Looks nice, works terribly

The Level Lock has been one of the worst smart home products I’ve ever purchased. From the beginning the lock constantly jammed and rarely worked smoothly. It would randomly lock and unlock on its own and frequently showed errors or stopped responding altogether.

The whole point of a smart lock is convenience and security, but this product delivered neither. Instead it created constant frustration and made me question whether my door was actually locked.

Customer service was equally disappointing. When I reached out about the issues, the support process was slow and unhelpful. After multiple attempts to resolve the problem, they essentially told me the issue wasn’t covered under warranty and offered no real solution other than purchasing replacement parts. For a product at this price point, that’s unacceptable.

After researching further, it seems like many other customers have had similar experiences with unreliable performance and poor warranty support. Save yourself the headache and look at other smart lock options. This one simply isn’t worth the money.

Level Lock pro fails and battery will jam

Please do not buy the Level lock pro. There is a reason they do not have reviews on their website. I wish I had come here first.

I bought this lock after being told the app would no longer be supported for my Kevo lock. We loved the app for remote entry for visitors. I was told there would be a significant discount on this lock. I really wish I had done my research and compared it to others on the market.

Many times the lock would lock and unlock on its own. The worst part, however, was when my husband went to change the battery of this lock. The battery is located inside the bolt. You place it in the middle of the bolt and screw a thin top on that has minimal threading.

Hours after changing the battery, the top came loose, with the pressure of the battery and the battery got jammed in the actual lock. We could not open our front door for days waiting on our handyman to come! When he got there, he had to pay him to remove the entire lock but the bolt he was unable to yet remove. He then had to hammer it with such force, the lithium batter began to smoke. Believe me when I say I had a fire extinguisher ready. This was my worst nightmare. We had support on the phone and there was no other recommendation to remove it.

The battery eventually bent so much that it gave way as he yanked with such force on our front door. After that, forget reinstalling the lock. Into the trash it went along with the hundreds of dollars we spent on it. I asked for a refund (or at least partial) from the company but was told it was outside the return window.

I came here to take the time to review this company and their faulty product that malfunctioned to hopefully deter others from purchasing from Level.co. In my opinion and unsettling experience, this company does not produce high performing products and I would look elsewhere to protect your home and family. Unless, you want to be dead bolted inside your home unable to exit your front door.

Mediocre product, terrible customer service

Unfortunately we have been having issues with our locks, they often do not work either when in proximity or remotely. I've been trying to resolve the issue with their support team but they continually make me jump through hoops, download 3P apps, setup guest wifi networks, etc. to try to resolve the issue. The issue still is unresolved and I've requested to return the locks to them. They are now unresponsive. I really wanted to like this company and their products but unfortunately they just don't work. Leaving a review here in hopes they'll respond and remedy the situation.

Looks nice. Can’t be trusted. 🔐❌

I bought the Level Lock+ and had problems right away. Notifications were delayed or incorrect, battery life was awful, and Tap to Go and Home Key worked only when they felt like it. I never felt comfortable leaving my house without a physical key.

The worst part was the lock unlocking on its own 😳. More than once I came home late at night or after a trip to find my door unlocked. At first I thought the app was wrong. It wasn’t.

Customer service was actually great and replaced the lock, but the replacement had the same issues. I even bought Level Connect hoping it would help. It didn’t.

Nice design, terrible execution. A smart lock that makes you feel less safe is not smart. 🚫🔑

Level has a 2.0 rating for a reason

Sadly, Level Locks has subpar products. Their customer service team is good, however their hands are tied.

I have spent 30+ hours over the past 2 years fixing and repairing my Level Bolt.

I was specificaly told its under warranty and I exchanged 18 emails with 50+ videos, photos, screenshots.

When the time came to process the Replacement (clearly, there's a mechanical problem with the Bolt), I was told the product is not under warranty and they offered a measly 20% discount.

Overall, stay away. Level has a 2.0 rating on TrustPilot for a reason. I find it surprising that the Level C-suite is not recognizing issues and letting things "just be."

This product is garbage

This product is garbage. Level Connect quit working after 6 months. Their support makes you go in circles to prevent them from having to address the issue. I would never recommend this product. Ripped it out.

Touch only works for a maximum of 3 minutes, after you have reached the 200 meter radius of the home zone, then you must use a key, keycard or hope that Siri understands you so that you can open the door without a key. there is no way to change the time to more than 3 minutes. you cannot put a key into the iPhone's wallet even if you have activated HomeKit.
the support is okay to answer, but it doesn't help when the fundamental touch function doesn't work and they can't make it work.
The 2 stars is for that it actually keep my door locked and the design finish.

Beautiful design meets horrible battery…

Beautiful design meets horrible battery life.

I read ALL the complaints about abysmal battery life but still bought this expensive paperweight. Battery lasts only a couple weeks and support is zero help. A month of troubleshooting and when they could not find a solution they closed the support ticket.

Ive owned this lock for just a year now and have been locked out of my house twice due to arriving home to find a dead battery.

No corporate contact provided, no support for product, no system administrator to talk with. They don't care about the disabled or their service animals. Very unprofessional company.

Horrible customer service!

I ordered Level Lock Touch+ Connect on October 01, 2023, and received Level Lock Touch. The return tracking number shows delivered, yet they refuse to issue a refund. It was the worst customer service experience in my life.

Level Would Rather Procastinate and Deflect than Fix the Problem

I have two Level Keypads. The setup was simple as is adding a code to each keypad. Unfortunately, after the second day neither of the keypads are functioning properly. The keypads light which means that they are operational, but neither will lock or unlock the Level Bolt. I have contacted Level three separate times about my issue, and they have still not corrected the problem. These are not worth the $80/per keypad and the aggravation that will occur if you are trying to have them repaired or replaced.

Lock was installed by a professional…

Lock was installed by a professional locksmith. Despite that, it has been jamming constantly. Their support kept asking me to run tests (took a part the lock twice), and all tests showed lock is jamming. Instead of replacing it they kept asking me to preform more and more tests, which stopped making sense. each test requiring taking the lock apart (couldn’t they just share all the tests once so I wouldn’t need to take the lock down each time???).Simply gave up. Seems to me they just don’t want to take responsibility. Will buy Nest lock, have another door with Nest and it works flawlessly

The level is only ok

The level is only ok. The Bluetooth is iffy or at least slow so it takes a while to update it’s status in HomeKit before I can use the app to lock or unlock the door. Also using a HomeKit automation to unlock your doors when you get home has to be confirmed so it isn’t hands free which all adds up to a key being easier and faster. Asking Siri to unlock your door is nice but again phone has to be unlocked before it will work so it’s not really hands free. I realize some of these issues are because of apple’s decisions with HomeKit and security but the level app is lacking these features so you have to rely on HomeKit. My other smart lock is better because of a WiFi link, keypad, and better app. Considering the price you don’t get your moneys worth.

Awesome idea but..

Awesome idea but.. Would be much better if it included Wifi Support. Waiting for the Bluetooth to connect each time is a little annoying. Otherwise loves it.

Ease of use

It much better than previous smart locks I’ve used. Integration into HomeKit is seamless. No connectivity issues so far. Very easy to install and setup. The only issue I have is that sometimes on the HomeKit screen the icon for the lock with say “jammed” after I manually lock the door. It’s slightly irritating. But other than that I love it.

Pretty good so far

Pretty good so far. None of the cylinders fit me lock, but customer support sent me one that did right away. Installed easy.
I wish there some additional setting in the app. It would be great to have it automatically unlock when you approach the door, or something that makes opening with your phone faster.
