Salesman was very pushy told my mother that as she was on her pension she could afford this service what's £7.00 a week to save your life was one of the comments, talked her into giving bank details to take service she did not want we canceled next day and changed bank card yet they still proceeded to take £299.00 out of her account how many elderly people have fallen for this and are now out of pocket hundreds of pounds

Hi Paul, we are an Australian business and do not sell in UK or use pound sterling. Specifically we do not charge £7.00 a week or £299.00 Please remove your review as it must be for a different business based in the UK.

This unit is of very poor quality

This unit is of very poor quality. My mother's Medi Alarm is failing to work after only approx 18 months Today I called IT support who informed me that the unit only lasts approximately 12 months or so and that I might need a new one. Unacceptable, I've also had to replace the cheap quality charger. Expensive and cheap quality. After a few emails, the medi alarm is being replaced with a new one. Hope it's better

I had a fall today landing on my back…

I am almost 80 years of age and had a fall today landing on my back and spent 2 hours on the floor not able to get up till the Ambulance arrived with lifting equipment after sliding on the floor to reach my home phone to contact them. The Medialarm did not activate when I fell to advise my contacts, not acceptable when it was to work.

Hi Colin, very sorry to hear about the fall, I hope you have made a full recovery. If fall detection does not activate you can still press the SOS button to call for help. The pendant needs to swing or bump to trigger the fall detection. We can increase or decrease the fall detection sensitivity, higher sensitivity will increase false alarms (which can be cancelled with SOS button). Lower sensitivity will reduce false alarms but may not detect a real fall. Please call us on 1300665322 and we can do this for you and test the alarm.

I am not impressed by the new tab timer…

I am not impressed by the new tab timer at all. It keeps saying battery low when they are brand new batteries, around every 2nd day when i am scheduled to take my tablets, the time changes back to a default of 12pm. I have rang the company and emailed them and they said that the tab timer needs to be on charge all the time. This i find very frustrating as i work and most times I don’t have access to power at my work.

Hi Teresa, was it one of our "Medi Managers"? Tab Timer is a different company. We would be happy to replace your pill dispenser with a brand new one. The WiFi feature enables family to monitor medication adherence remotely, but the downside is it consumes more power (about the same as charging a smartphone) so it needs to be plugged in at all times. The AA batteries are only used for backup during power outages, and last anywhere from 1 to 4 days depending on battery quality.

Staff at Medialarm are brilliant

Staff at Medialarm are brilliant! But the latest 4g alarm is a step backwards in design. The original 3g design was sleek, discreet and a small tear drop shape. This " new" 4g alarm is blocky, chunky and aesthetical ugly, a definite step backwards when all that was required was a chip swap.

Thank you for your review. We have recently launched a Medi Alarm Watch, that is much smaller and lighter than the pendant. The watch can also be worn around the neck with a lanyard or pinned onto clothing with the brooch accessory.

sympathetic service

I was so pleasantly surprised by the response to my problems with aus post bungling my medi alarm order. Very straightforward people to deal with, and trustwworthy products as well.

Mum had a fall and broke & dislocated her hip - was on the floor for over 4 hours before she was able to call for help. Six weeks later, she now wears a monitired Medialarm constantly and yes, there have been a few false alarms, I feel better with mum being alone at home as I know the team will talk to her or ring me if there are any perceived problems

Answer that I needed when Webster Pack failed

I needed to find something for my elderly parent who was getting confused with her medication even though we had set up a Webster's Pack but she was still having trouble. I decided to invest in this machine and it has been brilliant. She no longer thinks about her medication, she takes it when the machine tells her to. Very easy to program and very quick postage. Couldn't be happier.

We found Andrew to be most helpful and he assisted with the initial setup. There was only one minor hiccup, the lock box for the keys was left out of the original purchase package. Andrew fixed it straight away.
Would highly recommend MediAlarm to anyone looking for a medical alarm for their loved one.
