I enquired about my marriage tax allowance

I enquired about my marriage tax allowance three years ago. Someone called me a week later and said everything was set up and will receive our allowance. They called every year but missed their calls. A few months ago someone called me to see if any changes, she knew my NI and my name. I told them that I have never received anything from them. She said I should of been paid for the last three years and will call later and will sort things out. I don’t know where she got my information from. I have her phone number but the inbox is full

I hope this works for everyone lse

I had the same issue as everyone else. I joined a marriage allowance company thinking it was legit.. I've recently received all my money directly from HMRC. I went to a accountant they told me how to get the marriage allowance company off my HMRC account, the accountant would have to become my agent, which would take off the marriage allowance company as my agent. Once the accountants requested to be my agent, HMRC send a code to my address and I had to give the accountant that code. He then requested my refund and I can now stay I've received all my money back. It's been a long struggle to get to this point. I wanted the refund back in 2020 when it was hard financially because of COVID, I just waited. This summer I had enough. I was determined to get my money without them taking 42%. I hope this works for everyone who see this.

We must be posting about different companies here because I got my refund fairly quickly. They’ve not updated their address from Cardiff but if you do your research first then you won’t get burnt. I did and I got my refund as expected, no shouting or threats. I recall just two emails got sent and I received my funds within 10 days.

They never charged a fee either, even though the 30% is a normal fee to employ ( hire ) a tax accountant. Ask yourself this, is a barrister free of charge?..of course they’re not so it’s not unreasonable to pay for a service.

Agreed, it’s free to do this yourself but HMRC will give you no help when it comes to refunds.

Enough is Enough ....

I agree with all of the info put forth by reviewers below about this marriage tax refund scam; especially that of steph mel.

firstly, i've quizzed hmrc over and over about how they can legally support, permit, condone, sanction, and still use the falsified bogus form that marriage tax refund gets you to sign to shift your refund over to them for processing? it is stated on the form "for processing" that is processing only guys first give away.
but i was told by an agent of hmrc that i should have checked the validity of the form before i signed it. but come on, i am a total layman when it come to recognizing the validity of the letter head used on the form in question where it is clearly written:
" HMRC' upper left of the form. that is bs to assume that the common taxpayer has to recognize a false document when their gov tax agency's name is the letter head : H M R C ! !
'
now how can a government agency continue to allow this form to be in circulation after all of the complaints and amazingly, with their knowledge that it is not an hmrc form? what? as was stated to me personally by an agent: a falsified document, as in this form legally means and it follows that all of the entire verbiage, all the contents, including titles and signee's, is wrong, not valid, illegal and not at all binding, becomes null and void due to it being a falsified doc. in the first place..doesn't it? (from a scam fly by night company as well)
..What is hmrc getting kickbacks from this company to help ease the financial crisis they and other gov agencies have led us into? no one knows do they..it is corruption nevertheless. and the new gov should do something about it now!
so why doesn't hmrc pull the form and stop giving away peoples hard earned tax refund, and other payment entitlements ..mine being 834 pounds? the irs in america would have stopped this first time.
so please spread the word and contact the following
Jim hara
Chief executive and 1st permanent secretary of hmrc
you can find his contact e mail easily on line

Lucy Frazer
Treasury Minister and Parliamentary member, HMRC
lucy.frazer.mp2parliament.uk

and anyone else you can think of. let's make this a rising tide and get out just due payments. power to the people, righteousness, honesty, truthfullness, integrity transparency..hey it is our tax money that pays their salaries innit?

The director of Marriage Tax Allowance…

The director of Marriage Tax Allowance LTD who frauds people out of their tax refund, is the director of about 5 other companies. Including a PCR testing company. PCR Testing LTD If you cross reference and look at trustpilot reviews for (workmileagetaxrebate) company- Mileage Refund LTD, you can see they are stealing peoples money via HMRC. They also own Perfection Clinic LTD V12E LTD and Bahia Industries LTD. I can’t even imagine what kind of damage they are doing with the PCR testing. All from a PO Box 7227, Wolverhampton. Criminals
Report them to Action Fraud if you get scammed so they can get a bigger picture of this company’s wrongdoings

My marriage tax service is not HMRC

Hi
Please stay away from this company. i received a letter from HMRC that they've sent a refund of £250 to these people. When i reached out they told me that i will receive a repayment from them once they have deducted their fee and this can take up to 10 working days. its been over almost two months and i havent heard back from them. Do not apply for marriage tax through them, you can do it yourself for free, i made a mistake to fill their online form as they masquarade as if they are HMRC marriage tax unit.

They are not regulated by the FCA

They are not regulated by the FCA, they had their license revoked , they are currently advertising under marriage tax refund, used to be marriage tax allowance.
I applied for a refund December 2020, after numerous letters and emails from them urging me to complete.
Since my application, also confirmation they had received it, nothing.
Currently seeking legal advice.
It would appear they get your refund , only never to pass this on to the customer.

I have spent my hours and hours with HMRC but all in vain because HMRC says you need to contact marriage-tax company. They took my all the details including claim reference number issued by HMRC since then no response. We are in agony because of Marriagetax refund company.

Hidden fees, beware.

Ok, so they have to make a profit otherwise they wouldn't exist. We accepted the rather steep 30% fee, but stung by a minimum payment fee and a processing fee. Dishonest company that doesn't clearly show all the fees on their website.
The forms are no easier or quicker to complete than the process of doing it yourself with HMRC. You will also get paid much quicker doing it directly as this company keeps hold of the funds for nearly a month with no communication.
They are also in breach of GDPR, failing to respond to my request, they are now under investigation with the ICO.
They are not regulated by the FCA, glad I got some money, but wish I went direct.
