No delivery and Makro then cancelled my order without ever trying to contact me. Still waiting for refund
Ordered online. They said delivery would happen on a specific day. At the end of the scheduled day nothing had arrived so I went to the tracker. They claimed no delivery because my address was incorrect (when I checked my address was fine) and then decided to cancel my order and issue a refund. The refund is expected to be paid in two weeks. During this debacle not one attempt to communicate with me by cell phone or email. I had to call their customer services to find out. I would not recommend ever using their online service.
Price warning!!!!!!!!!!
Warning!!! Makro has random suppliers selling at VERY HIGH prices. Eg. a no name 30 cm clock is R2000!! Scroll down & check who the supplier is. Then google the supplier to see if they even have a website. Do a price comparison across other stores before u buy. I'm sure the head of marketing at makro is allowing random suppliers and taking a cut from the profits. Also items are marked "on sale" DONT fall for it!!!!! Check the prices against other stores. If the price is too high - trust your gut : it's INFLATED. Corruption has moved into Makro as well. Disgusting.

Makro Untrustworthy and Lack of Customer Support
I placed an order for a lounge suite online on the 7th January 2026 and paid in full. The delivery date reflected was 05th March 2026 which was about 2 months later but I still waited patiently. I called them on the 3rd March 2026 because the order wasn’t progressing on their tracking system and only then did the order move to “Ready To Ship” which leads me to believe the order wasn’t really processed until I called in. I then call them over 10 times since the 05th March and was given the same feedback over and over that my query has been escalated. It’s now the 10th March 2026 and still no delivery yet their tracking system still shows delivery on the 05th March 2026.
Clear communication would be appreciated so I can plan accordingly.

No delivery - keep saying it is on it's way and then nothing - shocking service - shocking follow up service - personally I would be embarrassed to work at a company such as this and would use a pigeon first before I ever use Makro Online again - use Takealot

I purchased a pack of 2 fans at Makro on the 14Feb 2026 and one box was delivered on the 17th Feb 2026 worse i was not even contacted, i found my box by the security room, on the very same day I called the supplier ClicknBuy and they promised to send the other box the next day 18th but didn't deliver, 19th same thing no box, 20th again nothing, 21,22,23,24 nothing. I informed Makro and they advised i do the refund, did that and the box was collected on the 04th March and i was advised that the refund will take 3weeks for funds to reflect in my account. I couldn't wait, purchased another set of 2 fans on the 06th March 2026 while i wait for the refund right, today 10th March one box of fan was delivered again. I rejected the box and asked courier to take it back to the supplier. Escalated the matter to Makro and i am very pissed with this experience. I will not buy at Makro ever again because it seems like they advertise items that they don't have trusting suppliers to deliver and fail to discipline them if they don't deliver.

Does anyone even read these from Makro? I actually don't know how to truly express my frustration. From Call Centre not following up effectively to the WumDrop courier lying about trying to deliver - saying we are unavailable, which is 100% not true. Utter disgust in the process.

I just bought the "Beef and Pork Big BBQ Medium Tray" about two hours ago, got home and opened it only to find it off. The smell is off and so is the taste. This is not the first time this has happened, I had the same experience last month. Totally unacceptable!
Makro refund not forthcoming…
I have been battling with Makro Strubensvalley for over a month now to get the money that they refunded to me to appear in my bank account. I have a slip of the refund but no money in my bank account.
I have sent emails to everyone in Makro - no one cares.
There is delivery in small towns.
We lived in very small town and far from a big town and mostly it's a whole way gravel road. For the last 5 month we used Makro as our grocery store. Yes, sometimes there is some products that is out of stock but Makro refund is for everyone and when the order is to big like this last month then you have to separate the order in to 2 different orders. We also check that the orders is big enough for free delivery. Yes free delivery and where we live, it's a BIG BIG bonus. Because we live so far from the Makro stores there is no service on the fresh products and butter and meat, they use Courier Guy and there is no facility for that kind of products.
Thank Makro Bloemfontein and Johannesburg we will definitely use you again in the future.

This is an absolute disgrace of a website—hands down the worst in South Africa. They should just shut the whole thing down.
I placed an order for several fans, only for it to be cancelled on the scheduled delivery day—with no notification whatsoever. To make matters worse, I still haven't received a refund.
Makro incompetent and unable to full fill online order
An order was placed online with Makro on 2026/02/19.
Subsequent to a failed delivery, it was established that the order was cancelled on 2026/02/25 without any notice or reasons given.
To date, 2026/03/04, I have not received any communication from Makro or the refund for the order.
Upon enquiry and phoning the Makro customer line, they only stated the 3rd party supplier could not fulfill the order.
No responsibility is taken from Makro regarding the failed service delivery or the fact that I have not received my refund yet.
Makro advertises a false service that they cannot deliver.
This is not the first order I've placed online that's been cancelled without notice or subsequent notification and where I had issues with the refund to take place.

Purchased a fridge from macro,received an email confirmation that delivery will b on the 28th of Feb,when and purchased all my meat stuff,only to have waited the entire day and my fridge was not delivered, call in macro call center on the 1st of March and was told my order was cancelled and a refund is in process ,but I was not informed abt my fridge being cancelled nor did I cancel it,reason that was given was delivery was suppose to be on the 27th and therfore Springfield macro cancelled my purchase ,this is very unprofessional ,who is going to compensate me for my meat that I purchased and it went off ,I was under the impression Macro is such a reputable company and I never expected this time of service
Worst service ever
Worst service ever. Never order anything online from Makro, you're basically burning money away for no reason. I'm still waiting on an order placed on the 18th of Feb. The track is no help as the status doesn't move. No update emails, sms or any sort of communication unless you seek it out. Even an order that was made after the 18th from Amazon arrived and Makro still has yet to deliver.

Totally disgusting service, dont ever buy from them. Received damaged product after one a half weeks after paying for it, did not sign for it and sent back immediately with delivery vehicle. Took pictures and send to makro and absolutely no correspondence received from them. Been two weeks now and despite calling them everyday still getting nowhere. Will never ever recommend this store to anybody.

When I signed up with Makro, I specifically checked the box at the bottom of the form that said "I do not wish to be contacted for 3rd party marketing"
Makro has given my contact details to other companies to spam call me and try sell me services.
Blue Label connect is now contacting me to try sell me services.
