Upon returning the vehicle
When picking up the vehicle, I was offered additional insurance, but no one explained exactly what was covered; I paid €129 under the impression that everything was insured. During my vacation, the windshield cracked through no fault of my own, but the policy didn't cover it. I had booked the car through Booking and—fortunately—had already paid for comprehensive insurance there. The agent saw the contract yet still pressured me into taking the extra coverage. I didn't actually need to pay anything; the €129 was a waste of money. They charged the €660 repair cost to my credit card, and no one would speak to me further about it. Fortunately, Booking quickly covered the cost. Apart from this, everything was fine.

We would like to clarify that our staff presented our extra coverage options at pick-up to offer additional peace of mind. Based on the selection made at the counter, the protection plan chosen covered the bodywork of the vehicle, but did not include glass and windshield coverage.
Please note that Locauto does not have visibility into the third-party products, coverages, or insurance policies purchased directly through a broker, as those agreements are strictly between the broker and the customer.
We sincerely apologize for any misunderstanding that occurred during your check-in. We take your feedback seriously and will use it to improve our counter communication, ensuring that coverage details are explained even more clearly in the future. We are, however, glad to hear that the broker resolved the claim quickly for you.

Excellent experience overall
The Citroën C5 Aircross was about half a year old and in excellent condition. The check-in and check-out was much easier than with other car rental companies like Hertz (though we had some difficulties to find the exact location for the drop-off of the car early in the morning), and there were (so far) no hidden or special charges after the return. The staff was friendly and very efficient. The only negative aspect was the car brand given. As other car rental companies, Locauto advertises the most popular car in the market (in this case: VW Tiguan, 5 Stars in the Euro-NCAP Crash Test), but then gives you a much cheaper brand (Citroën C5 Aircros, only 4 Star in the Crash Test). Though we were probably lucky that we did not receive a Chinese brand - which we would have refused.

Everything went very smoothly
Everything went very smoothly, the only thing I would improve is the website and the app because they don't work that well, especially on the phone. Other than that, no complaints. The car was in good condition and the staff was nice. No credit card deposit is also a plus.

Five star rental .Rental could not have been easier
Rental could not have been easier. No queue, pleasant greeting and quickly on the road. Lovely clean and pretty new car that was perfect for our trip. ( scratches were pointed out to us ). No oil no windshield washer fluid
The people at the counter were very friendly. Even though we had a heads up at the counter our car only had half a tank of gas. While we were travelling the oil light went on. We had to pull into a gas station and fill up the reservoir as there was no oil. As well we had no windshield washer fluid. We had to pay for the fluid and the oil. As well the outside of the car was very dirty. I’m hoping to get some compensation .
