The information has been insightful, informative, and helpful. I would recommend Mate’s HEAL program and VanDerKolk’s program. I have also enjoyed a number of coaching seminars. Thanks.

I, too, signed up for MentorShow after seeing the offer last year for Gabor Maté's course. The course itself was wonderful, and I enjoyed using the platform over the past year.
Unfortunately, I was unaware of the automatic renewal, and within minutes of receiving the notification that the money had been taken out of my bank account, I contacted customer support and requested a refund.
Despite honestly and openly expressing my regret to have to be in a position to request a refund, due to me enjoying the courses offered but, more pressingly, having had my hours reduced at work and genuinely not being able to afford to continue, I was told "Unfortunately, any cancellation request received after the renewal of the current subscription can only be applied to the next billing cycle [...] If you’d like to avoid this kind of situation next year, you can cancel your subscription directly from your personal account."
Not only did this feel like a canned response, but also a bit cold, adding unnecessary "If you'd like to avoid this kind of situation next year [...]".
It was my impression that, given that they HIGHLY publicized the "money back guarantee within 14 days after subscription" tagline on their socials, website, etc., this refund policy would, therefore, apply to a subscription (even a renewal).
Upon reading the fine print (which, of course, you should always do), I realized this was NOT the case, and I am now in a dire position with zero desire to even utilize the program if I am not able to receive a refund.
This is an absolute and complete shame, having not just hooked new users into an unforgivable agreement after WIDELY publicizing the "14-day back money guarantee", it is unacceptable that their answer be, literally, within minutes of being notified of the charge, that there is nothing to be done.
Companies are obligated to obtain clear and affirmative consent prior to auto-renewal terms BEFORE charging your card, and almost all companies now (at least in the UK and EU) offer "cooling-off" periods that allow a customer to cancel or receive a full or partial refund, even after an AUTOMATIC renewal.
Furthermore, I did not receive any renewal reminder email, which is more or less common courtesy nowadays, if not a general requirement.
In fact, in France (where the company is registered), the Chatel law requires that ANY automatic renewals be notified one to three months before a subscription renews.
When I brought the fact that I had not received an email reminder to the MentorShow team, I was sent a "screenshot" of only a line that said 'email sent to contact - operation successful - 8 april 2026 18:00 CEST" (in French).
My email address is not visible in this screenshot, nor is the email content, so I cannot verify that this is even an email sent to me. I have written back and asked for further proof that the email had been sent by forwarding me the original email.
Absolutely stunned by their response, not only because this goes beyond the general courtesy of almost every company in 2026, but also because the company promotes itself on wellness & mental health curriculum, which, frankly, doesn't align well with a cold-canned response to someone struggling financially, who reaches out immediately upon an unexpected charge, and is told "better luck next time".

RIP OFF – Avoid This Company
I almost never leave negative reviews, but this experience crossed the line.
I was charged nearly $600 USD for an automatic subscription renewal that was not clearly visible or communicated to me. By the time I discovered the charge, customer support told me I had missed the cancellation deadline by just 6 days — and therefore they would keep the entire amount.
I immediately explained that this is a huge amount of money for me and that I never intended to continue the membership. The response from Patricia was essentially: “too late, nothing we can do.”
Let’s be honest: they absolutely could refund it if they wanted to. This is not a technical impossibility, it’s a DECISION. A company that truly cared about students and education would show at least some flexibility or basic human understanding in situations like this.
Instead, they hide behind policy while taking hundreds of dollars from people who may not even realize they are enrolled in recurring payments until it’s too late.
Extremely disappointing experience!

The MentorShow has clearly put in the work to offer a very comprehensive program for personal growth as well as a compass heading for professionals in this space.
The program contains a broad scope of topics and will address the many complexities and challenges of being human.
Nothing is perfect and I did run into some navigation problems. Their response came within 24 hours and was caring, clear and helpful.
If you're in doubt I would encourage you to take the risk, it will be worth while.

