After a month's trial some good and bad news…

After a month's trial with my new Minirig 3, I can say the sound quality is great, the design, the size and the packaging is reeeally good BUT I feel upset because there is something wrong with it... It might be the Bluetooth system connection or the power saving feature but it cuts in the music while playing all the time at certain moments...! and even on low volume it keeps doing it...!! What can I do?? :(

Minirig3 dead zero customer service

Update minirig eventually got in touch I sent my speaker for repair on the 11th may. No news. It's the 1st June today.

Minirig3 is useless after a few months - not able to charge properly now nothing. Zero response from mini rig even though I have been a customer from when minirig started out . I do not recommend mini rig 3 nor their company as there is zero customer service. Happy to reconsider my review if they ever get back in touch. Gutted and without speaker during these Draconian times.

Great Sound Classic Design

Purchased 2MR3 and Subwoofer a year ago, truly excellent balanced sound and the latter does make a real difference if you can stretch to the extra cost. The (many) teanage tech-heads in the family demand the same, so we have now bought 3 more...made in Bristol too...

Needed a new Bluetooth speaker.

Had a TDK bluetooth speaker for some time and it was showing it's age! Took the plunge and bought a Minirig 3, WOW. All that they say in their advertising (which is quite minimal) is true: Packaging is able to be recycled; all that is needed to get listening straight away is there (no need to charge the battery!) and the sound quality is absolutely stunning. May well be back for another to get stereo. At the moment I can't see that there is much call for a sub-woofer as the bass response for the Minirig 3 is excellent. Great purchase and if your looking for a very portable speaker, look no further buy one.

Repair service expensive and long

Amazing little speaker, but randomly stopped working one month out of warranty. Had to pay £8 recorded and signed delivery to send it to repair. They won't tell you how much the repair will be until they are done with it. There's no way of repairing it yourself. I had to chase them up for details as I could see that they had received it but heard nothing from them. They then whacked a £40 repair price on top and wouldn't tell me what was wrong with my speaker. They eventually did tell me after many long emails. That's a really bad and not customer friendly policy when we are asked to pay such a high price. They then ask for another £4 delivery fee ontop when you pay to have it delivered. I've spent so much extra money on this speaker which was originally £80/£90, I may as well have gone to another brand and bought it in store with free extra warranty.

*UPDATE* after being away from home for a few months, i could finally pick up my speaker. Was returned to me with a free carry case which was a nice gesture, however there's a small bump on the underside rubber ring which I guess is where they enter to repair it. However, it seems to work again. updated rating to two star but huge room for improvement.

Minirig3 is a fantastic portable speaker

Minirig3 speaker came when expected with good natural packing. Really pleased with quality of build and the sound is really clear and can get very loud if you need it too. Love the solid feel but still small enough to carry in your hand. Nice tactile Matt finish which looks really smart in black. So far I have found the app to work well where you can change things with an equaliser and adjust other settings.

Poor customer service & deceptive advertising

A discount card comes with an order that offers 10% off next PURCHASE. Actually they mean the discount is off one more ITEM, not any next PURCHASE.

Excellent speaker

Excellent speaker! My sons recommended this brand so treated myself and very happy. I will add to the one speaker I have now as and when I can afford, but still a lovely sound with just the one.

gone downhill...

I have owned 3 minirigs over the past decade. All of which have broken. The original minirig was best quality. Quality of build and sound decreased in later models. Repairs are now excessively exspensive.
There are high quality Bluetooth speakers selling brand new from other manufacturer's cheaper than you can repair a minirig!

Outstanding!

Some friends have had minirigs for a while so I knew they were good. Treated myself to a minirig3 and am so glad I did! Worth every single penny. Such great sound quality! It's genuinely improved my quality of life! Thank you minirig.

What an amazing speaker but......

What an amazing speaker, very loud and battery lasts for ages but it has a major flaw. This speaker is only good at moderate to high volumes. At low volumes the power saving feature cuts in and keeps turning speaker off. I have changed the cables around so I'm using the low gain output no difference. Ive tried rectifying through customer services and they were of no help. I really expected more from them as these are not cheap but sadly they were just tellling me to do the things I'd already tried myself like resetting etc. Big shame as it is an awesome speaker
