White 07 turning gritty on the brush
I love Lick Supreme Ultra matt. We have used White 07 as the primary colour in our new (to us) bungalow. The cover and finish is exceptional and the ultra matt is excellent at concealing some fairly rubbish plasterwork we have inherited. As we are coming down to decorating our final room we have experienced an issue with our latest can of White 07 which has behaved strangely, turning 'gritty' on the brush. All I could do was wipe it off and replace the brush. The next day I tried again that too behaved the same way! I am at a loss. I have painted our whole house in Lick Supreme, which is is an expensive choice and am left with a dilemma.
I have reported my problem to Lick, who are investigating and have offered a contribution of paint towards finishing our last room.
They are being more than fair.

Absolutely awful paint
Absolutely awful paint. Standard and premium paints aren’t great.
Sadly you do not get what you pay for 😞 Yes there are less fumes than standard paint but actually smells a little like a damp dog. So still stinky to a degree but worse than that is the quality of the finish.
We have tried a few colours and all have been awful but by far the worse is there Greige range in ultra flat matt.
If you want a clean and perfect finish, this is not a brand I would recommend.
The Greige has really frustrated me to a point of absolute disbelief (hence writting a review) - no matter how much you mix it and no matter what type of roller (we’ve tried them all) you end up with black specks everywhere - which aren’t visible until your rolling.
We’ve now called it a day and will have to have paint mixed to the same colour and start over. It’s bloody awful.
Equally the dark blue, we brought two tins and checked the batch numbers, sadly after knocking a small section of wall, we touched up with the second (was intended for the utility room) tin it does not match 😞 the contrast is quite shocking.
It’s a lot of for a gimmick

A customer bought this paint two tins…
A customer bought this paint two tins of dark blue for a bedroom the walls were already a similar shade . Both tins appeared to be exactly the same so I set about preparation . Having got my electric paint paddle out I duly stirred the first tin tipped in to a paint scuttle and started to apply . I cut everything in as normal
And rolled around . First coat patchy as hell on drying Second coat patchy with lines . So I left it over night . Repeated process third fourth fifth coat still showing patches but the worst thing was the two tins were subtly different shades . Also it appears you can’t touch it up it leaves a corona . Abysmal worst paint finish I’ve ever used never again . I’m
Not a DIY person either I’m an I’ll do it for you pro ! We actually went and purchased a similar colour and repainted the lot to perfection .

This paint is amazing
This paint is amazing - the decorator said he could have got the same colour cheaper but when he had finished the house he admitted it was the best paint he had ever used.
Delivery was quick and you can also order next day delivery with Screwfix.

Supreme Flat Matt NOT suitable for Bathrooms or Kitchens
Purchased Supreme Flat Matt and had water marks during first weeks use that stand out and will not disappear. Response from Lick when I sent in a complaint -‘ this paint can naturally be more susceptible to visible moisture marking in environments with ongoing humidity or limited ventilation’
But these marks appeared within first weeks use and just in a standard bathroom.
So why advertise as suitable for Bathrooms and Kitchens!

As part of our efforts to resolve the matter, we offered a replacement product better suited to higher-moisture environments and arranged this replacement at no cost to you.
While our Supreme Flat Matt can be used in bathrooms, factors such as humidity, condensation and ventilation can affect the appearance and performance of paint in these spaces. We appreciate that the issue arose sooner than you expected and understand your frustration.
Although we were unable to provide a refund for a purchase made through a third-party retailer, we did take steps to resolve the matter by supplying replacement paint as a gesture of goodwill.
We value all customer feedback and are sorry that, despite our efforts to assist, we were unable to meet your expectations on this occasion.

We ordered some samples from Lick that arrived within 2 days and to our delight were squares with sticky backs so that we did not have to buy and waste a paint pot if we didn't like the colour. We chose a beautiful pink 01 and absolutely love it and the finish it has given our garden room.

Premium prices for poor product
Was very excited to use Lick paint as have seen lots of promotional content on Instagram. We chose Blue 07, once I started painting I noticed that the paint was very streaky, it seemed really watered down. I ended up having to do three coats plus touch ups and it is still streaky in places. It also chips and marks really easily. The paint was for a bedroom which is not a high traffic area and already we have two areas where the paint has chipped. Terrible experience using this paint, I will definitely not be using this brand again!

Great product, great service.
From order to delivery was very quick, with email updates. The paint was packaged in a very sturdy box with clever clips on the lid to keep it close right. Included was a very handy wooden stirrer.
The finished paintwork and colour( Hunter green) is very lovely. It went on easily. It did need two coats but I would expect that with a dark rich green on a pre white surface.
Definitely recommend.

Disappointed with outcome
Went on my daughter’s recommendation as she’s used this brand before. The test card in B&Q looked the shade I was after, a slight creamy white so went with 3 tins of White 03. We had painted a white (Dulux) undercoat as the previous colour was a dark pink and didn’t want that to show though. However when we put the first coat on it was coming off again when using both the roller and the brush round the edges. What a nightmare! We let that dry and did another coat the next day. That went on slightly better but it looks like we can see white patches all over so it’s going to need at least another coat. It looks more yellow than off white and not the quality I expected from a premium priced product. It also has a strange odour to it, which isn’t very pleasant. I was hoping 2 x 2.5litres would’ve done an average size room with the 2 coats but sadly not!

The only paint…
Still the only paint we’ve used since we bought our house in 2019. Have a new room to paint, and one to refresh, so needed a pile of samples. They worked, and we’ve ordered our new colours. Thanks Lick :)

Terrible coverage
Terrible coverage, would say this paint is equal with the cheapest of cheap ( but this paint is expensive), brought a dark colour that was to cover a light colour, it didn't cover well, seems very watery, will never buy this make of paint again.

Terrible paint quality and why bother responding if you cannot offer a resolution
Terrible paint quality
Ended up having a customer who wanted to use this paint so used the Lick Pro + paint which is exceptionally expensive and found the quality was terrible. Took 5 coats of the eggshell to get any kind of decent coverage and the wall paint is not scrubbable at all and again took 4-6 coats to get decent coverage. It was like painting with cheap watered down paint! For the price I expected a lot better and feel from the other reviews that there is an issue with quality control.
Lick responded but didn't offer a refund, no real resolution and between them Screwfix and lick have palmed each off to the other with no resolution. Lick did offer replacement paint but negated to realise that my customer has had days of wasted labour that I as a small business am going to have to soak rather than the large companies Screwfix or lick doing anything.
