Reception is just for show, so you may have to talk to some angry mechanics after waiting half an hour. Guy was bitching about rude customers, man should be more professional and not so emotional. Overall bad experience and will avoid at all costs in the future. Finglas is where is booked my service.

Poor Experience, Defensive Staff – Glad I Checked Reviews Before Booking

I had a disappointing experience with Mechanic 24hr that I feel is important to share for others considering their services.

I contacted them using the mobile number listed on their website. As I began to explain the make of my car (Mazda), the person on the other end immediately started laughing — before I’d even described the issue. I flagged this as inappropriate, but instead of apologising, he became quite defensive. That alone was a red flag for me and made me more cautious during the rest of the conversation.

When I explained the symptoms and what triggered the issue — including a temporary workaround I’d discovered — he dismissed the car altogether, saying Mazdas were prone to problems and that I'd be better off booking it in with them. When I suggested going directly to Mazda for a proper diagnosis, he replied, "Sure they'll charge you a fortune." Instead, he encouraged me to book an initial inspection with them.

I visited their website to proceed, where I noticed they offer a collection and return service. That sounded convenient — until I realised that in order to actually have your car looked at, you’re required to make a **second**, separate booking for the inspection itself. This wasn’t clearly explained, and the site gives off the impression of a disjointed system where the left hand doesn’t know what the right is doing.

At that point, I did what I should have done earlier — I checked online reviews and I’m very glad I did. Many customers report experiences involving long delays, poor communication, and unexpectedly high costs. Reading through those, I felt like I had narrowly avoided a situation that could have left me without a car and significantly out of pocket.

My advice: do your research and shop around.

There are plenty of trustworthy mechanics out there — but unfortunately, in my experience, this is not one of them.

Avoid if you can — or don’t, and possibly regret it.

diagnostics, timing belt, service etc

Got a big job done on my car with mecahnic24, it took a few days as they where busy , the outcome has been great, car running really well now, when i brought it in it was in poor shape, white smoke , old timing belt etc., running smoothly now, service was good , the mechanics are friendly , this is the second time i have used the garage, the first was for a tricky electrical issue that they figured out, i would recommend them for sure. Just book ahead as they are always busy although in saying that even though they where busy the day i arrived, they still had a quick look before giving me an idea of what would be needed and rough costs.

DON’T GIVE THEM A CHANCE TO ROBBING…

DON’T GIVE THEM A CHANCE TO ROBBING YOU,
They are senseless, shameless, rude, burglars haven’t any idea about customer service ripping off every customer, worst decision to go there, one of my friends told me, whole staff is very rude don’t go there at all, but unfortunately went there , and got the treatment, brought my car to them to repair, got the quote of €310. But they charged me €490 without informing me. I paid them over phone call, I thought they charged me €310 as per quote. Couple of days later when I checked my online banking, got a huge shock, rang them again, and what stupid reply I got, they said you’re on holidays, enjoy your holidays, we’ll talk later, after that they never answer my call. Parked a spotless car there but when got it back, there were many scratches.
Isn’t there any instruction, who should take a strong action against them?

10 out of 10⭐️

I popped into Mechanic on Duty yesterday afternoon with an unexpected car issue - the undercover at the front of my car had dropped and was dragging on the ground as I drove- they looked after it immediately, checked my tyre pressure and I was in and out in 20mins done and dusted - excellent service! When I went in to pay, I was told there was no charge! I've never used the garage before, but I can't praise them highly enough - absolutely gentlemen and I'll be eternally grateful for them for getting me back on the road to make the journey back to Tipp! 10 out of 10!

SCAM and TERRIBLE

SCAM, SCAM, SCAM, SCAM Terrible and total scam, I went to get my car checked for battery drainage but after following up a number of times, told to bring additional parts related to ignition etc., which came out of the box and pushed to get it immediately otherwise have to pay 30€ per day, Totally messed up my car, it's not even starting now and had to tow it to other location, When brought the car it was starting
but not it totally not working, when ask them questions, he start misbehaving and refuse to bring it to its original state. Electrician was so rude and unprofessional, doesn't know how to talk to the people, I must advice to avoid these people at any cost because even after creating additional problems, ask for money because they have spent time creating additional work for you. They don't even care about complaints so its better to avoid them before you end us like others.

AVOID AVOID

AVOID AVOID. *EXPENSIVE, AND TAKE ADVANTAGE*

Booked in for a service, asked if they remove roof rack and seal the holes and quote for replacing 1 broken wing mirror.
The service was 200 as advertised.

They Charged me 390 in the end.
First he said 4 .... in shock as i thought it was a mistake i said " sorry how much!??" and he said 390.
( maybe he added a 10er on tip??) When i asked why it was so much he said it was 2 hours labour for removing the roof rack and an hour labour for "finding parts" to quote for changing the mirror. When i asked about it, the guy was very short with me and didnt want to explain anything to me.
Presumably becuae he knew i was being stitched up.

( also to seal the holes they just filled them up with black silicone (on a white car)

Also the quote, they wanted to Charge another 200 for the wing mirror. (Not including labour)
I googled and found parts online in less then 5 minutes. (100 euro brand new for the full mirror and housing ) not sure what labour was involved in that.
I should have checked reviews before booking in.
Advise is to get a price confirmed before any work is done or go somewhere else as they will take advantage.
