Hire a different cleaning company

We hired Merry Maids to do a move out clean for us. I am not sure exactly what they did, other than clean out the inside of our refrigerator (and they missed a lot on that). I had to spend several hours cleaning after they left. There were cobwebs on the walls still. I don't think that they cleaned any of the walls. They did not wipe out any of the cabinets or drawers. They did not attempt to clean out the oven. I don't know what exactly they want me to pay them for.

Don’t waste your time

Don’t waste your time. Overcharged cleaning staff on the phone the entire time and floors not cleaned. We had clean after they left.

Mr Rolfe - Merry Maids of Kingston

I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to formally express my deep concerns and dissatisfaction with my recent employment experience under Mr. Rolfe's management.

During my brief tenure of 10 days, I observed several issues that raised serious doubts about the professionalism and ethical standards within the company. These concerns primarily revolve around the laxity in document verification processes, including right-to-work checks and passport scrutiny, which are crucial for compliance with UK laws and policies.

Moreover, the lack of emphasis on health and safety measures, particularly in the absence of proper first aid procedures, creates an environment where employees might find themselves at risk in case of emergencies. This negligence is alarming and should be addressed promptly.

The high turnover rate among employees, a matter corroborated by colleagues, further points to systemic issues that adversely affect the work culture and stability within the organization.

Additionally, the unprofessional response to negative reviews on public platforms, as evidenced by Mr. Rolfe's reaction to a client's feedback, is concerning. A dismissive attitude towards customer reviews reflects poorly on the company's commitment to customer satisfaction and professionalism.

A company's success is not solely measured by positive reviews but by its commitment to ensuring a safe, fair, and respectful working environment for all employees.

During my tenure, I encountered inappropriate behavior that included written threats and a general lack of professionalism. This conduct is not only distressing but also creates an unhealthy work environment that goes against the principles of fair treatment and respect for employees.

I believe that fostering a workplace culture that values each individual, regardless of their background, is essential for the success of any organization. Threatening behavior not only undermines the well-being of employees but also reflects poorly on the company's reputation.

During my tenure, I experienced an unsettling lack of safety measures and an overall hostile atmosphere. This has led me to believe that the workplace culture is not conducive to the well-being and professional growth of its employees.

I felt compelled to express these concerns, as it is my firm belief that every individual has the right to work in an environment free from neglect, bullying, and threats. The disregard for these principles not only affects the mental and emotional well-being of employees but also raises serious questions about the ethical standards within the organization.

During my time with the company, I encountered challenges that led me to voice my feedback. I believe that open communication is essential for continuous improvement in any workplace. However, I anticipate that my comments might provoke a reaction similar to threatening to report me on Google Review.

I strongly encourage a more adult and professional approach to feedback and concerns. Open dialogue, understanding, and a commitment to addressing issues constructively can contribute significantly to a healthier work environment

Excellent service provider

I have been very impressed with the cleaning of my home by merry maids. My cleaner Omaria has a very attentive attitude towards any areas Of concern I have. .Omaria proceeds methodically through the house quickly transforming the messes. I am totally pleased and very satisfied with the cleaning and organizing that she does. Please continue the professional and very outstanding work. Thank you.

Think twice and then think again…

While living abroad I contracted merry maids to perform a “move out” clean of a property in Ottawa with a view to list it for sale. The premises remained locked for three weeks following merry maids visit with no one entering. The first estate agent to visit the house hereafter had the following to say “ "Woah! .... I’d suggest your seller have it cleaned thoroughly. It’s disgusting" A rather disappointing result to say the least after a “clean” that was charged at more than $600. Needless to say this was the first and last time ever that I will approach this company.

Poor and expensive job

Quoted nearly £500 for a 3 bed flat with balcony and promised a thorough 'start of lease' clean. Charged more due to balcony and the large number of venetian blinds which seemed reasonable. Overall very poor job. Balcony left unswept in areas, kitchen cupboards left greasy, residue in all the balcony door sills, left dirty smears from all the skirting boards and chrome polish from the light switches over the walls etc etc. Even suggested that the blinds were too delicate to do a decent job - but didn't reduce the quote. Had to get in another company to finish the job properly. Only thorough job they did was to chase for their money.

