in the field, who are in the mix & give us a true glimpse from within the race tape.
We could just sit with a brew & peruse the images that capture ya imagination to want to get the hell out & ride that very second but then if ya take a minute to read the articles ya can see the dedication the whole crüe put into each & every book / zine that they release.
Truly amazing work, thats worthy of any coffee table.

Great people making great things. Well worth your time and support! They in turn help support some of the best photographers, designers, writers, filmers, riders and more in the mountain bike scene.
