We recently took delivery of a new Scania P500 Lorry Loader from Macs Truck Sales Ltd, and the experience from start to finish was first class.

Peter Knowles was excellent throughout the process. The turnaround time from initial order to delivery was impressive, particularly considering the number of additional extras and specific requirements we needed incorporating into the build. Nothing was too much trouble, and communication was clear and proactive at every stage.

On collection, the operator training provided was thorough and professionally delivered. It gave our team complete confidence in both the vehicle and crane operation from day one, which is exactly what you want when introducing a new specialist asset into the fleet.

We have had work half completed on one of our lorries which they are proudly confirming as complete.
The original estimation was for 3 weeks work , turned out to be 8 weeks and £10,000 above the estimated cost . We are a very busy reputable , reliable , trustworthy business and expect to be treated in the same way as we would treat a customer . Never have myself or any of the rest of our team seen such shoddy work . They should be ashamed of the company name .

Overall, after good experiences in the past, this purchase has had its issues. I do not want to go into too much detail, but better communication would have helped. Also, an improved understanding of the situation would have been prudent. At times it was felt that a "the issue is with you not us" attitude was all that was going to be offered, along with pointless analogies that sometimes felt quite offensive and undermining. Saying that, it would not put me off requesting quotes in the future, but, would count towards any final decision for a purchase.

My review is from a drivers point of view, which holds as much weight as a company review. The company I work for Eurocell Recycling (Midlands). Leased / hired a DAF hookloader from Mac Trucks 5 years ago which I was the sole driver. Nothing was every a problem or to much trouble if things went wrong, which rarely happened, apart from new vehicle teething problems. Which in my experience were sorted out without an issue. So much so I collected my new truck today from Macs a DAF 530 CF Hookloader. EVERY member of staff seem like family from mechanics to Directors. Why can't every company take a leaf out of their book. QUALITY customer service, that isn't false at any point. No wonder Macs and their family team win awards in industry. Thanks guys. Tony

No plating certificate in vehicle and apparently l can’t have the V5 for the vehicle for six months

We have been searching for a new crane lorry for some months and contacted Mac's Trucks over this period for a number of quotes which were always prompt and comprehensive. The long lead times for all new lorries is a problem these days but we were able to secure a cancelled order from Mac's and are now the proud owners of a new Volvo 18T crane lorry. The handover training to our own drivers was very thorough and appreciated as part of the purchase. We wouldn't hesitate to buy another crane lorry from them in the future.

Having collected our new vehicle yesterday, very pleased with the final result. Vehicle spec completed as required with rear crane and custom stairway access to the body installed. Took longer than expected but can't be helped. Alex very helpful and informative throughout entire process.

I was told my driver would be collected from the train station after his flight and train journey to Huddersfield to be told when he was there they were to busy, I have emailed regarding setting up the R&M contract with the dealer and the salesman has completely ignored me. Service went sharply down hill once the payment was received.

Professional Company, very helpful, no pressure sales, just explained everything, answered any question promptly. Would be our first point of call for any future transport requirements.

From phoning up and ordering the vehicle and getting the price except and the price max tracks I would say I wanted the best I’ve dealt with found another company MV Commercials had a job to get back to us and when needed we’d already bought this truck it was already working and they weren’t bothered but Max trucks were absolutely fantastic explained everything about the track after-care service has been very good so far even phone a local dealer and told him that we bought the truck and it was sent all the paperwork for Service and to them We’ve even had phone calls from Max trucks to make sure everything is okay each week since we’ve had it five star

Martin and the team at Mac were a pleasure to deal with. There availability of trucks and realistic pricing was far better than any others we spoke to.

Good service to start with when made initial contact.

After receiving truck no LOLER paperwork was sent had to keep chasing.

Broken part on the leg that needed replacing and was told it didn't need to be although this wouldnt pass a LOLER without it working. Still awaiting for this to be changed after nearly 2 weeks of having the truck

Aftersales really isnt great once the truck is gone seems to be the last you hear.

Having been stitched up previously by another dealer with our last truck i was sceptical about being burnt again but Alex at Macs was very honest throughout in terms of cost and lead times the truck was well presented on collection and is everything we wanted we will go to them again
