Can recommend Locauto at Bari Airport. I’ve had bad experiences with other budget car rental companies in Italy previously, but this time everything went smoothly

We arrived late by plane, so the office next to the parking lot was already closed. The office inside the airport was still open and th keys for the car were handed over there and I had to go and look for the car on my own. Until there no problem. When I arrived at the car, it was very dirty from the outside so that I couldn’t check for any scratches or dents. So I was more or less forced to take the additional full insurance because if I didn’t, they would charge my for damages that had already been there.
However the inside of the car was dirty as well. The car seats were full of stains and it was full of dust and cigarette ashes.
So I returned by foot (5min walk) to the airport office to complain and ask for another car. No problem, I got another car. So I went back to the parking lot.
The new car was even worse than the other. Dirty from the outside, cigarette burning marks on the seats, dust and cigarette ashes in the car and a lighter on the floor in the back of the car. So this car as well hadn’t been cleaned from the inside or outside. Once again I returned to the office in the airport.
Third try: another car which was acceptable from the outside but on the inside again full of dust and the front windows were extremely dirty which blinded me when the headlights of other cars hit the windshield. However I was tired of getting a forth car which probably would have been as dirty as the other 3 cars and accepted my fate and went ahead and cleaned the car myself on the next day.
An absolute disgrace!

Apparently audi a3 or similar car means a citreon c3

In response to the reply I got - yeah, citreon c3 and audi a3 are two completely different cars. It’s like saying horse and donkey are the same category of animals

The actual rental was fine, the car was ok (although not to the specification requested) and collection and drop-off quick and simple.

However, when returning the car we were told the parcel shelf was missing and that we had "taken" it! We have now been charged a substantial amount of money for this - far more than the parcel shelf would cost.

We have clear photos showing the parcel shelf was missing when we collected the car - but as we didnt know the design of the car did not spot this at the time. The collection agent refused to accept this.

The customer service facility online barely works so it is practically impossible - I'm sure intentionally - to raise a dispute so I do not know if there is anyway to get the money back.

As far as I can see this has been done purposefully to rip us off. Do not use this company.

We were in a completely hopeless situation, as we’d booked with another company but weren’t able to collect the car from there, so we had to find a solution. Then, in the car park, someone recommended your company. We couldn’t have been luckier. The service was very quick and professional; the ladies in the office and the gentlemen outside were all very helpful and cheerful. Everything was fine with the car too – we really grew to love it during those few days.
Next time we’re in Italy, we’ll definitely be renting a car from you again.