MentorShow is incredibly misleading. When you think you are signing up for a particular class you are actually signing up for a yearly subscription. I was charged $500 for an automatic renewal. I immediately reached out. They advised to cancel my subscription. I did and then I was told they will not refund any money. Please beware what you are signing up for. Horrible customer service.

My experience of the courses (I took the Gabor Mate Trauma masterclass), was positive. Unfortunately there was an issue alot of other people experienced where there was very little transparency that myself (and others), were given the impression that we were paying a one off fee for the course, but it turned out to be an automatic annual subscription. Meaning one year later we recieved an unexpected fee of $598. Now I have recieved a full refund and apology, and appreciate that matter closed for myself. Hopefully now they are very clear on the issue they will make changes so that this does not happen to other people. Unfortunately the customer services were all automated and I had to come to trustpilot to get some real correspondence by leaving a bad review. I have now updated that review based on the fact they have resolved my personal issue.

Joined a year ago at a 50% reduction to do the Gabor Mate course. Didn’t learn anything that is not already in his books
A year later they take £450 from my account and you are not entitled to a refund.
Beware they set up autoenroll and take the full payment.

Prompt response and issue resolved quickly. Excellent customer service.

The subscription renewal experience was stressful and initially my refund request was refused, which led me to escalate the matter through several channels.
Following further communication, MentorShow ultimately issued a full refund and resolved the case.
I appreciate Carla from MentorShow for staying engaged and helping bring the matter to a resolution.

Absolute crooks. I signed up on an annual membership of $598 PA yet am being charged $147 per month, yes, $1764 per year, more than 3 times what I signed up for. Their website as atrocious with no way of accessing your account in order to cancel, and as others have mentioned their forms are in French. Please be very very careful before signing up. Yes their content is good but the company is dishonest and disgraceful
Update: they have offered me an explanation and an apology, and asked me to amend my review which I agreed to do. As I said, I can't fault the content, they just need to improve the admin sitting behind it

Company engages in very misleading subscription based model which only gives you limited time access, to workbooks etc and automatically your subscription and twice the introductionary offer. Essentially 700 USD for 12 months access to a handful of videos. Terrible model and feels like a scam.

Finally jumped in to Dr Gabor Mate's Masterclass on Trauma -'The H.E.A.L' Method. Really interesting so far.

I was very excited to purchase this masterclass with Gabor Mate and all the masters who wrote modern psychology and gaining understanding of ourselves through it. I had recently been 'fired by the company where my therapist worked.' I was reeling because I did nothing wrong but lost the best therapist I had to date.
I decided that with the background of these masters and my continuous trauma-filled life, I should be able to get through what I didn't yet know about myself with this program.
Due to time constraints, I chose to enroll in Gabor Mate's son's coaching session first-- with Daniel Mate coaching.
That coaching session turned me off to the entire program. I was first to raise my hand with a question. I was told to consider my response 'a trauma response' "in a very dismissive way without further conversation." I was truly baffled but listened to the next gentlemen describe his situation and 'pain.'
The gentleman described that he was truly suicidal and Daniel spent a lot of time with him ... as he should have. I still question why I was dismissed so soon.
I really didn't care what else Mentorshow had to offer after that. I wasted $399 and a lot of hope and tears on this program. I feel like Daniel Mate as a 'mental chiropractor' should be eliminated from the program altogether. His name is catchy because he is the son of Gabor, not because he is a great component of the Mentorshow/masterclass in my opinion.
Mentorshow was supposed to call me this week to prevent my review. I will continue to post reviews and update this one as I need to or care to with details about my experience if I am not at least refunded the $399 I wasted on this program.
I have since completed my journey without using a bit of Mentorshow ... it truly is a matter of becoming curious about yourself and things and finding the way that works for you. In my case it did not involve a human therapist to complete -- only AI to answer the rest of the questions I had about myself and my life of 67 years.
Save yourself money.... skip Mentorshow. Look at Daniel Mate's bio -- do you think he should be part of Mentorshow's class featuring the greats? What other 'showboating' type ingredients are used in this $399 class that I purchased in the nick of time because the price was increasing to $1,000????
A VERY UNHAPPY PURCHASES OF MENTORSHOW