Robber company

Was quoted price for cleaning a studio apartment. Arrived late. Decent job. Price for cleaning came to $115. more than quote. Actual deduction was $145. more. Would never use them again.

HORRIBLE service!!

HORRIBLE service!!! Houston, TX. The ONLY good thing I can say is that they arrived on time. Physically limited so I Paid for a deep cleaning, didn’t receive a deep or basic cleaning. Every area I pointed out they didn’t do the standard response was “we don’t have the equipment.” After I insisted they try, she took a rag and wiped scum off with ease. Then she said. “They weren’t there for a deep cleaning, which is what I paid for. I had to clean after they left because they did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING but clean a mirror, wipe the window seals and broke a chrome figurine and failed to inform me it was broke because they positioned it in a way it couldn’t be noticed. I discovered it was broken a week later. I added a couple of pictures below of one of the bathrooms. They ran the vacuum but I even had to do that myself. I asked them to leave. If I could give it a negative star I would!!!!! Absolutely horrible service!!!!!!!!!!!

We are new customers of Merry Maids

We are new customers of Merry maids and are pleased we have found them.
Charlotte has visited 3 times now and we are very pleased with her. She works extremely hard and to a high standard, and always comes in with a smile.

We have a vacation home in the UK

We have a vacation home in the UK and from time to time use Merry Maids services - can't find anything to complain about to be honest. They are doing a decent service and the workers are very professional. Can definitely recommend.

Terrible Service charged £150 for 2 bedroom flata first clean but…

Was charged £150 for a first clean but felt that is was terrible price for what was actually done. There motto is that you don't pay per hour you pay for quality. They rushed the job and it shows. Phoned to complain and nothing done, still paid full price.
Dusty everywhere and left very dirty items on clean surface.

Worst company I’ve ever used!

I wrongly assumed this company ran a professional service. Couldn’t have been further from the truth.
First visit was supposed to be a full house clean at £360. 3 cleaners did 1.5 hours each! Total joke! I had left dusting etc for a week or so as I wanted to judge the comprehensive package they offered. I could write my name in the dust! My floors were all smeared…I could go on and on and they broke an ornament!
They promised better the following week. 2 cleaners for 2 hours each. It was a better job but I was at home so not sure if that influenced anything.
After the 3rd visit of 2 cleaners there for less than an hour I’d had enough. Terrible!
I have cctv which they knew about so they mustn’t have a clue really.

I would never hire marry maids ever…

I would never hire marry maids ever again. I called and scheduled a deep clean not a wipe down not a fluff up a deep clean. The reason why I called them since I have two rental companies and I have three airbnbs the person that works for me is retiring and I need to find someone else. I made an appointment there supposed to be here between 8:30 and 9:00 they didn't show up to well after 11:30. I showed the four rooms to the two women that showed up said in priority these are the rooms that I need clean first and you can work your way to the other rooms but this is what I need done first. He didn't listen to me they started where they wanted they're supposed to be here for 2 hours they spent so much time lollygagging that I had to pay for an extra 2 hours so they are here for a total of four. One girl even left in between for around 15 to 20 minutes God knows where she really went but I had to pay for that she didn't work I had to pay for that time they did not wipe down any of the doors they did not wipe down any of the baseboard there are areas that were not cleaned at all it was not a deep clean at all it was a wipe down which I did not ask where I asked for a deep clean when I called to spoke to the person at the office there are very rude and unprofessional and just wanted to argue they say that they guarantee their work she wanted to come out an at the end of the month when the next appointment was scheduled my wife finally got tired of arguing with the woman about the work and what they're guarantee was cuz we were not satisfied I took photos it's your proof of stuff that wasn't cleaned she then told us that they took photos or whatever reason and refuse to guarantee their work so we canceled our other appointment I've asked to speak to the franchise owner multiple times I have not been contacted I've had no one talk to me. This is just the company I would never hire again not only being unprofessional doing a half ass job one girl worked the other girl just kept walking around and there was stuff that I was told that couldn't be cleaned because the Swiffer they use wasn't doing it I said you need a mop after they had left I had taken a mop and a bucket of water and everything had come right up they didn't clean the ceiling fan and the dust off the ceiling fans the doors weren't clean parts of the cabinets weren't cleaned and this is not a deep clean please be wary when hiring this company
