A great shipping experience
The entire Matthew James transaction was great. The quotation process and virtual survey went very well. Andy and his colleague, who picked up our goods, were friendly, polite and efficient. Bessie kept us appraised on the progress of the shipment and was helpful in tailoring our delivery to our requirements and Michael and his colleague delivered the goods on time and exactly where we wanted. Absolutely incredible! Super super friendly and helpful - with Steve and Martin going above and beyond. A credit to the company. Nothing was too much trouble and the way the boxes were labelled, packed, transported and delivered was impeccable.. you get what you pay for.. definitely recommend!! The team who also dealt with the admin side of things were also stars. Again nothing was too much trouble and we were kept informed all the way along of what was happening (thank you).

A very smooth experience from beginning to finish with the packaging and transit of some precious belongings to Italy. Communication was very good especially when my boxes were delivered with timings etc The delivery man Jules,was so kind, positive and helpful. Move from Spain to England
I recently moved from Barcelona, Spain to two addresses in England (London and Essex) and Matthew James were great. Not only did they offer a very fair price compared to other companies that I contacted but everything went smoothly. They also helped me fill out the necessary forms I needed for customs. Andy and Ben who came and packed up our stuff in Barcelona were absolutely fantastic, they were quick, wrapped everything very well (Andy is a tetris master!) and were an absolute delight to talk to the whole time! Our stuff arrived a little after two weeks and all the guys that unloaded everything were lovely and very efficient. They all made a very stressful process much easier and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

A seamless move from London to Paris
The service provided was 5 star from beginning to end. The administrative side of my international move was managed with calm and precision so that everything was in place in good time. All personnel in the various departments were patience and well informed. A special thanks goes to Grace and David. The actual move itself went extremely smoothly on both sides of the Channel. The teams were at all times very calm and polite. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was handled with extreme care. Special thanks to Steve and Scott who were fantastic!

Overall I would recommend
I had a few ups and downs using Matthew James but in the end I was happy with the service. I do have to say that the guys doing both the collection and delivery were amazing and definitely saved the review.
The quotes came in quick and the quote process was efficient. At this point I was very happy.
Where I had a few problems was trying to be organised. A move is a big thing and moving countries even bigger. I felt everything was left to the last minute in knowing when the items would be collected. I asked on a few occasions and told I would be given a window of 5 days and told the day before. This may work for some but at this point I deeply regretted my choice as this had not been explained when booking. I then asked to bring my removal forward as I couldn’t risk them coming the day I had to vacate my property as it wouldn’t have given me time to clean the house and organise the journey. I was given a 3 day window for collection this time. However the collection was done the day before I was told. Luckily we were ready.
Anyway the 2 guys who came were lovely. Extremely efficient and quick.
Delivery was not an issue as we were happy for that to come at any point. Again 2 fabulous men brought it. Quick, efficient and lovely to work with. Everything put into the correct places.
Overall I do recommend and I accept as a shared load I needed to be flexible but if you do like or need to be organised then please be aware of the above issues.

A professional service from the first contact all the way through the process. All the staff were helpful, friendly and polite. It seemed nothing was too much trouble. Even when we cahnged dates a few times as our purchase chain fluctuated for a while it was still not a problem.

UK to Spain - superb move.
Matthew James moved my belongings from UK to Spain. They made the whole process stress-free from quoting, to packing, and then delivery. A special mention to Andy, the driver, who was brilliant, keeping in touch at every stage. He couldn't park outside my home but didn't complain at all about having to unload everything at some distance. A real gem of a man!