I am not quite finished with the first week of the trauma program and it has been absolutely incredible!! So much compassion pours out of Dr. Mate as he teaches us. It's like he is embracing each one of us as he teaches. So much love there. The whole team is amazing and they go deep right from the start in a simple beautiful way. Their passion for truly wanting us healed. The exercises transform everything in me each time I do one. And I find myself naturally doing them throughout my days and nights. It's really amazing! Cycles and patterns are being broken each time and with repetition I know it will continue to bring greater freedom. It's true what they say, "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear." I signed up for the heal program and I can't wait to get started. I am passionate to find greater freedom and healing in my life. God connected me to this team and these programs. It's a gift! Thank you!

Last year I enrolled in the Gabor Mate's Masterclass and found it helpful.
Unfortunately MentorShow took my payment twice, which I discovered after checking my account. They were apologetic and helpful and returned the second amount. This year an automatic payment of $598 was taken from my account, for a yearly subscription which I did not know I had agreed to. They said an email reminder was sent, but I had not received it. These terms and conditions that companies use so often, are so unscrupulous. I have received a full refund now, finally, which they were very reluctant to provide. So now, consequently I am not a fan at all.
Update: Mentorshow has responded kindly and honestly to my complaints. So I am updating my star score to 3 stars.

I paid for what I believed was a one-off service. At no point did I clearly understand that this was a recurring subscription.
I was later charged $598 in subscription fees without knowingly agreeing to ongoing billing. I did not sign a contract or knowingly consent to a subscription.
I contacted the company and was told a refund would be provided if I closed my PayPal case. After doing so, no refund was issued.
I raised this with PayPal, who ultimately sided with the seller.
I am now seeking a full refund of these charges. Based on my experience, I would advise others to be very careful and to fully check the billing terms before making any payment.

Excellent support from the team. They were very understanding and responded quickly to my issue.
I think it would help if there was more clarity around annual subscriptions but I appreciate that the team took on board my comments and resolved my issue.

I been taking the master classes I am learning and applying the knowledge. The way the classes are presented are easy to understand. I have the opportunity to learn from great Masters Teachers, and this is priceless for what they charge for the subscription. A great opportunity of lifetime to be in the presence and learn from these great beings. I highly recommended. About costumer service they help me when i need it and also received a phone call for them.

Today I paid for an annual subscription of the Mentor show as I had watched a free Gabor Mate webinar on Trauma and I was looking for a platform that could help me and his webinar was amazing. . So I signed up.
Since then I was notified by my Councellor who had read the reviews, that most masterclasses are in French which was not advertised. I don’t speak French. I also have read reviews and people are sharing about the added fees they are incurring and that they can’t cancel their renewal easily and therefore get charged and customer service is different to get answers for. For this reason I’m not trusting the company or the process of getting people to sign up. And I’m doubting if this site is another scam to get people to sign up under false pretended. So let’s see if I get a response as I’d like to cancel and get a refund.

This was eventually resolved in a satisfactory way by ‘Carla’ and her team: Similar to dozens of reports on here around annual renewals without transparency I too found this model of renewal both deceptive and unethical. Using dark patterns, this business renews at a substantially higher price (i.e., jumping from $299 to $598) and overloads the customer's email with excessive promotional emails to ensure that the customer misses the 'renewal email'. Additionally, I signed up originally through 'Master Class' with specific interest in Gabor Mate's class, but following emails came from Mentorshow - ensuring that the customer is confused/needs to decipher what subscription is which. After a few months of first purchasing a year of access, I received a PHONE CALL from Gabor Mate's marketing team asking if I wanted to receive more classes, further training, etc, and I said 'NO'; that it was beyond my means and capacity.
$598 USD, is over $800 CAD, which I cannot afford as a single mother of four kids. This is simply unreasonable and have asked for a refund - so far, customer service has been completely non receptive to my request. Do NOT sign up with this company!
